Pesimo servicio de atencion al cliente, estoy esperando hace mas de una semana la visita del tecnico y nunca llaman para eso, super eficientes para recibir el pago y que les contraten plan, pero al momento de enviar tecnicos o resolver dudas no sirven para nada.

Unethical Sales Tactics Targeting a Vulnerable Disabled Veteran

I am writing this to warn others about the predatory practices of DIRECTV. My 76-year-old father, a disabled veteran with cognitive challenges, was tricked into switching providers. He simply intended to call DISH Network to reconnect his 9-year service after a roof repair; instead, he was misled into signing a new contract with DIRECTV.Despite my status as his VA-appointed Fiduciary and Power of Attorney, DIRECTV refused to acknowledge that he lacked the capacity to consent to this agreement. He cannot use the service and is not receiving the channels he requested. Even after explaining the situation to a supervisor, the company stubbornly refused to waive a $400 disconnection fee. It is deeply concerning that a company would prey on an elderly veteran and then prioritize a cancellation fee over basic human ethics. We will be pursuing this further.

We just gladly paid to end the contract with Direct TV. They overcharge and under deliver. They charged us on random days not the one scheduled. I would not recommend them when there are so many more affordable options with better service.

If there were less stars, I would put less. Shitty service bad customer service bad reception. They yanked money out of your account when they think you owe them, then when you cancel, they tell you it takes two months to get your refund back.! bad bad bad bad bad bad

Delayed bill

I just contacted directv stream to request to delay my payment by one day. In other words a payment arrangement. I was told by their customer service rep that the only way this could be accomplished was if they were to suspend my service and have it start on the tenth each month. I've been with this company for at least 5 years and have never been late. I told her that I thought that was ridiculous. They literally want to cut my service off just for wanting to pay a day late. What kind of policy is that?!!

Malísima

Malísima, llamaron diciendo que eran de la compañía de la competencia (Xfinity) diciendo que tenía una deuda a pagar de $200 dólares por que según ellos hicieron labores de cableado y se lo estaban cobrando a mi suegra una señora mayor. Tratamos de cancelar y me dijeron que habían dos opciones la de cancelar y pagar $300 o hacer una supuesta cuenta nueva la cual borraría los $200 y pagaría $124 por internet y cable servicio del cual no nos interesaba. En definitiva cuando llamé a (Xfinity) no existía tal cuenta de $200. Tratando de vender el servicio a base de mentiras y engañando a personas mayores. Llamé para cancelar me dicen que tengo que devolver el equipo en FedEx y cuando fue a devolverlo resulta que tengo que ir al correo normal USPS, tampoco tienen la desencia de instruirse y para informar bien a la personas.

INDIRECT TV AT BEST

By far, the worst TV service I've ever experienced. Despite fresh batteries, have to stand up close to box to turn on/off. Once on, have to go to channel guide just to click on a channel. Multiple clicks needed to hit movies/news/sports offering etc. I can tell you that my mid 1950's television with tubes was far superior (I'm 76 y/o). DirectTV should be ashamed of themselves.

Worst streaming app I've ever used.

Worst streaming app I've ever used and it's not even close. Runs slow, freezes anywhere from a couple minutes to 24 hours, and menus load slow and change as you're clicking on something so you end up clicking on something you don't want. Stuck in an expensive two year plan unless we want to pay $300+ to opt out. I do not recommend this service.

Customer service at DirecTV…

I called customer service at DirecTV last month to make sure my rates wouldn’t increase while I’m currently out on medical disability.

Unfortunately, my discount had fallen off and my monthly rate did go up. I called back and was able to connect with Blake—and I’m extremely grateful that I did!

Blake was incredibly understanding, pleasant, patient, and genuinely helpful. With so many different packages and discounts available, I was a bit nervous and unsure if I would even qualify for anything. Being on a tight budget makes situations like this especially stressful.

He took the time to carefully review my past rates and options, and thanks to his persistence and guidance, we were able to adjust my plan and keep my rate much more manageable. I truly appreciate the effort he put in—it made a big difference, especially since I was very close to canceling my service altogether.

What stood out even more was how he kept me engaged throughout the process. Instead of placing me on hold in silence, he conversed with me while multitasking, which made the experience feel much more personal and less stressful.

Blake is a fantastic representative for the company, and I’m very thankful for the excellent customer service he provided!

App won’t allow managing preset recordings

App gives you poor control over the DVR. A special program delayed the programs that follow so we knew we either had to extend the recording time or set it to record the next program. The app would not extend the time and it would not record the news which was the next program. So we called tech support but only got to talk to AI which said they couldn’t do it either. We could only do it on the TV. We’re out-of-town so we just lose half of the program we set to record. You’d think they could automatically extend the time when the program is delayed from its scheduled time.

I have been a DIRECTV customer since 2004, and my recent experience has been extremely disappointing. In December, a representative told me I needed to “downgrade” my equipment and that it would cost $150. Today, another representative informed me that DIRECTV does not downgrade boxes at all and that there is only one box type for everyone. This means the information I received earlier was completely false.
I was also promised a $200 promotional gift card that I never received. Every time I followed up, I was given inconsistent explanations and no resolution. After more than 20 years as a loyal customer, I expected honesty and clear communication, not contradictory instructions and unfulfilled promises.

To add to the confusion, I was told I would need to return my equipment after cancellation, only to later be told that nothing needs to be returned and that I should simply dispose of it. The lack of accurate information has caused unnecessary stress and wasted time.
I am sharing this review so others are aware of the issues I encountered. DIRECTV needs to improve transparency, communication, and follow‑through with long‑time customers.

This company is a FRAUD!

It would have been less than one star rating from me.
I constantly loose the audio due to the Direct tv equipment doesn't recognize a Smart TV.
They send out a tech and they just blame everything on your equipment while giving a Pro Trump speech!!
My contract is up in May and I can't wait to be free of this terrible company.

1-Star Review for DirecTV

I attempted to cancel my DirecTV service and specifically requested that it be terminated effective immediately. I clearly stated multiple times that I did not authorize any service or billing beyond that date.

Despite this, I was told my service would remain active until the end of the billing cycle and that I would continue to be charged. There was no flexibility for same-day disconnection or any meaningful consideration for prorated billing—even though I would no longer be using the service.

What makes this even more frustrating is that DirecTV prorates billing when you sign up, but does not offer the same fairness when you try to cancel. That inconsistency feels one-sided and not customer-focused.

The representatives were polite, but the process felt rigid and dismissive of a clear customer request. Being required to pay for a service you’ve already asked to cancel is disappointing and outdated.

If you’re considering DirecTV, just know that cancelling may not be straightforward, and you could end up paying for time you’re not even using.

Customer service shouldn’t feel like a one-way contract.

Directv lied

When I called to sign up for service they informed me that I would get all local channels however when I got connected they did not offer fox23 wxxa from albany ny ,that was year ago, still don't get it they claim they will get back but it been since early 2022 they took fox23 wxxa from albany ny from their lineup, they lied to me.

Be careful what you sign up for

We rented a premium channel and worked for every movie we recorded. Cost went up to $400! Customer service absolutely horrible. They can't tell me how to use it or what I get for the $29.99 we paid for the channel. They can't tell me what movies have been rented until the bill comes out. Totally blindsided by our bill. And no one will listen. Now we're stuck in a contract for 2 years that we can't get out of. DirecTV does have some benefits over streaming (if you don't get the streaming version) but be very careful or they will take all your money!
