I admit I was skeptical
In the past I've traded my old devices in as I replaced them. That wasn't at option this time so I decided to try Decluttr. I didn't expect much. Instead, the service was easy to use, easy to mail gear to, and a day or so after they got my device, I had the promised amount of money in my PayPal account. Now I am going to have to look around and see if I have anything else laying around!

Very easy to use
It was easy to scan my items to determine what they would take and how much they would give me. I needed to print a extra mailing label since I needed to send two boxes, and that was easy. Overall, a very easy way to get rid of stuff we no longer wanted.

Decluttr is very easy to sell with
Decluttr is very easy to sell with. I had a number of DVDs, especially British television--some as much as 20 years old--that I needed to thin out. Decluttr purchased almost every one. All I had to do was enter the DVD's bar code on the Decluttr site, and their program would recognize the DVD and offer me a price. I printed the free shipping label, kept the inventory of items I shipped in each box, which Decluttr provides with each shipping label, and packed each box carefully so that no DVDs would be damaged during transport. Decluttr notified me when they had received each box and when the payment had been placed in my account. Believe me, this is much easier than taking your items to a book or record store and having to wait to have your items priced.

Decluttr used to be amazing
Decluttr used to be amazing, which is why I am now giving just 3 stars :( They seem to no longer accept books for resale, only DVDs, blu-rays and CDs (and other tech, but we don't really have that). I think we will be using Decluttr less as a result of this change. The packing and shipping requirements are good and easy, and we get a UPS pickup so I don't have to lug boxes to Fedex, so that's a big plus.

I scanned lots of CD's
I scanned lots of CD's. 66 were acceptedfor roughly $18. I mailed the box. They received it Oct 2, 2024 and said I'd be paid in 3 days. That never happened. I sent an email and was told that 18 of the CD's were missing!!?? I did have a few problems with scanning some CD's that I didn't think were accepted and it looks like they were. So out of the 18 they mentioned only 4 or 5 were still in my boxes here presumably the ones I had an issue with. But there is no way 13-14 CD's were withheld. I'm trying to resolve this and have only received 3 emails saying they will close the ticket soon yet I've sent responses saying what I think happeed. I've asked for a phone # to trouble shoot with a live person and have received no further responses now for a few days. I want this straightened out but endless useless emails do not cut it! At this point, I would not recommend Decluttr. As a note: I did send a 2nd box of a few CD's worth only about $8 a few days after box #1 and "lo and behold" I got that money with no issues so what's the deal with box #1...very disappointed.

Acknowledged receipt of package two days after tracking stated it had been delivered.
