So, I received a letter to renew my driving licence with option 1 being an online application. After filling in everything required from my driving licence, passport and answering all of the address/personal information it then took me to a pointless page regarding organ donation with only a return button provided to the previous page. When I pressed continue again I was informed my 20min time frame was up and to start again. I tried again however, I was then told my driving information could no longer be accessed and I had to wait 20mins to try again and if this did not work then 24hrs before I could apply again. If I had applied on a mobile device then try on another device, so I waited 20mins with the same outcome.

This website is absolutely pointless, garbage and a complete waste of time. I would seriously ignore the useless online application and go straight for option 2 being the Post Office.

My examiner cat from the East Kilbride centre, was absolutely amazing. She made me feel at ease, but was buzzing anyways lol. She was very nice and honestly was like being in a car with a professional. Sorry don't know her second name but honestly top marks from me thankyou so much cat, even when you were meant to be off. Was a pleasure to share the car with you 😀

An absolute joke no one to talk to a live chat that's hopeless wasted time shocking

My daughter Been waiting since July 2022 it's now December to have my licence sorted after being seizure free for over a year . They send wrong forms to wrong doctors to fill out even tho I have given and made my priority to send back what ever has been requested. The forms take 10 days just to be put on system that's every time u send something back !!! This is a appalling service that's not improved at all

so after a call to the DVLA/who wants to be a millionaire. I was asked my address to which I replied. Next question; what is your date of birth? correct! Next question what's your middle names? bingo we are on a roll! Now the million dollar question, what is your age? 47.. no wait sorry i have just turned 48, 48 I'm 48! Sorry sir i have to take your first answer. You are now locked out of the system and will have to write a letter to Swansea. Surly i can email them? No! but I live abroad there must be another way? No! But that's crazy, surly there is another way? Sorry sir i have to end the call now.

Apologies can't give half a star! Not for for purpose in this day and age
You have to phone for documents which then get "assigned" to an agent and then get dispatched by snail mail (all within the quick Turnaround time of 4 weeks!!! And when you ask why can't I get this online the answer is "oh for data protection" thank god the NHS isn't led by the same incompetent people as the DVLA otherwise the excuse of Data protection could cost lives

NOT FIT FOR PURPOSE- Staff good but system atrocious. 3 weeks to scan a letter internally. Forms returned for 'proof', but nothing requested up-front, additional requests when they could have pre-empted. I pity the e.g, truck drivers, who have to choose between ZERO INCOME, and risking driving while awaiting this diabolical service. I, personally, was nearly KILLED by cycling collision whilst awaiting my well overdue licence-return.

Disgusting how they are still this bad. I could go on for pages of how there systems don't work, the staff dont understand the processes. They are still operate in ancient times. The staff do not answer questions, every call takes 1 hour. You are left with cars you cant register or tax for months.
WHAT CAN WE DO TO FORCE THEM TO CHANGE?

What a joke of a service well is it a service incompetent staff for sure, 4 times the V5 wrong not watching what they are amending each time. Phone call after phone call to them holding again upto an hour costing a fortune to be told send it back and we will amend it again for you with a covering letter explaining what is wrong and asked but it will be wrong again cant you amend it over the phone now, paying £6.95 for signature their end 3 times so far. I am sure they wont reimburse me on that will they. Quick enough to send out letters asking for £21 for expired driving licence due in January 2023 over 2 months early.

What are we paying for a service for get rid of them all and get robots to do it be more efficient and cost effective in time management.

Get your act together. Diabolical service.

Absolutely flipping useless quick enough to take my money but slow giving it back!!!! 25th of November I called up as they had taken a monthly payment off which I had cancelled it through them and they on the 1st of December took yet another payment after there was already a pending refund like you would think after making their first mistake the would put a block or something not take any more money like really were is the common sense Absolutely useless I am now over drawn by over £100 for their incompetence and I will be going further if I don't get my money back ice had it with thise people just keep taking called them up and got told 6 weeks like serious no gavd them I week need my money back 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬

I took the private plate off my car, then sold the car. Now, the DVLA website will not allow me to notify them of the sale (I tried using both old and new registration numbers) and I can't cancel the road tax. Thank you DVLA for nothing, you are completely useless.

I'm without any document for my car from 6 months. Dvla firstly denied to ship documents for my address, secondly, after I provided another address, they now process application. It's showing crisis in UK in my opinion. I'm without any document and I can't drive the car outside the UK, neither inside UK as I can't tax it.

I’ve rung 42 times ,by law I need to inform the dvla of the fact that I’m now on insulin , every tine I ring the medical team of dvla …. No matter what time of day , they inform me “they are too busy to take calls at present , so what am I supposed to do

Almost a year to process a medical review. Absolute shambles.

Absolutely no online support, have to send documents via post and have to send money enclosed in a letter. Are they stuck in the 1900s??

Having applied online for a new driving licence I was amazed to receive the licence within six days of my application.

I tried to get customer service through web chat - it took a very long time to connect with a representative.

I had to get on with some other stuff and unbeknownst to me I had been connected and the representative closed the chat.

Had the service been quicker, I wouldn't have missed the chat and my time (and the rep's time) would not have been wasted.

Camper build started with DVLA requirements and kept to it costing more. They said failed as will not look like a camper to police or Gov body. Well kids adults asked all say obviously camper van. Just another example of Gov body rules (laws) are to suit not whats right/fair/just.
