I took out a contract back in may 2024
I took out a contract back in may 2024, business contract as Jacob talked me into......WORST MOBILE PHONE DECISION IVE MADE IN MY LIFE........told after 18 months in on my contract both myself and my wife would automatically get new handsets......after contacting Jacob I was told that O2 had pulled this deal and an updated handset was no longer crown communications problem and we had to deal with O2, after contacting O2 they told us they don't act on behalf of O2 and couldn't help.......low and behold after fighting for months over this we eventually gave up on new handsets despite having a contract stating we'd get new handsets......now the contracts are finally coming to an end THANK GOD weve set up new contracts, problem now is switching our numbers from the business accounts to a normal O2 account we need authorisation from crown communication and you've probably guessed by now trying to get them on the phone is an absolute joke......im more than happy to stay with O2 on the new contracts, however if this cannot be resolved pronto I will be walking away from O2 completely and when my final bill to this shambles of a business account im in is paid I will be cancelling the DD and not one single penny more will I pay.......anyone reading this PLEASE PLEASE stay away from this company......why 02 have any association with this cowboy outfit is absolutely beyond me......
Crown Communications
Yet another review for Crown Communications!
My husband foolishly took out a Business Contract with Crown, in his name, after picking up a cold call from a MARTIN NEWBURY. This was in Sept 2023. He took out the contract, but I use the phone, as he had a business and I worked for him. Fast forward to a couple of months ago when I stopped working in the business.
I’ve had this number for a long time so want to retain it and change ownership from my husband to me.
Cue, contacting Crown who are quite frankly sharks. Well, actually, there now seems to be only one shark by the name of Jacob. His stock replies are…There is a system mis match with the names/ Waiting for an update/We will request an update now/We’ll get back to you asap.
The joke is that they provide Business Agreements for the provision of 02 services, yet 02 will not help in this farce.
I have contacted Companies House about their practices, Ofcom and 02 themselves. No one gives two hoots.
I have since found out they were on RipOff Britain too.
DO NOT HAVE ANYTHING TO DO WITH THEM.
I did read that someone had eventually got out from their clutches? How, I don’t know.
Would give zero stars if I could.
****STAY AWAY, STAY AWAY, STAY AWAY****!!!
How unfortunately you can't submit a minus score.
I have never, ever, experienced such bad, misleading, untrustworthy customer experience as I have with these people.
They duped me into a 3 year contract with O2 from a cold call, which I knew something was up when it was a business contract which they never explained at the time or since.
I experienced issues with the phone and they never got back to me and over the 2.5 year period no calls were ever returned, which led me to track down their office in a near derelict office block near spaghetti junction Birmingham, with no signs anywhere, which hides their dubious and questionable outfit that also has an active proposal for strike off on company's house by the way.
Gladly I'm free from their scrupulous clutches and warn you with fibre within, ****STAY AWAY, STAY AWAY, STAY AWAY****!!!
Avoid this company at all costs
Avoid this company at all costs. Been waiting for a number migration for almost five weeks.
I have just built an email detailing the timelines and my disgust.
Will attach my formal complain email below.
Dear Sir/Madam,
I am writing to formally complain about the unacceptable delay and poor handling of my mobile number migration request to my new contract with O2.
This issue has now been ongoing for almost five weeks, despite number migration typically taking no longer than 24 hours.
For clarity, I have outlined the timeline of events below:
- 09/04/2026 (10:03 AM): I contacted Crown Communications to report that my SIM had still not migrated, already 8 days after the initial request.
- 09/04/2026 (14:58–15:01): I provided all requested details including my full name, temporary number, and O2 account number.
- 09/04/2026 (17:16): I chased for an update and was told the issue had been “escalated”.
- 13/04/2026 (10:47): I followed up again, noting it had been nearly 3 weeks since the original request.
- 13/04/2026 (17:34): I was told it would be chased, however no resolution followed.
- 15/04/2026: I raised further concern, stating clearly that the delay was unacceptable and requested to speak with a manager.
- 17/04/2026: I was informed that an “investigation” was ongoing, despite this being a routine process that should not require such delays.
-23/04/2026: I asked again for an update to which I was told it had been resubmitted my transfer to consumer but still nothing has been done.
Throughout this period, I have repeatedly had to chase for updates, often receiving delayed or minimal responses. At no point has a clear explanation been provided as to why this process has taken so long.
In addition to the delay, I have also experienced:
- Poor communication and lack of proactive updates
- Previous setup errors on my account (including incorrect configuration resulting in no data usage)
- Financial impact and disruption to my work, including missed jobs
I have been patient and reasonable throughout, however this situation has now gone far beyond acceptable standards. Migrating a number is a basic service, and a delay of almost five weeks is unjustifiable.
I now require the following actions:
1. Immediate completion of my mobile number migration
2. A full written explanation for the delay
3. Confirmation of what has caused this failure in service
If this matter is not resolved promptly, I will escalate the complaint to the relevant regulatory bodies, including the Communications Ombudsman and Trading Standards.
All evidence is logged via WhatsApp chat to the number: +44 7703 837649
Please treat this matter as urgent and provide a full response within 5 working days.
Regards,
Jordan Middleton-Moore
Good AD for the company being on ripoff…

Avoid – Contract extended without consent and no response to formal complaints!!
I would strongly advise anyone to avoid Crown Communications Ltd (O2 Business Partner).
I originally took out a 36-month business contract in March 2022, which should have ended in February 2025. However, when I checked my account earlier this year, I discovered that two of the phone lines had been extended until September 2026 – without my knowledge or consent.
Since February, I have called, emailed, and written multiple times (including letters on 12/04, 07/05, and a final Letter Before Claim on 22/05) requesting a copy of the signed contract or any evidence of authorisation. To date, I have received no reply, no explanation, and no documentation — only repeated promises that “someone will get back to you.”
After contacting O2 directly, I was told the contract was drawn up through Crown Communications Ltd, not O2 themselves. It appears I am not the only person this has happened to, judging by similar reviews here.
I have now escalated the matter to Ombudsman Services: Communications and will pursue it formally if necessary.
It’s deeply concerning that a company can extend contracts without consent and ignore written requests for evidence. I hope this review helps others avoid the same issue and encourages Crown Communications to act responsibly and communicate transparently with their customers.
Sadly more of the same
Sadly more of the same, they Mis-sold my elderly father a business contract that has him locked in for 5 years with a crap phone that no longer works. I'm currently going through the motions of trying to contact them again after they told me a manager would call me back. It feels like they scan their calls. Next stop Communications Ombudsman I guess.
Don't use this company
Sold my mum a phone on the idea that it would be a consumer phone, it was on a business plan.
Still trying to solve the issue after over 2 years. My mum is vulnerable and has battling cancer so the stress caused by this has only added to her pain.
Trying to get them to do something is like talking to a wall, it doesn't get done. Whether it's oh yeh we will do that for you or that's not something we can help you with and tell you to contact 02, which go no its crown that do that for you.
All members of staff should be ashamed do be deceiving vulnerable people and the company should be shut down.
Avoid at All Costs
Avoid at All Costs
This company is yet another scam operation coming out of Birmingham — and sadly, it's one of many popping up across the UK. Their business model is deceptive and designed to mislead, particularly targeting the elderly and vulnerable.
Here’s how it works: They acquire old contracts from major mobile providers (like the top four networks), usually as those contracts are coming to an end — typically around the 24 or 36-month mark. They then selectively contact individuals based on location and age, offering what appears to be a "free upgrade."
But there's a major catch: By accepting, you're unknowingly being signed into a business account with a minimum 3-year commitment. You’re also locked into dealing only through them — not directly with your actual network provider (in our case, O2). For this "service," they charge an extra £14 per month, on top of the usual line rental charges from O2.
Trying to get help or clarity from them is a joke. The so-called "account managers" are fully aware of the shady practices and avoid direct answers. They rarely respond, and if you try calling, you're either kept on hold endlessly or ignored altogether. For a communications company, it’s pretty ironic — they refuse to communicate.
What makes this worse is the lack of government action to regulate or shut down companies like this. Because they're technically not breaking the law, they continue to exploit people — and profit massively from doing so.
Case in point:
My 76-year-old father is currently paying £39.45 per month. Over a 6-year period, that’s £2,838 — for a phone that probably cost no more than £150. They refuse to provide any meaningful proof of consent or agreement, and getting any sort of resolution is nearly impossible.
Bottom line:
Do not give this company any of your personal details. Do not let them manage your mobile contract. They are dishonest, opportunistic, and prey on people who don’t have the time, knowledge, or energy to fight back.
If you care about your loved ones — especially elderly family members — warn them now. These companies thrive because people don’t speak up. They cold call actual personal mobile numbers not landlines, Consider being warned
Liars
Liars, scammers & false promises thats when they answer the phone. Missold me a business account for 36 month. The iphone 11 i recieved out of the box had 82% battery health, and has never worked the phone has never had any sound. Promised to send me replacement phone & even told one was in post to fob me off. No chance now as year warranty has expired. Cant wait intill contract ends i will never be back with these or o2.
CHEATING FRAUDS!!!!
This is by far the worst company I have had to deal with in my 60 years.
They are fraudulent, liars and the most unhelpful company I have ever dealt with.
I am a consumer and they missold me a Business account without my knowledge. They take no responsibility and pass the buck with every opportunity.I have passed on my experience to O2 and hopefully they will see sense and rid themselves of this cheating company. It really doesn't do O2 any favours and blackens the O2 name. DO NOT SIGN UP TO THIS CHEATING, THIEVING COMPANY!!!
AVOID!!!
AVOID!!!!
I have had a contract through Crown Communications for years. The price was crippling and I decided to go else where. I rang on the 28th January to double check when my contract would end and the man told me 24th February, i told him i would NOT be renewing and i will be going with someone else. 24th came and I got a new contract. I rang o2 to get the pac number on the 25th to be told that Crown communications had renewed my contract until Sept 2026. This is without my consent and after I had told them I wouldn't be staying with them. O2 informed me if I left the contract early I would be liable of a £1,100payment for early end. Trying to call crown to cancel as im well with in my 14 day cooling off period and low and behold I cant get through. I've try the form and ive tried calling and leaving messages and nothing.
Im now going to Trading standards. Please avoid at all costs!
Same comments as most people they…
Same comments as most people they mislead me put a contract in place under my husbands name my husband had never spoken to crown or 02 and yep on a business contract promised conversations between me and them and nothing done have now got a bill for cancelling my contract early but again it isn’t in my name a letter from 02 saying the debt collectors will be involved 🤬🤬
Avoid Crown Communications.
I am having nightmare experience with my Crown Communications, O2 mobile contract that should have ended 21/10/2024.
October 2021 I was phoned by Crown Communications and convinced to have a mobile contract with them at a time when we were totally short staffed on the older person medicine ward I work on unable to give people daily physio so I was to stressed to think clearly. I have paperwork for the 36 month contract starting October 2021. I was told I would get good storage mobile, I was sent one with low storage which had to be sent back and after lot complaining different mobile sent, an Samsung A90.
I was phoned October 2023 and asked if I wanted to replace the mobile or pay less per month, I presume that was the 36 month contract I had which started October 2021 and ended October 2024, I opted to pay less and keep same mobile, no mention of extending contract, no extra paper work sent, so thought contract still ended 21/10/24..
May 2024 I had letter from O2 which made me realise I had a small business contract which was confusing as I work for NHS and I was paying over £33 a month. I tried and failed to contact Crown Communications so I contacted O2. I went through complaints procedure about the high monthly cost but got no where, no help from Crown Communications or O2.
I decided I was stuck, trapped until 21st October 2024 when the 36 month contract ended so I accepted the expense of over £30 a month for basically a sim only deal with intention of escape to different network when contract ended 21/10/24. Most of my friends and family are paying half what I am paying per month and thier contracts includes a up to date mobile. I have had the same Samsung A90 since October 2021.
I was upset when I got my PUK CODE 31st October 2024 to find out O2 want over £600 to let me escape from O2 and Crown Communications. I thought the contract ended October 2024 so no payment would be needed. £600 is ridiculous when I do not even have a mobile phone with them that is worth anywhere near that and I would have thought I would have paid off the mobile I got October 2021 as it was just an Samsung A90 which is wearing out. I spoke to O2 then someone from Crown Communications Thursday morning 31st October 2024, explained, he sounded helpful said he would ring later that morning, nobody called me back. Crown Communications seem impossible to communicate with they never reply to e mails or ring back.
I eventually had phone call from Crown Communications Thursday 7th November morning, he said he was meeting with his manager Thursday afternoon to discuss situation and he would ring me with update, so far as expected no phone call and no update and it is now 12th November.
He admitted I had been put on extended contract for extra 36 months October 2023, I said I had not been informed of this, I had not been sent any undated paperwork, not signed anything, he said he and manager were going to listen to recording of the October 2023 phone call.
Crown Communications man has sent me last three invoices from O2 so I have more idea what I am paying for and he suggested I download the O2 app.
On average I am paying about £33 to £35 a month for a sim only deal with unlimitedcalls/texts/6gb data, when y check Crown Communications website sim only deals are £10 to £21 so I do not know why I am paying extra.
Trading standards office are being very helpful and supportive trying to find a solution.
Eventually I will have to go to the Communications Ombudsman
Would be NO STARS if available!
Would be NO STARS if available!
Have been trying for months to clarify my contract situation. They have been as much use as a glass eye in the fog. They now appear to be as cheesed off as I am about me phoning (23 times today before getting an answer!). He (Jacob) was clearly disinterested in the conversation and was fobbing me off with the same old drivel, "I will check and get back to you". Guess what, they NEVER get back. Avoid this company at all costs.
Do not touch
Everything, they pray on people of old age and practice hard sell methods to secure vulnerable people into extending their contracts. They threaten their customers with beliefs that will be sent by O2 to their property if they don't carry on paying a contract that has ended. They then state that if the customer doesn't sign up to another new contract for 3 years that they will not be able to keep their number. Then when they have been clearly instructed not to contact the person anymore that this is ignored and they continue to contact the engaging in hard sell practices. Avoid at all costs.
