Gwyn has recently found three mortgages for me, all of which were brilliant deals. Even before completion he did one final check to ensure it was still the best deal the lender had to offer.
When lenders were a little slow, he chased and got the offer out as soon as possible. Highly recommend

Have had the pleasure of working with both Foyez for mortgage and Matt for insurances. Both are quick and efficient, provide all the information requited and are willing to go above and beyond to help. I've had phonecalls after 7pm with Foyez because that was the only time we could actually sit down to discuss a mortgage product and he was absolutely lovely about it.
It's our second time using Dupree's and I recommend them to anyone we know that is moving and wouldn't hesitate to use again in the future.

I had put a review here however, decided to take it down to give Dupree a chance to sort my situation out.

I was very happy with the service in 2019, where Gwyn secured us a mortgage on a new home.

In 2021 we came out of our fixed rate where we needed to pay off a little bit of debt. Gwyn had now changed companies. He secured us a fixed rate for 2 years at just over 1%. We had to have a 2nd Mortgage at over 5%.

In 2023 we came out of our fixed rate again. We had some debt due to Covid. Gwyn could not find us a good deal. In my opinion he didn’t try hard enough. He even told me to look at downgrading or looking at bankruptcy (wow).

I decided to look elsewhere and went with My Mortgage Solutions. They found me a mortgage within a week for the full amount and placed me on a tracker mortgage. I could not be happier with the advice. We have been advised that rates will fall, and once it goes low enough we will look at a fixed rate.

My Mortgage Solutions asked me, why we weren’t placed on a longer fixed rate on the 1st Mortgage. When it was just over 1%. This rate was the lowest we had seen. We were now coming out to a rate of 5.7 percent.

Gwyn wanted me to now fix for 5 years at a rate of 5.7%, but had fixed us for 2 years when it was just over 1%. He wouldn’t even suggest other options until I suggested them. Like a lower term fixed rate. Or even interest only to save our home.

It’s safe to say. It felt like advice from Gwyn was getting more of an effort than him wanting to assist us.

I’m always skeptical when companies like Dupree don’t take a fee from you for their advice. I feel this means they may look at companies who offer them the best commission when putting people their way.

The problem is we’ve had to pay around £1000 to My Mortgage Solutions for them to look after us. With the correct advice and effort from Dupree I don’t believe I would have needed to pay this.

To be fair to the owners of Dupree they called me after my first review. There were very pleasant and referred this to PRIMIS for investigation. PRIMIS response and outcome however, has been disappointing. I have now forwarded my complaint onto the Financial Ombudsman.

My advice to others is to always do research and seek more than one advisor/company. If I hadn’t done that. I would now be stuck with 2 mortgages at an absurd rate, bankrupt or even having to sell our home.

They made the whole process nice and smooth, even when the mortgage company made things challenging, when it didn’t need to be - Dupree resolved it efficiently.
