Worst Experience As A Small Business Owner
This card is supposed to be good for small businesses - As a small business owner, I've never had a worse experience than with these people.
I tried to buy a $10 Starbucks gift card for a client, declined.
Balance transfers are not allowed, so forget attempting to pay and close the account.
I've been unsuccessful in attempts to change the account association.
Lesson learned.
Punishment for using the card normally
This was an excellent card that helped me start my business! Then they sent me a notice stating that due to high usage and high balance (not over-balance), they were adding on a business interest fee, which DOUBLED my interest rate. They said the only way I could avoid this fee was to cancel my account, so I did. This is a terrible way to treat a customer who is USING THE CARD NORMALLY, is never late on a payment, and frequently overpays. I have never had this happen with any other card. I'll never be back. What a terrible experience.
I am VERY UNHAPPY with Capital on Tap
I am VERY UNHAPPY with Capital on Tap! As a matter of fact, I am beginning to think this is a SCAM! I finally tried to use my card & it has been inactivated. ARE YOU KIDDING ME! I called & was told it was because they could not verify some of my information on my application. I FILLED OUT AN APPLICATION, WAS VERIFIED & RECEIVED A CARD FROM THEM OCTOBER! I have not used this card since I got it. I am LIVID & will not be quiet about this.
I will be saving all of my correspondence with Capital on Tap & submitting it to the Idaho Attorney General, the Better Business Bureau & any fraud department I can think of. There is no one in the United States to talk to.

Massive waste of time
I applied online nearly two months ago and despite excellent credit, received an offer for a fraction of what was requested at nearly 32% interest. This company has continued to call and email me relentlessly, going so far as to call on Sundays. I declined their offer and DO NOT want to be contacted with any more ridiculous offers (got as low as 6.5% interest from other institutions, the second highest was only 23% but the full $50k requested), yet they do not stop trying to get me to sign. Even if they came back with a great offer, I don't want to do business with a company that harasses business owners; I have plenty else to be dealing with.

Account was closed because I wouldnt…
Account was closed because I wouldnt provide the personal information of my clients. They asked for customer information associated with certain transactions and sharing names, addresses, phone numbers and tax id info would be a clear violation of privacy so i refused and account was closed the next day. Poor business partner!

For credit cards/lines of credit
For a company that is targeting financial services (credit card) for small businesses to help with purchases and Growing their credit score, they sure don't move at the speed of business. They constantly put holds on your payments, you will get a "congratulations" alert on your app saying your payment has been made, and then you look days later and it still hasn't been cleared... it says (inbound payment). They are about as fast as snail mail. I will give them a couple more months to fix, and if not, I am closing my account. Worthless company.

I recently had trouble logging into my Capital on Tap app — it kept saying my email and password were incorrect. I contacted customer service, and the representative I spoke with (Reference: USZ296H14) was absolutely fantastic! She was kind, patient, and extremely knowledgeable. She took the time to walk me through every step and quickly helped me regain access to my account.

Need better approval process
I got denied for a card not for anything with my credit but because whatever system they use didn't associate my business address with me. There is no way to reapply for 6 months or way to turn it around. My business address is not my home address so I was denied because of that. They need a better process so people can provide verification that they have an association with their business addresses.

Seemingly shady practices
I received a mailing here in the US for a business account. I've heard of We Bank, the company issuing the card so I apply. I go through the process, link my business account via Plaid and get "approved". I generate a virtual card and low and behold it's declined twice the next day with a decline message "account not active". I call and get some call center, not the actual financial company I apy with. They inform me of an email that was sent. I look and I'm being asked for color PDF copies of bank statements for 90 days...vie email.
I have no issue providing details, normally, but the whole process in the US of linking banks via Plaid is that they have full access to my balance and transaction history. Why then the need for statements? OK. But via email? No. No place to upload in the portal...you know, like most other banks. Needless to say, I tell them to cancel the application because I'm not emailing anything. I get another email telling me to download all my statements and redeem points and my account will be closed in 10 days. The account that was never opened because my apication wasn't complete due to said bank statements. Shady as hell. I've now been issued a new checking and debit card number by my bank because this story seems off to them also. They also revoked Plaid access for me since I opted to link future accounts as well. Watch out for this place if you're in the US. Seems maybe OK in the UK but not sure what they are up to here.

**Capital on Tap: A Cautionary Tale**
I feel compelled to share my experience with Capital on Tap, a company that I believe exploits struggling businesses. They remind me of the predatory practices of Credit One, targeting vulnerable companies in need of financial support.
Recently, I was offered a business credit card with a limit of $8,000—but at a staggering interest rate of over 35%. To make matters worse, they requested an extensive list of notarized documents, including my Social Security Number, birth certificate, driver’s license, two years of bank statements, and two years of IRS tax returns.
In response, I firmly declined their request. (I COULD NOT CURSE ON HERE) The time and effort required to gather those documents would cost me far more than the $8,000 they were offering; I could potentially earn $15,000 during that same period.
For context, my personal credit score exceeds 850 across all major credit monitoring services, and my business currently has a $30,000 Credit Card with Wells Fargo at a much more reasonable 12% APR. Yet, Capital on Tap thought it appropriate to offer me a mere $8,000 at an outrageous 35.65% interest.
This experience has been nothing short of a joke and a waste of time. I urge anyone considering Capital on Tap to think twice before engaging with them. Protect your business and your financial well-being—don’t fall into their trap!
