I don’t even have an account but they’re sending me texts.

Then a reply here on Trustpilot wanting me to click a link. After an unsolicited text with a phishing attempt. Not likely

Beware folks!

And the response from Clearpay is to set up an account?

Clearpay seem to have my phone number and are free to contact me at any time. This is their phishing ploy to get accounts opened

I would like zero stars but not an…

I would like zero stars but not an option. My account was hacked Sunday 15th December 2024. 8:30 pm. They logged into my account changed email and PW. I have written a few emails, I was requested to provide more info which I did, to be told sorry no record of you! We are now on Thursday and I recieved the 1st phone call even though I have been requesting one since Monday. Lots of apologies but again another email saying no record of me. I even provided info from an email that clear pay sent me, nope nothing, so I am no further forward. Some one has got into my account changed email, name phone number etc, I have had to stop my bank account and card, I have been unable to buy shopping as waiting for a new card etc great a few days before Christmas! Really really angry!! This company is disgraceful and reading the other reviews I wish I had never used them. People beware! Really worried my details have been used to obtain credit! After writing this and Clear Pay putting the comment below about emailing me, what a surprise.... nothing in mailbox! Who runs this company and how are they allowed to get away with this....

Account was ‘ randomly chosen for a…

Account was ‘ randomly chosen for a review’ after I paid off all orders early ( suspicious)
Went on live chat on the 14th December and 3 days later I’m no further foward, account still frozen after promises to get it resolved within 48 hours.

I have given enough time for this to be rectified and now since it hasn’t I will be taking this further.

Discusting the way you treat your paying customers !

I’ve been ignored point blank spoken to as if I don’t know why I’m talking about.. saying my payment don’t match with my bank account after proving the matching emails from yourself with the balance that was paid…

Get this sorted out asap! Joke!

Clearpay you disappoint me I'm up to…

Clearpay you disappoint me I'm up to date with my payments never missed and actually paid earlier than the dates required then all of a sudden bam my credit limit is zeroed. Ive contacted via app but getting a response is appalling I've had issues before not just this one
Your customer services needs to change im surprised anybody uses you at all

Taking candy from a baby!

Was doing ok with clearpay I was paying and credit was increasing nicely then went on to use clearance they took my remaining credit I had for NO reason and now I can’t use it! What’s the point of saying….here you go you have £800 to use…… then when you do your Xmas shopping bam! They take it away!

FRAUD!!

FRAUD!!! My clear pay Account got hacked on Monday they stolen £120.00 out of my bank account. The hackers have took over my account and they have changed the password, mobile number and email address.

Action fraud have been called. Now I can't get groceries for my children because I have to wait for a refund and my new bank card to come. Clearpay customer service is appalling.

I will be taking legal action through data breach this has caused me alot of distress.

Very similar case to some of the other reviewers. I ordered a jumper from Coggles for 200£. I never received the order because it wad cancelled by Coggles due to item being out of stock +2 weeks ago.

There is incompetence on 2 levels: Coggles for not updating accordingly, Clearpay to seemingly take 0 responsibility when merchants go rouge. Coggles issue is for another review but on Clearpay, I contacted customer service sending screenshots from Coggles clearly saying the order was cancelled but they are failing to stop the payments until the issue is resolved with the merchant. Klarna offers you to pause payments until your issue is resolved. Clearpay’s response was we can only pause if you have returned your order by mail and waiting for them to receive it. Is this a joke? What mail? The order was never received.

I have paid 3 instalments on an item I never had. I fail to see how they can get away with this and why they deem themselves not responsible when merchant is clearly problematic. The ask is not egregious. Pause payments until dispute is resolved. Simple. You don’t need to be innovative, just be half good ad Klarna or Paypal and we’ll be fine.

Wow.

Didn’t expect Clearpays reviews to be THIS bad but I’m not surprised.
I had an issue with Clearpay in 2021 similar to issues in other reviews. Clearpay seem to allow scammers to use their services and provide absolutely no help with this, unlike the likes of Klarna and PayPal etc. They offer no protection and even less help. I fell victim to one of the foul merchants Clearpay offer and after receiving no help from Clearpay, and after they sent debt collectors to receive my forth and final payment (for an item I didn’t have) that I paid - reluctantly - back in 2021 or 2022, they have sent a debt collector to me at the end of 2024 asking for THE SAME PAYMENT. Total scum, an absolutely vile company. Can only assume they’re trying to find ways to make back money they’ve lost from working with scammers. Haven’t found a single competent employee to deal with this issue, which should not be my problem.

Customer service beyond awful

Customer service beyond awful. Small issue has taken 2 months to fix and it's still not done. No one even reads the messages. If they do, they're too stupid to comprehend it and send you round in circles! I got a text asking me to send a photo of my ID and then I'm told we don't accept photos atm. Why bloody ask!!!!!

Don't expect any help if you're scammed

I placed an order using clearpay as I often do. I've been a loyal customer for years and the one time something goes wrong and they have completely ignored my concerns and been no help at all.

I bought a product that wasn't as described, opened a case which they closed in the merchants favour as the merchant didn't allow returns. This is a breach of UK Consumer Rights. Did they care? Nope.

Avoid like the plague, use PayPal or klarna because the stress I have had due to this isnt worth it.

Ive had to remove my card and report them and the company to trading standards. I want to pay off my other payments bar the one I was scammed for and they won't let me, just keep telling me to add my card to the app, which obviously I won't as I've already got my bank to block them from taking payments and now they're whacking on late fees! Wish I'd never used them. Awful company.

UPDATE:

I've been contacting you since 05/11/2024 regarding this. Even had to raise a complaint on Resolver, you've done nothing other than tell me I need to pay for it in full even though I've returned the item and sent you proof of this.

Signed up and was given a £450 limit

Signed up and was given a £450 limit. Tried to make a purchase for less than half of this amount and was declined, with no specific reason given. I made a complaint and the incompetent staff haven't given me a straightforward answer, only generic responses which do not answer my complaint. Wouldn't recommend.

My account has suddenly been frozen due…

My account has suddenly been frozen due to fraud check… clearpay want me to produce copies of my identity and produce bank statements to prove I’m making payments!!
Definitely not going to do this, have tried to contact clearpay with no answer. Surely the fact I make my payments and on time is enough evidence.
An email would have been nice to say my account is frozen, we are doing this as an identity check etc.
I have used the company for years with no hassle until now!

Have used for years with no issue

Have used for years with no issue. Today you have added £70 to my invoice increasing my fortnightly payment by over £20 for just 1 purchase. Usually it says it may take a little mor but as soon as the payment goes through it goes to what it should do. This time it hasn’t. And I cannot contact anyone urgently. It needs to be urgent as I cannot afford to pay that much extra every 2 weeks??? Why after years has it done this??? What am I unable to discus the issue with someone as a matter of urgency???

Better customer service

I am a pensioner, I want to talk to a human!!! Getting crossed wires with emailing, no straight answers, saying one thing then something else completely different, no wonder I am confused the sooner I pay them off the better.

Given £400 limit and used £125. Went to purchase something for £70 and was declined, various reasons given. If this money is assigned to you, surely it can be used in any way you wish. I am now going to use my credit card as I am not penalised in using this therefore will be cancelling my Clearpay account.

Do not do business with this company

Do not do business with this company. They are untrustworthy and have kept my money they have promised to refund. They don’t respond to emails quickly and if they do respond are not helpful, informative or even fair in their response. At this point in time I’ve waited months now for a refund. They don’t care about customers or how the fact they aren’t given me the money they said they would, is impacting my family. My complaint is ongoing and I will be reporting to trading standards now.
I already tried messages and emails get responses but you don’t carry out your actions.

Why put that reply on when you can see that I have contacted you by all ways possible and you just don’t respond???

If I could give 0 stars I would right now.
Still waiting on a refund from Clearpay, states on the app it was added on the 15th October but has still not reached my account yet. Unable to get in touch with anyone! Put through 2 forms already and no one has bothered to get back to me. Absolute joke!
