The grater itself works extremely well. We mainly use it for Parmesan and it is very sharp, efficient and requires very little pressure.

Unfortunately, the durability has been very disappointing. Our original grater failed after around 15 months when the grating plate separated from the surrounding frame. Dalstrong replaced it under warranty, but the replacement has now failed in exactly the same way after a very similar period.

The replacement had very light domestic use — probably no more than around 30 uses, almost entirely for grating Parmesan — so I do not consider this normal wear and tear.

Having two separate graters suffer the same structural failure after such limited use makes me question the durability of the design or the way the grating plate is secured.

Dalstrong’s customer service has been responsive, which I appreciate, but at this price point I would expect the product itself to last considerably longer.

Excellent performance when new, but poor long-term durability. Two stars.

I have had 4 different Dalstrong items which include, bread knife, cleaver, stock pan and tongues. I'll start with the bread knife. Basically it was blunt, customer services sent me a voucher. Used the voucher on some tongues, after only a frew months of used, they broke, customer services sent me a voucher. Used voucher on a mini cleaver(hardly use) and a none stick pan. I have had the pan less than 12 months and the non stick coating is starting to bubble and peal away. Customer services have offered anothet voucher. I have explained that don't want anymore Dalstrong products as so far, 75% of the ones I have had have been faulty. At the moment they are offering no better resolution.

out of the blue, just like that, my Son and Daughter surprised me with this set.
wow. just wow. As I unpacked the paring knife I could not believe the weight & feel of it and believe I had a few, and it kept on getting better with each item, and then there was that knife block, again wow! outstanding! 7*

It is not often that you come across a company that provides this level of customer service.

Dalstrong should be proud of your commitment to Customer Care, which is second to none.

purchased a knife for filleting fish for sushi but was not as happy with it as i expected to be, so i emailed them and an Angel ( literally the guys name ) sent me a replacement next day delivery! and they didnt want the original knife back! amazing! great company with standards.
