Communications and media studies: poor interview was not shown around facilities, even though in twenties and have had good career histoy was put down at interveiw for being 'too old' when the course has students older all the way up to 60 years of age. Was faced with age and race discrimination from staff and students, poor support from lecturers and admin support staff, lectureres late with attending to lectureres, not responding to emails, some cancel and support staff do not inform students, they are poor with disciplining students and faced victimisation and bullying from staff. Student unions are a disgrace with raising complaints and do not go out of their way to help home students. Only interested in fees and making threats. Snobbery is rife and I find it disgusting that they take my money but fail to deliver. unclean facilities, heating problems and deputy dean fails to resolve problems, more interested in causing bullying, victimisation and ridicule. They have management problems, poor facilities and delivery of lectureres are a disgrace and constant put downs and do not explain things properly. They get paid to lecture, to deliver a service not misbehave. Don't go to this university but please save your money. UK prime ministers come under attack if they misbehave but the depute dean onwards get away with gross misconduct and this is disgusting and outrageous.

If there is anything less that a star that will be my rating for this university. Total disgrace of an institution. Poor customer experience. No one seems to know how to answer queries and no one responds to emails. My advise to prospective students: Find a better university.

Please if anyone knows how to take this useless school to court, or department to report them to, and finally if you are an international student stay away from them, if you are a home student don't waste your time
and Coventry University if you are reading this you will refund the £8,000 pound I paid toward my sister's school fee deposit, I will make sure that and if you refuse to pay it in full, by 1 penny less I will make sure the whole world knows how everything went down also I hope you start addressing my compliant as you guys never reply email.

This business (also known as "coventry university") is not worth your money and time.

I used to think highly of this university, however over time it has changed and become focused on money and student numbers. The treatment of staff and students isn’t great, and the treatment of graduates during the pandemic was really poor. They have done no catch up graduations like other universities I know and as a former student who invested time and money in the uni and my education it is really upsetting. When approached they don’t care and just dismiss you.

My son stayed at Coventry the didn’t tell us how dangerous it was at night there was constantly police outside his accommodation people were shot and stabbed on a regular basis my son too scared for fear of his life to stay there so now we are paying Coventry City Council thousands of pounds so that he could leave absolute disgrace what Coventry Council do to young men and women is disgusting just trying to get them into so much debt if you are thinking of sending your children to Coventry University look at the amount of murders and violence around the city before you hand over money to stay there

I attended here it was great fun, excellent curriculum taught, friendly enjoyable atmosphere. I now have a fantastic career thanks to my start at this university.

Bullied by lecturer who then refused to mark my dissertation the university doesn't care .

This university don't treat students right some of the students have been doing unsupported online work at home the university still expect them to pay for the room the room that have not used some of these students had to give up their jobs to make end meet its not fair at all they should get a refund or part their money back these students have been struggling, under pressure and stress it's not their fault that the country have coronavirus the university or the government should give these students their money back from Coventry University 21,23,27 Hales Street CV1 1JB

The online teaching system is really disappointed and the management are very busy at the moment they got me my university email and password after 3 weeks from the study begins. 👎🏻

This place is practically a diploma mill, selling to affluent oversees students. No standards for grading, management practically encourage dishing out high marks to keep the affluent Chinese paypigs rolling in. Open bullying among management with no oversight. During my time there I got the distinct impression that the entire university has one goal, and that's maximum profit. The university is so single-mindedly obsessed with real estate it's completely gentrifying the entirety of the city center with student accommodation. Not a place for any earnest of even modestly principled individual to work at.

Dear management,

Please put some effort into trying to serve the people and students around you properly. maximum profit and good education are not a mutually exclusive zero sum game.

The media, art and design faculty is very bad, very disorganized, poor customer service, bias towards international students who pay more, is just interested in fees only and not delivering a service, academics and especially the deputy dean are bad at management, late for lecturers and some don't turn up at all. Lecturers don't communicate and don't take responsibility for when things go wrong; lifts are out of action and then the heating is down for long periods with students sitting in lectures with their coats on freezing, clash of deadlines, academics including the dupty dean do no explain things well, do not respond to emails, are arrogant and conceited and put you down in front of others. No support provided for British students and they discriminate against british asians, breach on privacy and GDPR legislation. Badly run, disorganized courses and Uni. Media studies course should be scrapped. Confidentiality is breached as deputy dean discloses data sensitive material about students, harasses them, lets students get away with cheating, gives high marks for international students who do not produce the required work, discriminates against mature students and over subscribes. Complaints are not upheld and Uni is biased towards staff and do not investigate complaints properly. Waste of money

Overall I can wholly say I enjoy my university and the staff was generally professional and helpful -with the usual seldom exceptions.

I was a student at Coventry uni during the MBA Master in marketing. I'm gay and many people related to the university told me such kind of master was only for straight students. I got low marks because of my sexual orientation and the placement service does not work at all, but I paid all the fees and the university accepted them.
I would not reccomand that university to whom wants to study seriously and look for a job with the uni placement.

Coventry University is a great place to work, as long as you don't work for IT Services as a continued bullying mentality from the management has persisted for the last 18 years that I am aware of and continues today...

If you the get the right manager it's great and very rewarding. But some managers are bully's and they get away with it as HR and even the unions allow it to happen!

Appalling experience, in particular within the fashion department. The studio space is inadequate (apparently it is acceptable to work on the floor and ruin expensive materials). Tutors disappeared for long periods of time, to run other courses abroad. Technical support staff are rude and unhelpful, their tea and cake breaks are more important than the needs of paying students. Timetabling is all over the place, often different to what has been scheduled and end up missing vital content or turning up for nothing. Tutors are unorganised and ill prepared.

This was made aware to the complaints department, who swiftly dismissed any of these claims and made up excuses and lied through their teeth, despite evidence and witness statements.

My advice is to go elsewhere, this place does not deserve your money. Poor excuse of an educational institute.

I finished my first degree at Coventry Uni. If I could go back I'd have chosen a different Uni altogether. My experience of the School of Art there was pretty awful: jobs for the boys, would about sum it up. Those students who curry favour with the fickle, make-it-up-as-you-go-along tutors ended up, unsurprisingly, with the highest marks, quite frankly, for churning out infantile sh!t dressed up as quasi-intellectual creations of 'deep minds'. Students who stuck to their guns, against the purely subjective opinions of the tutors, tended to be penalised for their artistic integrity. Similarly, students who followed the advice of the tutors and ended up producing tutor-approved work (instead of creating according to their own judgments) would be treated favourably and given better or bigger exhibition space in the degree show. When I complained about this to the administration of the university, my complaint fell on deaf ears. In the end, they run a business. It's about making money, not about pleasing students or teaching them anything real.

At the end of the day, my direct personal experience of this Art School is that it doesn't actually teach you anything about Art. You aren't even taught colour theory! It had the effect of sickening my relationship with Art for a long time after I left the place, not encouraging or improving upon my abilities or skills as a place of education should.
