I had an unfortunate situation with Discover, I got nowhere talking to Discover’s bots. I consulted the Elliott Report “Company Contacts,” and I contacted the very people that Elliott Report identified as Company Contacts at Discover. Actually, I contacted them, several times by email and US Mail, and I got nowhere, not even the courtesy of a response, never mind, action, or RESOLUTION.
I cannot say enough bad things about Discover, and Discover’s leadership, other than I believe they are unscupulous, and lack business and personal integrity.

What took so long??
One bank that I patronize, made and $25,000 ACH transfer into my Discover bank account. It took over 7 DAYS to release my money to me. Did it take 7 days for the ACH deposit to clear? I do not think so. I do not appreciate Discover bank holding MY MONEY for the absurd period of 7 days. The only thing that was even more infuriating than the above, was the attitude of the alleged human who answered the phone at their service desk. You know, getting a human at the service desk is not the only issue; the person has to act like a person also.

I am in the service industry and I am shocked by the lack of service at Discovery Bank, I opened an account 5 years ago, deposited R5000 online, when I was asked to collect my card at Melyn Main branch, I went to the ATM to see if my R5000 investment made any interest- to my surprise, they deducted R400 so I withdrew my money (all of it) went back into the bank and gave my card back and instructed them to close my account. To my shock and horror I went into my profile and I OWE THEM R17000 - I have contacted the customer service numerous times and none of their promises to return my calls and reverse their obvious mistake have been met. I have other investments at DB and will move EVERYTHING back to Sygnia

Tooling around on Trustpilot, I saw all the negative reviews for Discover Bank. I've been banking with Discover for about 10 years. Absolutely, hands down, the best customer service. They're all US-based, speak very good English and understand the norms and customs of American society. Some things are just hard to explain to a guy in the Philippines. I had a fraud issue, my fault, back in 2019. They jumped through hoops to stop it, change all my account numbers and make me whole. I'm a little concerned about the Capital One buyout, we'll see. Everything when it comes to Discover Bank is difficult. They make it difficult to transfer money into your high yield savings account. The customer service is awful despite advertising the #1 customer service. Upon realizing this, I immediately transferred the cash deposits I did have to another bank. Good riddance.
Watch out for Discovery
Watch out for Discovery. They are the same group as discovery health and are now into Banking.
They are a South African based company. They offer you to open an account but then never give you a Bank card. Wait for it, then they continue to charge you for zero services.
They are like scammers.
My personal experience, is I opened an account with them, and never received a card. They will still continue to charge you even if you don't have a card or don't use their service.
The public should be made aware of Discovery Banking Services and taking public hard earned money.
Global Financial Services Regulatory should take this Company to task, and remove their licence to operate in the Banking sector. South Africa has become a breeding ground for criminal activity, and for this reason money is pouring out the country. Public be aware before getting into bed with the Devil.

Terrific experience with incoming wire transfer which was FREE vs my other banks which charge to receive wires. Also Initiated a wire transfer online out of my account and it went smoothly.
Discover Bank hold times are shorter and I've had MUCH less trouble with ACH transfers. I will be consolidating even more into Discover Bank. Relative to my other banks (USbank Citi BOA Cap1) Discover has been way better so updated my rating from 4* to 5*.

I've had an account with Discover Bank (and Discover Card) for 3 decades! Their pros outweigh cons imo. Today their savings accounts pays ~4.2% which is high and doesn't tie up $ like a CD.
I have accounts with 3 other big banks and Discover is the only one allowing me to connect a Fold Visa debit card.
One drawback is although deposits show in account quickly you can't move those funds for 10 biz days.
Discover Bank is run by management with NO common sense!
have been with Discover for years and always loved their customer service, thought it was top drawer but lately, it's gone downhill all the way to the bottom! I loved their BillPay for its convenience.
It was a great budgeting help to be able to schedule payments up to 30 days in advance. I've always made sure funds were there on the day of payment to cover it. Given that I have cognitive issues from age and Long Covid, this helps to insure I don't forget to pay a bill. Recently, some short-sighted non-thinker in management thought it would be a GOOD idea to restructure BillPay so that you could not schedule a payment unless you had the funds in your account AT THAT TIME even if you were scheduling a payment for 30 days out.
This makes NO sense as if I had the funds at that time I'd pay them AT THAT TIME and not wait for the 30 days.
Do most people only pay bills once a month or have a paycheck that covers a month worth each week? Closing ALL of my accounts and looking for a new bank that uses COMMON SENSE!!!

Waste of time
Waste of time! They claim "its easy to add money to your account" I tried to fund my account with a transfer during new setup of account and that transfer just vanished. Then I tried to fund new account through the mobile app and that was rejected due to security reasons . I Call customer service and let them know and they tell me as a new savings account holder I have to transfer or wire them the money or send them a check. They threatened to shut my account down If I didn't fund my new account within 20 day of receiving my warning letter. I'm trying to fund my account and they are screwing up every attempt at me doing so.
I was lead to believe they have a no minimum balance policy? So why the close my account with no balance? They also don't Issue a ATM cards to make withdrawals simple ! really? that's inconvenient! how will a get to my money??
I left one star for the fact customer service was fast to answer the phone , but was unable to help me in any way possible.
If they make it this difficult to fund my new-account
I can only imagine how difficult they would make it for me to pull out my money. I will let them close my unfunded no min balance saving account due to no funds !
What a waste of time and they lost a customer and I also will be closing my Discover credit card account with them soon too. I was customer for well over a decade. BYE
