I had a lot of nerves initially going into the online supervision course - however, I have found the experience to be incredibly supportive and informative.

Resources are structured very well and the support from my tutors has been fantastic. I would highly recommend counselling tutor for anyone looking to take the step into clinical supervision.

Very well put together course, fantastically delivered by Paul and Chantal with Ed always on hand for any tech difficulties.
Content and speed of course were spot on, and blended learning suits those with busy lives really well.
Great opportunity to learn from and connect with peers too.

The training delivered met my hopes. I feel confident to embark on my journey as a supervisor in training. Both Nora and Sally-Anne bring something special to the learning with their knowledge and kindness, it really does make an impact. A shout out to Ed who helped with all technical stuff he really was a star and his approach was so thoughtful and kind. A therapist in the making I am sure.

Exceptional tutor Nora held the group perfectly and shared as well as modelled throughout her vast skills and experience in this area. Learnt so much and also gained confidence and reassurance in the work I am doing. Liked the format of individual learning via recordings followed by live interactive/group work zoom sessions. Great suggestions for further reading too. Would highly recommend this very useful and enjoyable course.

Great resources - really enjoyed the 'flipped classroom' which very well prepared me for the live sessions. Very warm, empathic and knowledgeable tutors.

A pleasant return to education

I felt the tutors were knowledgeable and engaging and appreciated observations and feedback, I enjoyed the mix of lecture style, group discussion/practice and feedback and balance with self-directed learning.

This supervision training may be helpful for practitioners who are earlier in their therapeutic careers, as participants were required to confirm a minimum of one year’s counselling experience prior to receiving the certificate.
In my experience, the programme was quite directive, with limited space to bring one’s own professional experience or supervisory style into the learning.
At times, I felt that greater attentiveness to language, context, and lived experience might have added depth. I sensed that successful completion relied on following the taught model closely, within a largely top-down structure.
For more experienced practitioners, in my view, this programme may feel less aligned with their needs. Reflections I shared with tutors and through other directed feedback channels did not receive responses.

Well structured and comprehensive course. The group work and role plays in the live sessions were particularly useful, with lots of skills demonstrations to support practice. The online groups are a useful addition outside of the scheduled study days, for peer support, networking and interaction. The tutors are friendly, approachable and a great support throughout. So pleased I chose Counselling Tutor for my supervision training.

Lots of information, a great group of students and very supportive tutors. Highly recommend this course. I feel well prepared to start in my new role.

I've just completed the taught part of the Counselling Tutor Advanced Certificate in Clinical Supervision Including Online and Telephone Working. The online workshops have been really valuable with excellent tutors (Sally-Anne and Nora) who were not only knowledgeable and experienced but were fully present and gave of themselves from start to finish. Their demonstrations of the applied theory, openness to questions and focussed feedback have been really helpful. For anyone unsure about online training, I'd recommend that you give this a go. It has been highly professional throughout with a wealth of information, depth of content, flexible learning from multiple modes of delivery (recorded lectures, transcripts, slides, articles, bonus pre-recorded training sessions) along side well-paced taught sessions with a good balance of experiential learning including small group/partner and triad practice and discussions. Last but by no means least, having a dedicated technical support (Ed) has ensured the whole online learning environment has felt safe and inclusive with immediate support for anyone experiencing technical difficulties or needing guidance. Ed's obvious commitment to the group through his welcoming and parting comments, responsive provision of links and resources throughout the sessions and reassuring quiet presence during both the taught sessions and on the group Whatsapp has been invaluable.

The knowledge and warmth of the tutors was great. The course was well paced and in depth.

I can thoroughly recommend it! Authentic informative tutors (particularly Sally Ann and Nora), with IT support from the wonderful tech wizard Ed. The course was well paced and has left me feeling confident as I now embark on my practice hours.

I wanted to learn how to be a clinical supervisor, a long-standing ambition. The Advanced Certificate with Counselling Tutor has given me the skills to do that. The materials and tutors were excellent. The course is well organised with good opportunities to practice skills in small groups. Would recommend!
