Brilliant service and excellent communication
My dad moved to a ground floor flat last year because he was struggling upstairs to his flat. His new accommodation had a small community which I felt he would benefit from, as he didn't have much daily interaction.
A year later and he still didn't really interact with many people and isolated a little in his new flat. He began to call me many times per week, including when I was in work. Issues regarding his medication, TV, health, you name it. Someone at his independent living suggested Company2You as a new company who could offer visits for a brew, chat and a listening ear. I enquired and we agreed to give it a trial for a month.
After a few visits, I checked in on dad to see how the visits were going. He immediately loved Paula and how friendly and understanding she was. She cleaned his kitchen, sorted his fridge (which was beginning to be a real danger to him due to out of date foods) and going shopping with him. He's had various care packages in the past and always complained that they didn't understand him and turned up at unsuitable times in the day to make his tea or breakfast. Plus they were often different, unfamiliar faces each time.
Fast forward a few months of Company2you visits and he has already increased the visits from 2 to 3 visits per week, and would increase this more (maybe he will).
Paula sent me messages after each visit and it was clear she cares for dad and understood his vulnerabilities and communicated them to me. It even prompted me to reassure Paula that, whilst much-appreciated, she didn't have to contact me every time if things were going well, although it was amazing to know that the feedback was so thorough. I was trying to save her the bother, not complaining about the fantastic communication.
Whilst Nicky doesn't see dad like Paula does, she is also in contact with me fairly regularly to see how things are going and to seek feedback. The service is far better than I ever expected and I would very highly recommend it to those in a similar position to dad. He loves to chat, moan and tell stories to people, but struggles socially to do this of his own accord. He's saved a little money since retiring - not a huge amount - but I can't think of a better way for him to spend some of it on Company2You's service, as it's proving to be possibly the best decision we've made in the last 10 years, and should've done this earlier.
The only regret I have is that I've never actually met Nicky or Paula, as I'm at work during visit times, but I would like to thank them personally for their compassion, understanding and genuine interest in dad's wellbeing over the past few months. If you ever need a recommendation, I couldn't speak highly enough.
Thank you
