Worst customer service ever!
I've been using DeGiro in two countries for years now (first in Sweden, now in Portugal since I moved there).
In my last year in Sweden they failed to provide a document required by the tax authorities which they have issued previous year. I sent them their own report, the reply by Skatteverker and they continued to claim that this document is not required and they can't provide it.
I'm struggling with them now in Portugal - I'm trying to use the interface of Simply Wall St to see my DeGiro portfolio in their platform. Long story short after several email requests and restarting the conversation with new incompetent customer service representative each time it became clear they don't know the difference between mobile passcode (required for the integration) and 2FA. In their last email they told me to call by phone if I have issues logging in to DeGiro app which was never a problem. After that they started ignoring my emails.
I'm now looking for another alternative which works with Simply Wall St. DeGiro is a sick joke!

P. S. After seeing the answer with the advice to contact the Portuguese service desk I have a follow up question - which service desk do you think I've been struggling with during the last month or so?!? Furthermore you may have an app in Portuguese but you don't have a Portuguesse service desk. It's the same shameful one which has only been getting worse since you outsourced it to Bulgaria (I'm Bulgarian but it's terrible). It's time to give IBKR a chance...

There are lots of investment options at very attractive prices. It is very intuitive and reliable to use.

Very simple and intuitive. Some high comissions on stocks but for ETF's it's pretty low.

Very usefull, simple, easy to use, low taxrate. When you need help they are very helpfull and don´t take eternity to respond.

Transactiong on degiro is fast and very easy. There is plenty of help available if you need it.

I had a doubt about the security of the access to my account. I made a phone call the person that answered was really kind, patient and, above all, very helpful.

DEGIRO states on its website:
"Directly upon payment of income, tax is withheld and paid to the tax authorities of the country of residence of the organization paying it (country of origin). This form of taxation is called withholding tax. Examples include withholding tax on dividends and interest."

Since I received dividends from Portuguese companies, the tax withheld should be paid to the Portuguese tax authority.
However, the Portuguese tax authority has no records of receiving such tax from DEGIRO.

Even worse, I sent DEGIRO the tax form (Modelo 39) that needs to be filled by the withholding entity (DEGIRO) so that the tax authority can consider that tax to determine my IRS, but DEGIRO refuses to fill out that form and tells me to hire a tax specialist.

It is DEGIRO, not a tax specialist, that MUST report to the Portuguese tax authority the withheld tax.

Also, I asked DEGIRO several times to which entity the withheld tax was paid, and in their evasive replies they simply do not answer this question.

As a result, I do not know where the tax withheld is, and how will I be able to correct this situation and avoid being taxed twice on the dividends I received.

For me, DEGIRO is over. I will no longer be a client and I recommend anyone to stay away from those fraudsters.

Easy to use. Good conditions for trading. Works perfect for swing trading and medium/long term investment.
