I will will simply leave a copy of my last unanswered cancellation attempt. correspondence

I will simply leave a copy of my last letter of cancellation to Covenant Books. They have largely refused to respond to this letter and all related requests. I also presented an offer to pay them for work completed and requested the balance of my prepaid account be refunded to my account, and their response to this is that their "board" had voted no. Christianity as an industry has largely become something that would even shame the Lord, which is very much a part of what my book is about, in the Lord's own words. In my humble opinion, Covenat would be at the top of Jesus' list as crimes against His will and way. And they further confirm why so many people who know Jesus personally and intimately are finding no connection between the Man Jesus and the people who claim to represent Him.

Subject: Concerning Realms of Glory

Brenda,
You and Covenant Books are fired. This is your formal notice.Your incompetence and lack of performance over a two year period is a disgrace to the industry
exceeded only by the deception and lies you propagate to steal money from the innocent and unsuspecting.

While I have yet to find a suitable attorney for the damages and delay you have created for a first-time author in fulfilling his God given assignment and dreams, I will continue to interview.

I do expect, as requested before, that I pay
you for the minimal services rendered, which I might add is next to none, and for you to refund the balance of my prepayment of 6,200.00 to my card or by check to (redacted name and info).

Because of your lies, misrepresentations and the absolute failure of your performing according to your promises and advertisements, and other verbal and written commitments, I withdraw all rights and responsibilities I may have
given you to have anything to do with the publication of Realms of Glory.

How extremely pathetic you are after two
years to still not have completed the first edit. But you already know this, just as I know much more about why than you expect I do. Because the man named Jesus Christ, speaks to me almost as freely about this as He does in matters concerning others who only "profess" to be His, those He said are simply "playing church," many which now are being exposed, and many, many more yet to be, as "They are no longer My leaders," according to Him.

"Treat others as you would like to be treated???" What a joke. But one I will answer beginning with soon coming success of the Lord's manuscript being published by another company. And if He continues to lead me in that direction, I will use 100% of those proceeds to glorify the Lord in a true and just cause of
putting people like you out of business in keeping with a statement He so wonderfully made when He said,
"Wade, if truth and justice are not established, then how can My Kingdom ever prevail?"

I sever every tie with you and everyone associated with the lies of Covenant Books and Publishers.
And I do call to your attention one of the 10 Commandments is "Thou shalt not steal." And if again you try to retain my funds for work not done,
it is theft and clearly theft. And I will continue to pray His judgement is swift and severe for the damages and insults I have incurred as His prophet,
and the untimely blessings you have stolen from His true servants through your non performance. And I can promise you from the Source Himself,
that neither He nor I give a rip about a vote of your board, because it damn sure in no way represents Him or His character. You truly put the "coven," in covenant, which I am also sure He will reward accordingly.

Once again, you are fired! May at your request, the Lord do unto you as you have done to others. Most specifically myself and those whom the Lord planned to benefit from the services you have been unable and unwilling to provide. Pathetic, simply pathetic.
I hope you find it in your heart to repent. I really do. In Jesus name.

Wade Jones,

I am very sorry I used Covenant Books

I am very sorry I used Covenant Books. They have an A rating with the BBB, but after reviewing the complaints, it becomes clear that the rating may not reflect the true experiences of many authors. I began working with them in June of last year, and since then, I’ve had to call and send emails repeatedly to check the status of my book. It’s now been over a year, and none of the promised work has been completed.

I received an email from the publisher requesting more time, and I initially gave her the benefit of the doubt, thinking she might be overwhelmed. However, later, I received an email from Kris saying the book would be sent to print, only to be told again that more time was needed.

This process has turned into a nightmare. I chose Covenant Books because I believed their Christian foundation would mean integrity and care. Sadly, it was a great disappointment. I requested a meeting to discuss the book and asked for clear communication.

I’m sharing this to help other authors make informed decisions. Please ask detailed questions, read reviews, and be cautious before signing anything.

Buyer beware

Buyer beware! Covenant will get you in contract; communicate with you only via email; provide you with subpar, elementary mechanical edits -- not a "full copy edit" as promised, but one that is incomplete and incorrect; and then not respond to your emails and phone calls about the poor and incomplete edit, and outright lie to you that they did or are following up. Then they continue to bill you and hold you hostage to the contract to pay it in full even though you want to part ways amicably after their horrendous, useless editing and non-existent communication.

Covenant is not in the publishing business for the Kingdom. They're in it for profit. If they genuinely cared about their customers, they would have reached out to listen, learn, and work to resolve the issue. But they didn't because customers are not their priority. They want people who accept their edits and whom they can push through the pipeline quickly and get paid. If you read the other reviews and go to the Better Business Bureau, you'll see this repeated issue repeatedly. Hence, I've written this review because I can't get anybody from the president to my acquisition specialist to return calls or emails. I don't understand how difficult it is for Covenant to pick up the phone and discuss my concerns.

There are far too many other options in the marketplace to try to deal with a company like Covenant, which is non-customer-focused and, moreover, does not walk in the Spirit or show any Christ-like behaviors. I thought that in working with a Christian publisher, this would be a once-in-a-lifetime, fantastic opportunity. Unfortunately, this is not the case. I've worked with many worldly companies that have provided superb customer experiences. This really makes me sad to be treated so poorly by a supposed Christian company.

Jesus said you can't serve both God and money, for one will be a master and the other not. Truth!

Almost three years and still not…

Almost three years and still not published with very little communication. Not returning calls or emails is very discouraging. Even had my account as delinquent for mouths when it never was not, at least that's been corrected but still disappointed, the real question will be will I need a lawer to resolve this or will Covenant Books fulfill their contracts?

Better Than Five Stars

As a 77-year-old author, the thought of writing and publishing a book seemed daunting. However, with the loving friendship, patient guidance of my publication assistant Maureen Kinley, and the amazing staff of Covenant Publishing, my book was produced, and a copy was in my hands within 6 months. The entire process was easy to navigate. As a former scientist, the editors transformed my math and molecules style of writing into understandable prose with the addition of scores of Oxford commas. The cover design was beyond amazing, and promotion of the book was all that was promised. This book is about miracles and finding Covenant Publishers popping up unexpectedly in my emails was just one more miracle.

Poor Customer Service with Book Publisher

I have done two book collaborations with Covenant. The first went well. Anytime the process slowed, or I had questions, the coordinator, Tina, was prompt answering my requests. She was very customer focused and when I expressed a concern, she not only sent an email but would sometimes call me on the phone. She had ways of speeding things along when she knew I was waiting.
Unfortunately, on my second book, Tina left just as we began the cover design. The preliminary front cover was perfect except for the font. I suggested a different font and waited for the revised design. After several weeks, I questioned the delay and was told it was in process. Apparently, Covenant has a rigid “first-in, first-out” queue for processing change requests and something as minor as changing fonts must wait in line.
After nearly two months I sent a costly overnight letter to the CEO, hoping to break the logjam. The delivery tracker verified the CEO signed for the letter noon the next day, but I didn’t get a reply until Wednesday of the following week. This seemed a shabby response. She called, saying the delay with the manuscript was because the designers didn’t know if the font change was for the front cover or the back cover blurb. This seemed an excuse because I had specifically requested the text change for the front cover. If the designers were confused, why hadn’t they asked for clarification. Due to a bad connection, the call was ended and calling back later I got voice-mail. I left a message but heard nothing further and I didn’t pursue the matter because of the CEO’s uncaring attitude.
Finally, after three months, the cover design was released. It was perfect except for a new problem: two words run together in the blurb. Where was the proofreader? This caused further needless delay.
Since raising concerns earlier seemed to provoke a passive-aggressive response, I was reluctant to say anything, fearing further delay.
After a month the problem was fixed, but it’s amazing it took this long to put a space between two words. An honest merchant who makes a mistake will make it right for the customer as quickly as possible.
At a recent trade show, I was asked by a customer for advice on how to get published. I suggested Covenant Books and a week later he sent me an email thanking me, saying he had a signed contract. While they are quick to take on new authors to grow their business, once the contract is inked, I’ve found Covenant to be rigid and unresponsive.
When a writer’s book is nearing publication, unexpected and needless delay is not only annoying but may affect the author’s income. When I spoke directly with Covenant about my concerns I was met with a tepid response and an uncaring attitude. This is not a customer friendly way of doing business.
