Had been contacted by the number +44 7466 628419 , arranged for next day collection and suddenly before the time agreed got a message saying I can't make it to changed my mind.

I requested a valuation through Car Salvage Group and almost immediately started being bombarded with calls, texts and WhatsApp messages from multiple different mobile numbers.

Within minutes of requesting the quote, one number called me repeatedly over and over again despite me actively declining the calls. I was then contacted by other agents by text and WhatsApp, including one asking me to send my address because they wanted to "come now to take it". Another person repeatedly rang me through WhatsApp until I eventually blocked them.

The calls and messages continued until around 9:30pm last night. I have a young baby who they were waking up with the constant calls, which made the whole thing even more frustrating.

Then, after all of that, the same number that had repeatedly called me the night before rang again at 8:25am this morning and woke us up.

I understand that requesting a quote means agreeing to be contacted. I expected a phone call or message about the valuation. I did NOT expect my number to apparently be passed around to multiple people who would then repeatedly call, text and WhatsApp me from different numbers for hours.

There is absolutely no need to call somebody again and again when they are actively declining your calls. Leave a message and allow them to respond when convenient.

The sheer amount of contact completely put me off using the company. What should have been a simple car valuation turned into me having to decline calls and block numbers just to get some peace.

There seriously needs to be better control over how your agents contact potential customers. One call or message is enough. This was intrusive and completely excessive.

I certainly won't be using Car Salvage Group after this experience.

I wanted to get a quote for my car, which is 12 years old but running smoothly, got it fixed recently etc.

Wanted to quickly get rid of it, so I contacted this company. They said they won't buy my car which is completely fine, however the operator started talking me into giving the car away for free??? He said no one is going to buy it, collect it, I should just give it away for free?? I only mentioned that I feel uncomfortable with this conversation and he called me an idiot...how professional :)

Manager to sell the car for over a thousand somewhere else, this is a disgrace.

I applied for a quote from them and only 1 company contacted me so I assumed that was the highest bidder , they offered me £330 for my scrap SUV which was £100 over what everyone else had offered, the company I dealt with through carsalvage group were called Ashley Transport limited based in Preston their reviews are 5 star so I decided to go ahead with them , carsalvage group then sent a text where I had to input my bank details and agree my offer , the driver from ATL then contacted me to arrange time for the following morning he was great, on time etc after 4 hours i still hadn't recieved any money in the bank so I panicked and rang ATL and they authorised the payment immediately and it landed I my bank a minute later , I appreciate this may look like an ATL review but I was contacted by them through the carsalvage group and I wanted to report a good experience from using their service

Beware of scammers from @car salvage group I submitted a scrap car to be collected and was phoned by someone called Declan from number 07795203553 who said they would pay £450 due to the engine and box going to export I accepted and he arranged collection for today 13/5/26 some man with a flat cap Irish accent turns up checks my id then loads the car on the truck then asks to see the v5 which then he signs over to the motor trade he then gives me a receipt and got me to sign it he then said they take the car to there yard (unknown place) and do stolen checks etc then money would be in the bank, a couple of hours passed and still no payment so phoned them and he said drivers on his way back once they check the car they would send the money then I sent a text to him and he phones me up and says unfortunately the engine is not fit for purpose so they could only offer £260 I said fair enough Is that the full amount which will go into my account and he says yes then I received a payment of £70 so I text again asking why only £70 he said due to admin fee and recovery cost but not once did he state there would be costs to pay
Then he's getting high rate saying I might get speeding tickets or bus lane tickets for the scrap car

I am writing to formally complain about my recent experience selling my vehicle to Comryas Conya Motors (scrap company), located at Elms Farm Industrial Estate, Bedford, MK41 0GB.

On the initial telephone call, I spoke with a representative named Tom, who offered to purchase my vehicle for £400. I explicitly asked whether the full £400 would be paid by bank transfer on the same day the vehicle was collected, and I was assured that this would be the case. Based on this clear agreement, I accepted the offer.

The vehicle collection was booked for Wednesday 4 February at 10:00am from Gants Hill, IG2 6NT. This location was used as my parking permit at my home address in Bethnal Green had expired.

On the day of collection, the driver, Andy, arrived at approximately 10:00am with he's pick up truck registration HS51 MON. He inspected the vehicle, confirmed it was running, and loaded it onto the recovery truck. All paperwork was completed, and the agreed sale price of £400 was clearly written on the documentation. At no point during this process was I informed of any additional recovery or administration fees.

Shortly afterwards, at 12:14pm, I received a call from Tom confirming that a test payment of £10 had been sent to my bank account under the name of Simon Mcdonagh. This payment was received successfully. I then awaited the remaining £390.

Later, upon checking my bank account, I was shocked to discover that only £88 had been paid in total, rather than the agreed £400. I immediately contacted Tom to query this discrepancy. I was then informed, for the first time, that recovery and administration fees had been deducted from the agreed price.

I strongly dispute this. At no stage during our telephone conversation or during the vehicle collection was I informed that such fees would apply. Had this information been disclosed, I would not have agreed to sell my vehicle. While there is a small-print clause on the paperwork referring to recovery and administration fees, this clause appears below the signature section and was not brought to my attention prior to signing. The agreement was entered into based on the verbal confirmation that £400 would be paid on the day, in full.

I believe this constitutes misrepresentation and a lack of transparency. I relied on the assurances given to me and acted in good faith. As a result, I have been left £302 out of pocket. I also wish to highlight that I could have sold the vehicle privately for at least £500, as it had been advertised on AutoTrader. Due to my recent job loss and urgent financial circumstances, I opted for a quick sale through a company I believed to be acting honestly.

This experience has caused me significant distress, financial hardship, and loss of trust. I feel that I have been deliberately misled into selling my vehicle under false pretences.

I am formally requesting:

1. Full payment of the outstanding £302 to bring the total received to the agreed £400; and
2. Written clarification of how these undisclosed fees were applied.

If this matter is not resolved promptly, I will have no option but to escalate my complaint to the relevant regulatory bodies and seek further advice regarding my legal rights.

I’d give 0 stars if I could. Completed the details online. Exchanged texts and spoke to one of the team. Agreed a price and collection, nobody showed. Since been ignored. Very disappointing

Horrendous company. Put my details into the website for valuation including phone number then within seconds was bombarded by phone calls from 3 different numbers. I answered and kindly asked them to stop calling then proceeded to receive more calls. I blocked the number and then immediately started receiving calls from another unknown mobile number. I have blocked them all now and absolutely will not be dealing with this business. Its just pure harassment. Avoid.

If it was possible to give a NEGATIVE score, I would give it!
Dealt with a very rude car salvage agent and was told to go f..k myself only because I explained that I thought my car was worth more than he was offering for it.

Everything went well,collected car next day, price agreed, but tried to haggle once here, took the car, within 3 days got a £100 parking fine for parking in a hospital in Coventry ( I live in Mansfield)stay clear, terrible company

DO NOT DO IT, Absaloute scumbags will tell you 100% they'll pay you 1250, they write 1250 on invoice then only pay 250 claiming the 1 at the start is actually a pound sign as they are pure scumbags purely out to do people over.

Happened to me last night. After being offered £1250 for my vehicle only £250 was transferred to my account. When I spoke to person on the phone who had offered me the £1250 he denied that he had said that. They absolute liars and con men….Irish travellers I believe. Called some called Patrick whose name appeared on my bank statement with the payment and he denied all knowledge. These people are absolute scum. Beware and please don’t deal with them.

Leark motors auto salvage one of the biggest scam companies out there do not sell your car to them or scrap it with them. Run by a bunch of travelers (Irish) will take your car away and pay you next to nothing for it please be warned!!

What a joke this company is promised to pick up a car been waiting all day. promised a good price for the car and now the same not answering the phone should take the licence from them

Chap called to say he’d pick the car up next day at 8:30am. No pick up. Didn’t answer phone when I called him to see where they were.

The advert makes this company sound honest and reliable, just a few car details on line and your phone number and they will pay you above average scrap price which for my van was £200, just literally put my details in when the phone rang and a man with a foreign accent said in an angry voice " how much do you want for the van" I said that you are supposed to give me a quote, angry man, " seeeextee queed" can not say what I replied but I hung up straight away, bunch of total fakes.

I’ve just had the same experience as a few of the other contributors in this group. Joseph Patrick McDonald picked up my car - offered £600 and paid £125. Keep ringing with no response and saying they will pay. Avoid this company at all costs. They gave me a receipt with Leark Motors on receipt- I looked it up. It doesn’t appear.

Well I had few calls one person called Chris from Nottingham spoke with agreed a very good price came on time paid in full well mannered will pass his details on to friends and family if they need to scrap there cars.

Usually so hot on reviews etc but we fell victim to the stolen cars too. Wish we’d read these prior to collection.

How this website is still running is beyond me?!
