ChatDeal is a total nightmare. Bye Bye Kayak…

Kayak was for many years -- until this month -- my go to travel search engine. But no more...never again. Just experienced the worst travel booking experience ever, in 50 years of domestic/int'l travel. Suddenly my bookings via Kayak got me dumped into some shady outfit called "ChatDeal." What followed were cancelled bookings for no reason, then after I rebooked the same flight directly via the airling, ChatDeal -- out of the blue -- reconfirms the booking they earlier cancelled! Happened multiple times with bookings for differnt family members. Endless confusion of cancellations/confirmations not initiated by me. Hours of time wasted phoning customer support, booking, getting confirmation, then getting notice of cancellation 2 days later. What is ChatDeal anyway? It appears to be either a scam or a horribly glitchy AI driven platform. I dread trying to extract a refund for duplicate bookings made by ChatDeal.

My experience was common. Check out the hideous online reviews on BBB, TrustPilot and everywhere else. Why would Kayak self-destruct like this? Never, ever searching/booking via Kayak again....because they dump you into a horror show called "ChatDeal"

If I could, I would give it zero stars.

Tried to cancel right after purchasing…

Tried to cancel right after purchasing a ticket. Did not know that booking through Kayak meant I'd be booking through this 3rd party until I got confirmation of booking. On their website, they claim that it's possible to cancel within 24 hours of booking. I called them to get this going & they transferred 3 times & spent over an hour total on the phone before with them. They claimed they needed to call back in 30 minutes. The agent on the phone was rude. Waited for their call but never got it. The next day, they sent an email saying they couldn't help and they claimed they made multiple attempts to reach me. Blatant lie. Never using them or Kayak again.

Chatdeal is the BIGGEST SCAM when it comes to purchasing flights / tickets.

Chatdeal is a third-party agency often found through Kayak, engages in bait-and-switch tactics, such as quoting low prices and then claiming they are invalid, demanding more money, or delaying refunds for months. Victims often report flights that never existed, non-functional booking references, or tickets that were never issued. I bought an international ticket with them and faced this exact scam by them. I tried to push back and complain but with no success.
Price Changes: After booking, I received calls and emails claiming the price increased, forcing me to pay more, a common practice by Chatdeal.
Non-existent Bookings: Tickets booked through Chatdeal may not be recognized by airlines, leading to travelers having to re-buy tickets.
Actionable Advice for Victims:
File a Chargeback: Immediately file a dispute with your credit card company for services not rendered.
Contact the Airline: Verify the booking directly with the airline, not through Chatdeal.
Document Everything: Keep all chat logs, emails, and call recordings.

Kairum was very effective; moved through the required systems with ease, and accomplished everything that i was seeking at the time. This is a scam website. Do not use. We are waiting for a refund on seats purchased because chatdeal did not hold their end of the deal and provide us the seats we purchased. Their agent asked to cancel and provide a full refund but even after 3 months we are waiting for a refund.

Back in 2022 in April

Back in 2022 in April, we purchased a ticket from Chicago to Lebanon for more than a month, only $672.00 that was a great deal, but in the middle of my husband's vacation he fell and didn't pay much attention to the wounds and 15 days later he needs to come back to the US, he called me and asked me if Chatdeal can change the deal and it was emergency same-day ticket to come back, by the way, his ticket was two ways, and they just asked me for 15 minutes to find a ticket for him to come back and with additional 400.00 dollars, my husband just made it on time to amputation of his left leg below the knee before it got out of control. He survived that ordeal and lived 2 and a half years more, he just recently passed away. When I read some of the reviews calling Chatdeal spam I was so disappointed with the person because customer service and online agents worked excellently beyond the fact that the ticket itself with all editions and changes didn't even cost us a one-way ticket to Lebanon total of 1072.00. I came across the reviews because I need to purchase a ticket and I won't go with another travel agency. I need to buy a ticket for my son from LAX and also need a ticket for my sister-in-law from France, thank you for the outstanding service great job five star.

Do not use chatdeal. This site is a scam. They will take your money and never refund it, even after promising to do so. These ratings are fake. We are now fighting them through credit card dispute and have filed a complaint with the dept of transportation

CHATDEAL IS A SCAM!

On May 31st, 2024 I received an email notification that British Airways CANCELLED my flight. I was scheduled to depart to Berlin on June 1st, 2024. I contacted British Airways to inform them that I cannot rebook that flight in a different schedule. They informed me that they will refund my "Travel Agency" and that I must contact them.

I called Chatdeal's "customer service" number +1 855 920-9942 over 5 times already and the only thing they do is redirect you to fill-out a "Form" that they send you via SMS. I have filled-in that form over 3 times now.

After you submit the Form there is no response. I have been waiting for 3 weeks now for a refund of a round-trip flight from SFO to BER. I was stupid enough to also purchase the "Support Bundle" and the "Cancel for any reason" services. The total amount paid was $1,543.87, receipt number is K52DFA6.

KAYAK should be ashamed by using "partner companies" to be scamming their customers. No wonder they spend all that money on adds to allure new victims, I mean customers.

I am still waiting for customer service to respond and refund me.

En vuelo de vuelta de san Diego a…barcelona

En vuelo de vuelta de san Diego a barcelona existe un error de un mes . 12 de junio por 12 de julio. Al darme cuenta 36 horas antes intenté que cambiaran billetes. Me repitieron que no había vuelos para ese día y que tendría que esperar, además que el dinero no era reembolsable. Ni podían ofrecer otra solución siguiendo la política de la compañía.
En menos de 30 minutos obtuve billetes de vuelta pta el 12. Chatdeal no ofreció ninguna voluntad de pago reembolso o canje a pesar que los billetes del 12 de julio no serían usados.
Espero contestación y compensación.

Scam company:
Wish I had read the review before making a booking.
I bought ticket for return flight from England to Pakistan via Doha.

I received email a day before may return flight to MAN about certain schedule change and I found out that my booking on first flight from Pak to DOH was cancelled by the ChatDeal, though it was operating normally.
I had contacted airline who had advised to contact the travel agents directly for re-booking and refund. However, ChatDeal was unable to give any explanation to what had happened to booking and used lame excuses. I had to buy new ticket for that flight.
It's been over three weeks and yet they haven't refunded me the amount for cancelled flight. They have now stopped responding to my emails.

AVOID this scam company.

Incompetent or worse?

My wife stood at the airport checkin in Miami last night for a confirmed booking through kayak/chatdeal. Kayak said after payment that the reservation would be handled by chatdeal. She did receive exactly one whatsapp message saying the flight was successfully confirmed, but nothing else. When she rechecked the url because the airline did not have a reservation for her, the page content had changed to "cancelled" with a message to contact a phone number with the booking ID. When she called the given service number, they told her that they did not know anything about her booking code. The credit card payment for the everything but cheap transatlantic flight from Miami to Barcelona still shows as "Authorized - Chatdeal via Kayak" in my bank account, blocking the card from making a different booking. It is clear that no one was prepared to assume the responsibility for this situation. When this can happen with a flight reservation they do without any chance of an alternative flight or recompensation, the whole business model of travel agency / flight portal becomes worthless.
Update: They now fully charged my credit card for the cancelled reservation. I´ll handle this as fraud.
2nd update (May 13th): For what it's worth, I received the full reembursement into my credit card today, after an exchange via the contact form on their website. I can't say that this makes me entirely happy with what occured, but to remain fair they at least managed to sort this out.

I would give less stars if I could. I almost got scammed by them today also. I can’t believe Kayak sells our info to them. Basically everything was going well booking with Kayak through their legit partner justfly.com, and thought the charge went through but the card was rejected by my bank because they thought it was a fraudulent charge. I received a notification from my bank first and then went to try to re-book my ticket. This is when the weirdness started. The ticket showed up as a few dollars more but when I to pay I was sent to a different check-out page. As i was going to make payment a notification popped up that due to changes with the airline my tickets were each going to cost several hundred dollars more. I cancelled the transaction and went back to Kayak where it still showed the price as “only” just a few dollars more. At this point, I started to receive several phone calls from California numbers I ignored them at first, but as they’ve persisted, I decided to answer. One was from an agent at chatdeal who was definitely not in California probably in India somewhere. As I was speaking to him another agent from “Ovago” called on another line, she also was probably calling me from India. Both were telling me that due to issues with the airline itself I was not going to be able to purchase my flight at the original price, but they might be able to help me out. I decided to listen to the chatdeal as he called first. At this point he told me that the best price he could get me per ticket was $2880 round-trip, which was almost $800 more per ticket than the tickets I was going to purchase originally. He said he had “discussed this with his boss who offered me a good deal.” This all seemed a little sketchy. He then said he could text me the information and I could refill out my trip details. I had him send me the forms. Luckily, I said, I would fill it out without him there because there was another agent I wanted to talk to prior to filling them out. After I got off the phone I tried calling the other agent back and that number was a non dialable number. Luckily while all of this was going on I received yet ANOTHER phone call from justfly. The original agent connected with kayak that i had been booking my tickets with. He told me that my tickets have not gone through because my bank had blocked my card. I confirmed that this was true. He asked me if I wanted to purchase the original tickets, at this point, I was fearful he was going to quote some ridiculous price, but he quoted the original price, and I was able to purchase the tickets for the original $2000 r/t. What a total cluster. I just feel so lucky. Please beware of this company and Ovago and honestly be cautious with Kayak.com

A fuir!!!

Chat deal c’est l’opérateur de Kayak en achat direct. kayak est à fuir absolument pour l’achat s du billet.
J’ai réservé deux billets Toulouse NYC en novembre 2023 pour un voyage en mai 2024. Après 3 alertes successives de changement d’horaire où il m’était proposé le remboursement, j’ai perdu confiance. Ayant un timing très serre du fait de mon employeur, j’ai décidé d’annuler mon voyage. J’ai donc eu un chat en mars 2024 avec William, qui a été très sérieux et a cherché dans mon dossier si le billet était bien remboursable. Il m’a confirmé sur le chat que c’était intégralement remboursable.
Or, quand j’ai actionné la demande de refund quelques jours après, qu’elle ne fut pas ma surprise d’essuyer un refus, sous plusieurs raisons possibles :1/ j’ai acheté un billet non remboursable, 2/ les changements d’horaire sont trop mineurs, 3/ la compagnie british Airways refuse de rembourser.
Évidemment je tente de contacter Chatdeal par chat et par mail. Rien! Pas de réponse. Ils font les morts.
Je ne vais pas baisser les bras. Ce n’est pas normal d’avoir des fausses informations.! Je veux récupérer mon argent.

I booked through Kayak who is now owned…

I booked through Kayak who is now owned by Chat Deal. BIGGEST SCAMMERS EVER. They start calling you right after your booking to "upgrade your experience". Like 2-3 times a day harassing you. I booked an Economy international ticket and when I received the ticket (after taking 3 days to "confirm"), they did not include baggage. Chat deal quoted me $700+ to add bags each way. I called Luftansa airline directly and they were able to add all 3 bags both ways for $450 total. I was still not happy it said it was included and then not upon presentation of my tickets. THEN they said my flight was cancelled and MOVED THE ENTIRE RETURN FLIGHT to another day. When I called, they told me I would have to pay $10,500 to move my flight back to the initial date. Each day, they would send me a new email with the price to move the flight increasing by $1000 each day. Absolute scam. I called the airline and they were very understanding. They were able to move my flight back to the initial date at the same time I was told was cancelled. DO NOT USE KAYAK and avoid CHAT DEAL like the plague. If you research BBB you can read about these flight scams that are becoming so common now. I tried to attach the link but trust pilot won't let me. Just type in "BBB flight scams" in google search for article.
Only option in my mind is just booking directly with the airlines from now on.

A company full of criminals!!!!

The positive reviews on this website are bought and paid for. The negative ones are the true ones. Every word out of their mouth is a lie. Unfortunately, even though many settlements have been levied against them, there's not really anything you can do about it because the company doesn't actually exist. They use names like Juan and Pedro, but it's very obvious that it's just a bunch of Indians in a filthy hovel somewhere in India and they hate you just because you don't live in a hovel so they do not try to help at all. They basically stole $4,000 from us and when we reached out to kayak, kayak said "well, technically your contract was with Chatdeal so, eat s#it." After they postponed our vacation for months, and cost us no telling how many man hours just sitting on the phone because nobody at that company knows anything, then they try to charge us an extra $2,000 even though the price of the tickets that we exchanged for was almost identical. It's amazing that it's 2023 and companies like this are allowed to exist. We will be looking into class action, lawsuits against them and prosecution for fraud. If the civil stuff won't stick maybe the criminal stuff will.

EDIT: if you'll notice they gave us the same BS response as they give everybody. " Email us and we'll win you back!" I've been emailing these losers for three freaking years now. We found a flight to use our credits on and then they charge us an extra $1800 because of "taxes and fees". We immediately called American airlines and we have proof that there were no extra taxes and fees. They just overcharged us by $1,800. We are currently in the process of prosecution for fraud.

This company is just a scam

This company is just a scam! They were showing the price in EUR and then charged me in USD without prior notice nor my consent. I ended up paying more for this ticket because of that false information and the company rejects to refund me this price difference and extra charges. Will never use it again.

A fuir !

J'ai réservé un vol pour début mai, il n'y a même pas trois mois.
J'ai déjà reçu trois propositions de changement d'horaires. A chaque fois, ils proposent de rembourser, mais chaque fois, j'ai accepté. Sauf la semaine dernière : une heure après avoir répondu que l’horaire ne m'arrangeait pas, mais que j'avais besoin de mon vol, j'ai finalement écrit pour dire que je ne me sentais plus en confiance avec leur compagnie, à cause des changements trop nombreux (entre temps, mes billets, sur le site, indiquaient à nouveau l'horaire du vol après le changement n°1, j'avais reçu presque simultanément un billet pour dire que le vol (- lequel, du coup ? - était annulé, qu'il fallait me rembourser et un autre message pour dire que le 3e changement avait été validé.
Depuis que j'ai demandé un remboursement, je n'ai pas de nouvelle, Chatdeal fait le mort, et je suis très angoissée, car j'ai l'impression d'avoir donné près de 1500 euros à des escrocs.
Surtout que, les mails restant sans réponse, je suis allée essayer de les contacter sur leur site, mais, en tout cas sur PC, leur chat est désactivé, tout comme le lien vers leurs réseaux, et je ne vois aucun autre moyen de les contacter.

Edit : après avoir fait les morts, ils m'ont fait mariner quelques jours, sous prétexte d'une demande de remboursement à la compagnie aérienne, puis m'ont finalement déboutée, au bout de huit jours de cauchemar.

A chaque changement il est écrit sur le mail qu'on reçoit qu'on peut soit accepter le changement (en cliquant pour arriver sur la page de notre résa et y cliquer pour dire qu'on accepte le chagement), soit le remboursement. Les deux premières fois, j'ai suivi la procédure d'acceptation. La dernière, je n'ai pas suivi la procédure de changement, ai demandé un remboursement (et commandé un billet ailleurs), mais ils ont refusé l'annulation et le remboursement, en expliquant que le changement d'horaire subi était trop "mineur" pour que je puisse annuler, et que le mail qui disait "vous pouvez être remboursé" étant généré automatiquement, ça ne comptait pas... c'est injuste et surtout, illégal. Ils sont responsables de ce qu'ils envoient.

SI je récapitule :
- Commande initiale : 285/10, 10h31
- Premier changement subi :13/12, 14h33.
- Second changement subi :T11/1
- Mail qui dit qu'il n'y a plus d'avion : 16/1, 02h50. - Mail qui dit que finalement si, mais avec un 3e changement subi :16/1, 09h06. Je demande de trouver un horaire plus pratique, plus tardif, mais que bon, dans tous les cas, on ne peut rester coincés en Amérique.
- Mail de confirmation du 3e changement:T16/1, 11h22, donc deux heures plus tard. Je demande une annulation dans la foulée parce que les mails du matin m'ont stressée et que je n'ai plus du tout confiance.

Je précise qu'à chaque fois que je subis un changement, l'avion dont ils me décommandent part toujours, et à l'heure prévue, puisqu'il est toujours indiqué sur les sites de vente.

Les changements sont subis, jamais motivés, et le remboursement est refusé, alors qu'il était proposé noir sur blanc. C'est honteux.

A fuir absolument !

Edit n°2 : après deux mois et demi, plus de cinquante heures passées à envoyer des e-mails, à recevoir des mensonges (j'avais soi-disant accepté le changement, alors que non, le choix du remboursement relevait soit-disant de la compagnie aérienne alors que ce n'était pas du tout ce qui était marqué sur le mail, etc.), à voir la lettre recommandée que je leur avait envoyée retournée et ne jamais avoir de réponse lorsque je demandais l'adresse à laquelle je pouvais leur renvoyer la lettre recommandée (quelle entreprise honnête ferait cela ?), j'ai fini, quand j'ai diffusé la lettre recommandée et le refus de me donner une autre adresse, par recevoir un remboursement d'une grosse partie de la somme, début avril. J'en suis tout de même pour plus de 220 euros de ma poche, et plus de cinquante heures perdues en deux mois et demi de bataille. Chatdeal vient d'essayer de faire supprimer mon commentaire en invalidant mon expérience. Fuyez.

J'ai envoyé à Trustpilot un mail qui contenait :
- les mails de changement d'horaires avec promesse de remboursement
- la capture d'écran de ces promesses de remboursement
- un historique des derniers mails (fin mars / tout début avril), dans lequel le remboursement était toujorus refusé, les mensonges réitérés, et aucune adresse postale donnée, malgré mes demandes
- une photo de la lettre recommandée retournée à l'envoyeur

Je précise que la réponse de Chatdeal à mon commentaire n'a eu lieu que plus de deux mois et demi après la rédaction et publication du commentaire, quand le remboursement avait enfin été effectué (à 220 euros près).
