CBK provides water based adventures in a safe and supervised environment. The safety and comfort of their patrons and members is a priority whilst meeting the needs for differing abilities and requirements.

Friendly, helpful staff, lessons / club sessions are always fun regardless of the weather conditions.

As I bought myself a kayak and was pottering about in the surf I though I would try out the Intrepid adventures. I’ve been on two of these so far, both trips up rivers. The first the Wansbeck and as much fun was had I followed up with a paddle up the Coquet.

On both trips there was a mix of kayakers and paddle boarders. We rendezvoused at a nearby cafe to discuss experience, what we wanted from the day and got a few tips from the instructor for the day. Tips included spotting and avoiding hazards on rivers, planning approaches and tools to help. My 16 year old daughter joined me on the first trip up the Wansbeck on a glorious sunny day, Launching from a great spot we had a great time navigating up stream including getting over the weir. The second trip was from the mouth of the river at Amble, up past Warkworth and some skills building in the small rapids near the weir. I have to say one of best ways to explore the coastal waters and rivers of Northumberland. I enjoyed the relaxed approach so much that I decided to join the club so I could go out regularly, develop skills and have fun on the water.

I’ve now been out about 6 times on members sessions which have all been a bit different but all fun. Highlights have included paddling to the priory and back, navigating crab island, practicing self rescues in the waves and lots of fun games with fellow members. Perfect way to finish the day after a hard days work for me.

Everyone at CBK is friendly, knowledgeable and really helpful. Couldn’t recommend high enough.

CBK are excellent, the team are friendly and know their stuff. I always feel safe even when we are out in conditions I am not used to. Love the intrepid paddler series as I get to go places I haven’t paddled before.

Booked a private kayak lesson, instructor brilliant, offered tailored coaching and took us out for a fab mooch around the bay with regard to conditions on the day. Loads of tips and pointers for future trips too!

CBK Adventures have a fantastic setup for SUP lessons, board hire, trips and clubs. The helpful and friendly staff will give advice on things like recommended kit, repairs and good paddling spots etc

Fantastic service and great staff! I’m a member of CBK and regularly take part in their members only sessions as well as other tours and lessons they run. The staff are extremely knowledgeable, helpful and friendly. Sessions are great fun but also a fantastic opportunity to learn from the experts. I would highly recommend to anyone wanting to try out a new paddle sport or to those looking for a club to make friends with like minded folk and have adventures.
