Avoid like the plague!
Purchased a Lexus from Car Planet on 4th June 2026. Before collection, I test drove the car with no damage to the front bumper, and staff explicitly agreed all outstanding work would be completed before I collected it.
On collection day, three problems were found: a boot hydraulics fault causing a loud jamming noise, interior door scratches that were meant to be buffed out, and a brand new crack on the front bumper that was not there the week before.
Staff (Andrew and Hussein) confirmed all of this themselves and admitted the price didn't reflect the car's actual condition.
I waited 2.5 hours at the dealership while they "checked with the workshop." Andrew personally promised I could leave and that he'd call within days with either a free repair or compensation. That call never came. After-sales (Kleo) made the same promise. Also never honoured.
Since then, every phone call to after-sales has been cut off after roughly 20 minutes on hold. Emails go unanswered. No one has proactively contacted me once.
Weeks later, two of the three faults are still unresolved, and the third (the crack) was reportedly made worse by their own workshop trying to fix it.
I've sent a formal letter before action. If this isn't resolved, I'll be pursuing a County Court claim, a card chargeback, an FCA complaint, and a Trading Standards report.
Avoid this dealership unless you enjoy chasing people who don't fulfil promises. I even emailed the Founders/messaged on linkedin and they all have ignored.

Yesterday bought car from car planet, and found defects in the car .
They sold the car with hidden defects, now the worst part there after sales support are not picking phone.

Delays and inefficiencies that could have been avoided
I had phoned the day before saying that I was interested in buying the car when I was there and how long would the process take. I was told that I would be sent a video on the day showing the car and that I would it only take 2 hours for the car to be ready if I bought it. As it was 6 1/2 hour roundtrip it was time critical. Sadly it took 4 1/2 hours to buy the car, as it was not fully ready inc a missing parcel shelf and scratches that had to be negotiated on the price. On the way home I then had to adjust the tyre pressure as they were incorrect. Not the level of service I expect when I prewarned that I would be driving such a difference. Although the staff were polite and kindly tried to deal with my complaints the processing system could not manage the number of sales on a Saturday which led in efficiencies and poor customer service.

Where is my £3000
I am updating you on the progress with Car Planet as expected, None! I have contacted the RAC for my £3000 that car planet "gave them for warrenty" that I do not want their service and for the money to be returned to me, I'm still within the 14 day money back guarantee, after taking my detail RAC they states that they do not have any money from Car Planet, that car planet actually hold onto the money, that I should ask for them back for the money.I contacted car Planet the voice message says that they would respond to my call in 15 seconds after 22 minutes someone answered asked the nature of my call " Isaid I wanted to cancel the RAC product they sold me for £3000 the caller then said we don't give back the money,I explained RAC was a product I didn't ask for. He asked me for the car registration a d asked me to hold I waited 30 min knew no one was coming back, so I have now contacted the financial ombudsman, if the financial service Close brothers only have £500 of my money, where has the rest of my £3000 gone, RAC says they have not been given my £3000 it stays with Car Planet, so then what have they done with £3000 of my money I want back, this is too time consuming to big for me, being tossed back and forth,so I am making a complaint to the auto ombudsman. I will update you with the outcome.

** To add to this review is the FACT that in order to make them attempt to look professional they ask me to email them. Don't be fooled. I'm still waiting for a reply to the email sent the 9th March to them asking for my deposit back. I mean it does look good and efficient if they copy and post the same message to each negative review to try and cover up themselves. Needless to say, the only way I got it back was via a phonecall, where the polite gentleman on the phone actually yawned whilst I was speaking to them.
If I could give this company zero stars I would. I consider myself a lucky individual to have found Facebook groups, 'Car planet planet- affected customers' and 'car planet watford' prior to signing anything and decided given the lies and issues I had not to purchase the car. Luckily I am an individual that after a small battle, lots of ignoring, but received my deposit back and this is literally the only thing I can be grateful for. Some of the other customers issues make me grateful that I pulled out when there was no explanation for the EML being on in the fiesta on me enquiring. I am also now seeing reviews of car planet which are highly dubious given they dont actually review car planet at all. I'm guessing this is car planet acting in a bid to remove all the low and genuine reviews and have fake 5 star reviews to cover up.
Which also shows how unprofessional they are alone.

Overall my experience with car planet was very good. The sales person that dealt with me was polite, knowledgeable and professional. The after sale person was exactly the same, although we were left waiting to be seen to quite a while. Having said that I was very satisfied with the level of service I was provided.

Avoid buying anything from this place…
Avoid buying anything from this place at all costs. I went to car planet to purchase a new car and at first the customer service was good, I seen a car i liked, which was a vauxhall mokka. When the car was brought out for me to test drive, the sales rep informed me that the car was in good condition and had just been serviced and had one years mot on it, but there was a slight problem with the central locking, that needed to be fixed, the only door that would open was the drivers door. I was told that it would be fixed and ready for collection on Monday . ( I went on a Saturday) I paid for the car. Monday by 12pm I'd not heard from them, I kept calling and would be put in a queue for up to 40 minutes and then cut off. When I did get through, someone would take my details and promise that someone would call me with an update. No one did after two days of constantly calling them, they finally said my car was ready to collect on the Wednesday.
2 weeks after driving the car, I started getting clunking noises from the car, which sounded like the engine was going to fall out. So I called them and told the after sales team the issue was. I had to wait 10 days to book the car in to be looked at. Then on my way to work the day before it was due in, I was driving down the motorway on my way to work and the car lost power and the engine temperature gauge went up and smoke came out of the exhaust. I waited 7 hours for the rac to come to me when he got there he informed me that the thermostat wasn't working and thankfully he towed my vehicle to their Enfield branch where it was booked in the following day.
I was told that someone will get back to me the next day. No one got back to me and I spent 2 hours trying to get through to someone. I sent emails that no one responded to. I finally got through to someone helpful who found out what was happening, to be told that the car hasn't been looked at yet.

In my opinion this company sells faulty cars and hope they last long enough that they don't have to repair or refund them. My son bought a car, he had it 2 months and it lost all acceleration while he was driving on a motorway at 70. It was a miracle he wasn't killed!
After contacting Car Planet, it took them over a week to collect the car and then a further week to diagnose the problem... a melted spark plug resulting in the car needing a replacement engine! We waited and were given no information as to when the car would be repaired. We have formally rejected the car now and are having to go through small claims court to get a refund.
There are lots of poor reviews on here and Facebook groups dedicated to the poor service and faulty cars sold by this company. Please read them first!

We have had extensive correspondence since the date of purchase. However, since I submitted my final letter of rejection and requested clarification on several points to enable me to provide a full update to my legal representative, you have failed to respond to my emails or return my telephone calls.
My emails have been successfully delivered and, where applicable, acknowledged. This was also confirmed during my telephone conversation with Kyla on 30 June, when I requested to speak directly with Cara Murphy.
It does not surprise me that, by your own admission, you are dealing with a high volume of enquiries. As this is your after-sales department, one can only assume that the volume of customer complaints is considerable. This appears to be consistent with the experiences shared across various online review platforms and social media groups, including facebook:

Be Warned
Hi Folks,
I bought a Kia Sorrento june 25th took it to my local garage to have it checked over, he said i needed all new brakes and although he would have passed an MOT as advisory some other garages may have failed the MOT because of the state of the brakes.
The cost of new brakes just under £1000

I have communicated this to the after sales service including proof of cost and photo's.
Please don't be surprised that they are not even responding back to me. I did even say apart from brakes i like the car
As they have even refused to respond to my reached a Deadlock letter i am now having to pursue this through a third party.
If you do still want to buy a vehicle from these people you will properly understand there way of doing business when they will spend so much more time on persuading you to buy their very expensive warrenty than details of the car or any after sales CUSTOMER SERVICE.
I am sorry to say they are a case of SALE & FORGET, which i fell for.
Please be warned get the car checked before you buy, but i doubt they will let you.
I expected nothing less than their standard reply which is useless, if they really cared about their reputation or Customer service why don't they take the time to contact me to try to resolve any issues.
they have my details. I have contacted them 4 times by email and have not had 1 reply.
This is because they are purely interested in flogging their warranty at £1000 then forgetting about you.

Don't buy . All Google positive review are fake
I visited this dealership to view a Mitsubishi that was listed as available online. However, when I arrived, I was informed that a deposit had already been taken on the vehicle. It would have been courteous to let me know before I made the trip, which would have saved me both time and inconvenience.
Instead of acknowledging this, the salesperson repeatedly tried to persuade me to look at other cars that I had no interest in. I felt pressured rather than assisted, which made the experience uncomfortable.
When I explained that I wanted to discuss any purchase with my wife before making a decision, the salesperson made inappropriate comments, suggesting that “wives never agree.” I found these remarks unprofessional and unnecessary.
Overall, this was a very disappointing experience. Poor communication, high-pressure sales tactics, and inappropriate comments left a negative impression. Unfortunately, I would not recommend this dealership.
