There’s a lot of excuses about Brexit…

There’s a lot of excuses about Brexit here, and I’m no Brexiteer but we have to learn to do business with the continent better, more conveniently and economically viable. I ordered two boxes of wine glasses. The cost was ok and I was aware of the acceptable delay in delivery. One glass in one box was broken which was disappointing to immediately have a suite of 11 glasses! The business aspect comes back here…I won’t return them because I have to pay shipping costs plus to replace the box I have to pay shipping costs for the new box. It’s not worth it for one glass, but for a good product at the right price there has to be a better way to do business with the continent if the relationship is to develop and flourish, as we both need it to. I’m unlikely to order again until the terms/business efficacy are made more convenient/financially viable.

Delivery Too Complicated

Satisfied with item, but delivery delayed and complicated by need to pay Duty plus VAT plus Brokerage Fee amounting to over 30% of the item cost. Customers from UK need to be VERY careful since items are shipped from The Netherlands.

Due to Brexit, every shipment from the EU consist an import fee before it can be delivered. This is also stated at our website during checkout. These costs are determined by the UK government so we have no influence or information on this.

No communication around a damaged parcel. Avoid!

Parcel damaged and never delivered. It has taken over a month of chasing Etrias and DPD to find out it has been destroyed! No proactive communication from either of these parties.

Excellent service and customer service…

Excellent service and customer service especially as I got caught out ordering before Dec 31st and my delivery was after so I got a double hit on VAT and import duties. All sorted very quickly and my item delivered. Thank you.

UK VAT messages were not displayed…

UK VAT messages were not displayed during purchase.
now I'm being told they were, As they have now been added. Now it also displays a msg for return shipping costs.
web site has a .co.uk address, but is not located in the UK.
Import Fees = £40.75
UPS charges for paying the fee = £11.50 about 28%
of the import fees.
Stop selling in the UK if you are not based here.
a CO.UK web address would indicate you are UK based. YOU ARE NOT

We entirely understand your frustration at these circumstances and we sincerely apologise that a tariff now has to be added to the cost of your order.

This change in policy is unfortunately the result of Brexit, where the UK has left the EU. A tariff or customs duty must be placed on all parcels being shipped between the UK and EU-member states. Unfortunately, this policy is now EU and UK law, which means that is not within our power to change, adapt, or waive tariffs or duties placed on parcels that are shipped from our warehouse in the Netherlands to customers based the UK.

Once again, we are deeply sorry that we cannot do more for you and sincerely apologise for any inconvenience that this change in UK/EU trade law may cause.

Its not clear that this company is based overseas!

This company is based in the Netherlands, despite having a .co.uk domain and UK telephone number displayed. This was not made clear, also not clear was the Import VAT and customs duty that I would need to pay to the courier company (UPS) to receive delivery - because this company is based in Europe. Despite the customs and VAT being UK/EU law and obviously not something Cookwarestore can do anything about, it shows some deception on the company's part. If I was aware that the company was based overseas, I would have (unfortunately) ordered from a UK business. Not impressed. Extremely poor customer service too. Delivery delayed. AVOID.

As the UK has exited the EU, it is not treated under EU law anymore, therefore it has no free trade arrangements and a customs duty is imposed on imported goods. If you are not willing to pay those fees that is completely fine, then UPS will return the items back to our warehouse.

We understand that Brexit complicates the matters, not only for companies but individuals as well and apologize for any inconveniences caused.

Great selection of products

Great selection of products. I ordered 4 items, of which 2 were out of stock for delivery in time for Xmas. Etrias were very apologetic and very quick to offer me options: wait, select an alternative or be reimbursed. I had to opt for the latter for practical reasons and I was speedily reimbursed. Very good customer care in my experience and would recommend them.

I have not had a delivery for this…

I have not had a delivery for this product and still do not know when I will so disappointed is the only feedback I can offer.
Seems the customer service team are struggling to find my order but a separate email they sent today tells me it is in transit. Very confusing why they are saying they have no record of my order.

The order was cancelled after we had…

The order was cancelled after we had received a shipment notification. No explanation was given. No chance to order anywhere else in time for Christmas.

Excellent customer service

I contacted customer services because the delivery company botched my order. Etrias was superb - I had an immediate personal response, not the usual bland acknowledgement, and a speedy resolution. My replacement order arrived without problem. I will have no hesitation in ordering from this company again. Their prices are good too!

2 out of 8 bowl arrived broken. I believe this is all to do with the delivering company. Etrias Store was very understanding and professional and send me straight away a new parcel. Excellent service!
