Substandard goods
Visited our local Cooplands with our 2 Grandchildren for a little afternoon treat. Fortunately my husband’s and their cakes were good, unfortunately my vanilla slice was not good. It was flat and I pointed this out to the assistant, because it was the last one I didn’t have a choice. I asked if there was a reduction in price as it was half the usual size? She was very unfriendly and gave a firm ‘no’ saying that ‘they all came like that’! I didn’t believe a word of it and my husband didn’t want to make a fuss so he just paid for all 4 cakes.
My complaint is that if something substandard is delivered to the shop then it should have been returned or offered at a reduced price in the shop. I also wonder if the staff are given any in house training regarding politeness to customers, do they realise where their jobs actually come from- the customers themselves!! I definitely won’t ever make a purchase from this brand again, back to baking my own in future.
