I submitted a claim which I won. However direct redress passed my file over to DCBL debt collectors where significant charges were added, over £600 before I had received my compensation from the credit card company chasing their fee!!
Under their agreement they are not entitled to any fee until I have received my payment/compensation from the credit card company.
Therefore they unnecessarily passed my account over to a debt collector which is totally unacceptable, and poor practice, notwithstanding that I have been unnecessarily charged additional charges on top of their commission when they were not entitled to it threatening me with court action.
I requested that these charges be removed, when I informed direct redress I hadn’t received the compensation. There was a lack of interest, no apology and the charges were still not removed nor was the account suspended with DCBL.
Stay away from these cowboys!! Their communication is exceptionally poor and you hear nothing once they have won the case.
They are very quick to pass your file to debt collectors and we’re talking within a matter of a few weeks. They do not chase their fee themselves beforehand or make sure the compensation has been received before taking action. They were in breach of contract not me.
The situation I am now in could have been avoided if these factors were better because they would have known I had not received my compensation which I only recently just received! And perhaps would have not acted in the underhanded unprofessional manner that they have!!

9 months in total to settle a claim using direct redress. Throughout this time, and considering their significant charges, i have needed to constantly chase them. At times i received responses that weren't consistent with the status of the claim at that time and getting different responses from different staff at direct redress. Not adequately chasing the lender or subsequently the FOS. Stopped replying to emails.
I had more calls from them in the 2 weeks following final outcome of the claim than i did in the whole 9 months, presumably they wanted their fee considering i hadn't received the refund.
Following the final outcome i was asked by Direct Redress to chase the lender myself for the refund...that's surely what their fee goes on, otherwise i would have done the whole thing myself.
Do the claim yourself and don't bother with a claims management company. I was initially happy with their terms but feel their service doesn't reflect their fee.

I was contacted by Redress and thought it was with a shot ? I emailed back a few answers to questions then forgot about it. Few months later got the money straight into my bank. I just transferred the amount of invoice from redress. They did ring me once but I said the money had gone in that day and I would transfer straight away.

sorting the claim was easy very hands off the fees are high for the claim, 20% plus and the way they act once a case is settled for there payment is close to stalking, you will get constant bombardment via calls text email and letters, even if you havent been paid yet..............
