Campermate is a rip off via its booking application BOOKIT

Nice and helpful App. But avoid any booking through the app. I made this mistake and pay now $144 instead of $74. Total rip-off! Book directly by the campgrounds website.

Nobody to welcome us. We had to leave. Did drive every where in the property and found nobody.

I feel terrible about how the app operates. First, I made only one booking via CamperMate and received one booking confirmation.
However, I was then contacted by the campsite, who told me that CamperMate had created a double booking under my name and asked CamperMate to delete the extra reservation. Instead, CamperMate cancelled my actual booking and charged me a 250 cancellation fee.
I emailed them at least three times to ask for an update, but I am still waiting for their reply.

AVOID BOOKING THROUGH THIS APP! I thought I had been directed to the campsite’s booking and got charged DOUBLE the fee for camping that I would have been charged if I booked directly to the camp’s website. The lady at the check-in told me it should have been half the price, but, as this is a third party, I couldn’t get my money back.

Terrible experience with the campsite hostess, arrogant and unfriendly, and poor bathroom facilities.

CamperMate was recommended to me by a friend who’d used the App to book Aussie campsites previously.
CamperMate was invaluable for our Aussie Roadtrip!
It’s very easy to locate towns / regions and then be given a list of available campsites plus - vitally important - their reviews.
I would recommend everyone to upload the App and use it to plan their trio.
