⭐ 1 Star – Capify is NOT unsecured and does NOT follow its own promises or the law!!!!

DO NOT DO IT – Capify misrepresents its loans as unsecured, but this is completely false. I entered into a financial hardship arrangement, and before the default notice period even ended, they went ahead and lodged a caveat over my property — despite promising on their website that their loans are unsecured and require no assets.

When I called to raise this issue, the representative rudely told me to "shut up and stop reading off a script" — completely unacceptable behaviour, especially when I was in financial hardship.

Their own website says:

"We adhere to the AFIA code of practice – our loans are unsecured, which means no assets or security required!"
This is clearly misleading.

Here’s what actually happened:

Funds Not Received Before First Debit: Capify debited my account before I even received the loan funds — this is not only unethical but may be illegal. You can't take repayments for money that hasn’t even been disbursed yet.

Undisclosed & Excessive Fees: I was told a 4.5% risk fee would be deducted — fine. But then came surprise fees: an admin fee, discharge fee, and other charges that were never mentioned upfront. Completely non-transparent.

Incorrect Debit Amounts: They quoted daily repayments of $109.16, but the actual withdrawals were different — throwing off my cash flow and budget planning.

Incorrect ABN on Documentation: The loan documents included the wrong ABN, which raises serious questions about the validity and legal standing of the agreement.

Hidden Security Clause: Despite claiming to be “unsecured,” the fine print includes a clause that allows them to take security over your assets if requested. That’s not an unsecured loan — that’s a trap.

Ignored 30-Day Rectification Clause: Even though the contract says borrowers get 30 days to fix a default, they ignored this and took enforcement action prematurely.

This is deceptive, misleading conduct and may breach the ASIC Act 2001 and Australian Consumer Law. If you're a small business owner under pressure, avoid Capify at all costs — they’ll make things worse, not better.

Explained entire situation to their guy David. Was a long conversation. Came back with some lame crap that they don't use Wise history and went on my only other bank account which I explained had zero revenue through it. Complete and utter amateurs and wanton waste of businesses time. Literally just a pack of uneducated predators.

Capify don’t think pensioners aren’t worthy of assistance if they have a small mortgage & require extra funds
