CEFALY WONDERS
I had daily pain before CEFALY and I no longer have the pain. I use CEFALY as a preventative as well as therapy and I use it twice a day. The short acting program. That’s a blessing to have a normalized life thanks to this device!

They were very nice about the return and send me a label for return postage. My experince with the device was devastating. I suffer from PHN, that's pain after shingles that remains. My neuroscience doctor, suggest that device, no knowing if it would work but it has a 90 day return so I would get my money back if it's a fail. After one experience on the low level, for 20 minutes. The nerve on the left side flared instantly. My PHN pain, became a level 10. I'm days out from using it once and still it's ignited that nerve and I'm still reeling. So all this to say if you suffer from PHN please do not use it for facial pain. A few other issues were the patches don't stick well, and their customer service has limited English and communication was so difficult. Best to stick with emails.
I have been using cefaly for just over 4 months now and I have to say I have seen a noticeable improvement in my migraine frequency and intensity. I have chronic migraine with daily severe migraines and now I am having days without migraine and the migraines are generally less severe and easier to treat. As a note this is not the only treatment I am on, I have regular botox treatments at the headache clinic per the neurology clinic and have been having cgrp injections for a few years. I have had almost every drug and treatment under the sun and take multiple migraine supplements so when I say I can see a difference I mean it, even my husband has noticed it. Since buying the device I have used it religiously every day at least once and more at the beginning. It doesn’t take a migraine away completely in that it will return after a couple of hours but it does greatly reduce the intensity of pain and accompanying symptoms. I did find it hard to tolerate at first and it took me about 2 weeks to get up to full intensity, but I persevered, I still find it uncomfortable, especially for the first 15 minutes.
Regarding the electrode pads I guess I have been lucky with them as they are extremely adherent to my skin and I have only just now had to buy my second pack, they have lasted much longer for me than advertised.
All in all I am so glad I bought this device, I admit I was fully expecting to have to return it.
it's very expensive, the replacement pads are crazy expensive. I have the same problem. Just got a new pack (3 pads for 52$ delivered) and it fell off 1/2 way through. I have to tape it back on - and that changes the treatment. They won't do anything about it. I can't get 1 use out of a pad without taping it - which changes the way the device works. They say you should get 20 - which is crazy.
The Cefaly device itself is genuinely promising. When it works, the stimulation can be effective in easing migraine symptoms. Unfortunately, the experience is undermined by the terrible software. The iOS app feels like an unfinished prototype: it forces constant reconnections, even mid-session, which is the last thing you want during a migraine. Worse, the device doesn’t remember its pairing code -- you have to effectively re-pair it every time you open the app. Basic controls are missing or broken: you can’t adjust intensity from the app, and once you pause a session there’s no way to unpause it.
Cefaly has clearly invested in building solid hardware but has under-invested in the software that controls it. The result is a frustrating, broken user experience that diminishes the effectiveness of an otherwise good device. Until they take the app seriously, this product feels half-baked.
I have been using my Cefaly Device for 2 years. I think it is absolutely brilliant. I use it in a severe migraine attack in addition to my other my migraine medication and I find the attack clears within a few hours. If I do not use the device and take the medication alone, I can have the attack for many more hours. It takes a bit of getting used to, feels quite an odd sensation but so does the pain of a migraine! Thank you to the makers of this little wonder, I am never without it wherever I go :)
I have had my cefaly a few days. So far I have found it helpful. It takes some getting used to and is pretty intense, but already I have noticed the acute mode is helping calm my chronic (every day) migraine. For a couple of hours afterwards my pain remains fairly mild and the overall course of my migraines has been less severe. It has given me hope for the first time in ages! It hasn’t been a total cure though and hasn’t fully aborted a migraine, but anyone with hideous chronic migraine knows not to expect miracles.
I am hopeful that I will see effects from the preventative mode too. The full intensity on both modes becomes pretty unbearable (for me as a beginner) but the ability to limit the intensity is helpful. Even though I do experience some side effects like nausea and vertigo during/after treatment. It is temporary though and much less severe than the symptoms caused by my migraine so I will tolerate it. I wish there was an ability to check/control intensity via an app (as per previous versions) as it is difficult to know if I’m increasing intensity each session or not.
My one BIG bugbear with this product is the flashing light. When I first used cefaly during the day it wasn’t an issue. At night/ when in a darkened room it becomes something of a torture. It is somewhat sadistic to expect a migraine patient to attach a flashing light to their forehead and tolerate it flashing every couple of seconds for an hour. Even with my eyes closed it exacerbates my migraine. How did this pass user testing?! Apparently it was a requested feature. Did the testers not have photophobia?!My cefaly is now covered in light blocking stickers. Sadly they don’t stay on for long and I need a long term solution. Cefaly, PLEASE release a version of this product without a light. It would be such a game changer.
I’ve been using Cefaly for about 5 years now and I haven’t found any other device that compares.
I use it mostly for migraines or tension headaches, and it really excels at relieving the pain. 5/5
I also use it for anxiety or when I suspect a panic attack may occur. I would give it about a 3/5 for that.
I actually prefer the original model over the new one. But my original recently stopped working. So I’ve been using the 2.0 version, and while it is still good, it doesn’t seem quite as powerful.
But all in all, I think Cefaly is a great device. And I am not easy to please!
Broke after less than 3 months of use. Slow, very slow response via email--as in NONE. Finally called the US number and got a response, although was told wrong information about sending it back and was then informed I would have to PAY to return a defective item, still under warranty and they refused to reimburse me, only offering, quite rudely, finally via email from someone answering the non-US email finally, some electrodes (which were already offered by the US guy for the inconvenience and poor/lack of response in the first place). Sent the tracking number via email as instructed and still waiting for a response. How ridiculous for such an expensive, crappy piece of plastic and rude response to people who are in pain. Go elsewhere.
