My husband purchased two online dresses for my birthday from Earthen Threads, based in Victoria and India. Many weeks after my birthday and, after emails to the company asking why the order was so late, a parcel finally arrived. Enclosed were two kaftans, not the dresses which had been paid for.
I wrote the following to Earthen Threads: To Whom It May Concern,
I have just returned home after surgery and found that a package, via Aramex, had been left for me.
When I opened the parcel sent to ………… Queensland. Australia, I found two Kaftans. I did not order kaftans and I would never wear a kaftan. The two items I ordered were dresses in the same prints.
From the start, my husband had to email to ask as to where the items of clothing were. Nothing had been sent to respond to the original order and it wasn’t until his third email that action at your end was taken.
I now wish to return the two kaftans and have the money returned to my husband’s bank account. It is outrageous that so many errors have been made throughout this ordering process.
Please send an address so that the two kaftans cab be returned to your Point Cook, Victorian office as soon as possible, otherwise, we will take the matter to our bank and suggest it is a scam and the order fraudulent.
Soon after I received the following reply from Team Earthen Threads:
Dear ………
We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience and confusion caused regarding your recent order. It’s truly unfortunate that you received the incorrect items, and we completely understand your frustration, especially considering the delays and the back-and-forth communication.
We strive to deliver the correct products to all our customers, but it appears that an error was made during the packing process. We are committed to resolving this for you as quickly as possible.
Please allow us to arrange a return for the kaftans you received. We will send you a return label and provide the necessary instructions. Once the items are received, refund will be processed back to your husband’s bank account without any further delay.
We are truly sorry for the inconvenience this has caused and appreciate your patience and understanding. Rest assured, we are taking steps to ensure that such errors do not occur in the future.
If you have any further concerns, please feel free to reach out directly. We are here to assist you.
Warm regards,
Team Earthen Threads
Since then I have emailed two more times. The first of these emails was as follows:
Thank you for your prompt response to my email and my message via chat room.
I appreciate your willingness to follow this up with a refund to my husband's account.
We will be away for one week, leaving tomorrow and returning on Friday, 1st November. At that stage I should have received your Return Label and will forward the unwanted items to you for the refund label. Many thanks, …………
Then I sent the following:
To Whom It May Concern,
I emailed you more than one week ago regarding the return of 2 kaftans that had not been ordered.
You returned a reply apologising for the error made and, the previous toing-and-froing of emails, as to where the garments were. In your apology email you state that, "We are committed to resolving this for you as quickly as possible.
Please allow us to arrange a return for the kaftans you received. We will send you a return label and provide the necessary instructions."
I am still awaiting the return label. Where is it coming from - India?
I thanked you for responding to me promptly, but alas, I have returned home from my week’s holiday and nothing has arrived - either by post or email.
I trusted your good will, but again, I have been let down. Kindly let me know when and how the label will arrive. This order was made before September; it's now November.
Yours sincerely, …….Please note, I sent this email twice
Then, a week later I wrote the following email:
To Whom It May Concern,
Please read the below emails to and from your company. I would like a response within 24 hours, otherwise I will contact my bank to notify that this is all a scam.
…………..
I have still not received a Return Label, a reply - other than the original response whereby Team Earthen Threads apologised so sincerely.
DO NOT BUY FROM EARTHEN THREADS. The people involved tell lies, misrepresent their refund policy, speak about customer satisfaction, but they have no clue what it is and do not tell the truth about refunds. It is a company that wants to come across as authentic, guarantee you ‘the world’, want you to be a member of the Earthen Threads Family (why would I want to do that?) I don’t like to be lied to and cheated by a dishonest, greedy, manipulative and conniving business. Neither should you. The whole business is a scam!
I ordered a kaftan which was promised as 3-5 days delivery. It was two weeks late and when it arrived it was dreadful quality.
I emailed to return and had to send photos which I did immediately, and since then I have been fobbed off for over 3 weeks. I am only waiting for a label, surely it can be emailed?
I do not trust this company!
An advertisement appeared on Facebook. Buy 2 or 3 caftans and receive a free gift. In all good faith I purchased 3 caftans and they came with no free gift. I am very upset as it was this offer that persuaded me to buy 2 extra caftans that I would not have otherwise bought. This is false advertising and also if a gift is promised and a purchase is made then it should be honoured. I will not be purchasing from this company again and will be raising an issue with Paypal. They also do not reply to emails and so if you have a problem then you are stuck with it as they do not get back to you. I would AVOID.
