ECL | Person-centred Care Reviews 

I attended the ECL Centre at Jessop Court in Loughton yesterday for an event and was invited as a service working with ECL to support unpaid carers.
The manager Oliver and team - yesterday it was Suzanne, Carol, Linda, Jess and apologies if I've forgotten anyone- are totally amazing and those attending had what I can only describe as a joyous time singing, dancing, chatting and eating cake , enjoying a different setting from home and a chance to meet others whilst receiving fantastic care.
As always, the atmosphere is supportive, empowering and uplifting

For starters I believe it is an excellent service Wendy and Reece [north team] are always at the other end of the phone if needed. Lastly if you have learning disabilities and need a hand into employment I definitely recommend their services. Also, I was really worried at first to be honest because I didn't think I would be successful but Wendy and Reece helped me believe I can do it from the beginning, this is only the start of my journey!

Hi Linda Lloyd is the person who was in contact with me to help me with knowing how to place a safeguarding order, I had no idea how to go about this and Linda was very supportive towards me and my husband and could see the issues we are having with our autistic daughter. I can’t thank her enough for her help and advice

ECL has been a big help, my job coach Katie was determined to help find me a job she has helped me feel confident and is very supportive.

Mum had been in a care home. On returning home we were introduced to the services of ECL. Mum attended the day centre and enjoyed herself immensely. All the staff are so friendly and helpful. Nothing being too much trouble. Mum looks forward to her visits and we know that while she is there she will be safe. In such as short space of time we feel part of a family.
Thank you to everyone. It is so wonderful that you bring so much happiness to our mum and give us as a family, support and peace of mind.

I would like to leave a review regarding Samantha the sustainment coach. Samantha is a fantastic person and ECL coach. She cares so much about those she supports. She embodies someone who heart and soul wishes to understand and advocate for those she coaches. I very kind understanding person indeed. She is extremely understanding and patient as a coach. She is always pleasant. There are not many people out there like the ECL coaches and like Samantha. Thank you Sam. In a world where the world can be cruel to those who think and function differently you are someone who changes that. You should be proud of the work you do and I’m incredibly grateful. Thank you.

When I joined ECL to begin with and had gotten to know them, they did actually ask me to write a review for them here. A glowing review for which I gave 5 stars. After about a year with them I decided to take it down as I no longer felt that way. I was tempted to update it with a negative review but decided to hold off and see were things go. To their credit things did improve...for a time. Whether or not I've just been very unlucky or just needed a different kind of support that they couldn't offer, I don't know. Whilst its very clear judging by recent reviews that they have had a positive affect on some people (and just to be clear I've had a mix of both positive and negative experiences with ECL). They are CLEARLY not for everyone, especially if you're autistic. It's something to keep in mind. I was with them for about a year and a half before I posted this review and I haven't had contact with them since January. Overall I feel completely let down and betrayed by them at this point and it doesn't feel right to stay silent on this. My advice is simple, approach with caution.

What can I say about ECL is really helpful and kind they help my to find a job that I want to do and Mal Johnson was really helpful as she knows her self and she help me in so many ways I can't give thanks but I'm grateful! For her for helping me in way I can't put into words Mal is like a angel

Absolutely incredible care. As a care home and day centre entertainer, I visit many, many settings. ECL has blown me away with the level of care they provide. The staff are so engaged with the customers you would think they are looking after their own parents. I have rarely seen such genuine affection shown from carer givers to care receivers. It's a bonus that I am also treated with respect when I visit, but I am just so completely impressed with the happy, safe, uplifting atmosphere you are met with when you enter ECL Loughton. You really feel like you have walked into a family gathering, such is the warmth shown between customers and staff alike. Well done ECL Loughton, keep up the excellent work. You are a credit to your community.

I have been in the care of ELC staff during my stay at the Colonia court care home in Colchester Essex where I have spent the past month in the final phase of recovery from a knee cap operation .ELC staff "Ronda", "Rhea" and "Louise "have been amazing providing encouragement ,guidance and all round support for every aspect of my recovery and will be there when I return to my home to give further assistance. I have never felt so at ease and able to put my trust in people as I have with them always being there for me whatever the situation .My experience with them has restored my faith in Human nature in a world that has no time for the individual and their needs. ECL is obviously a company which employs the very highest training standards and cares about it's customers .

Jessica & her team go above and beyond for the care of my wife. After only a short time in going once a week to the day centre my wife & myself couldn’t be happier & is making such a difference in our lives…

ECL staff have been attending my husband for the last 6 weeks and have been pleasant, patient people living up to ECL's reputation, thank you

Mel has been absolutely amazing supporting my daughter with kindness and understanding.
She has been a godsend to my family and I will always appreciate all her hard work and tireless efforts in securing a job position for her.

Mark Sansom has been supporting our son to find work.
Mark has always been very positive, supportive, communicative and realistic when dealing with this quest for employment. Our son needs a lot of support to get through the training required for a role in the care industry and at times this has been a bit challenging. I have the feeling that the care industry just needs a bit of shove every now and then to keep it rolling… However, with Mark is “at the helm” things progress well.
Clearly Mark has a great deal of knowledge and experience of how people with Autism and ADHD work and see the world, and the challenges that they face every day of their lives. I am confident that Mark is working extremely hard to provide the support that our son needs and has his very best interests at heart. Mark is also very much the kind of person that I, as a concerned parent and busy business owner can get on well with and we trust completely to provide the help and support that we, as a family, desperately need.
We are extremely grateful to Mark for the effort that he has made and continues to make to support our son. We have absolutely no hesitation in firmly recommending Mark to anybody who needs this type of support.

Richard has helped my daughter Sarah find a job and get settled into it. Now she is gaining confidence through the support she is receiving. Very happy with the help and guidance she is getting.

I recently was in Winsford Care Home in Clacton on Sea from 28th Jan to 25th Feb 2026 under the Recovery To Home scheme. I came from hospital where I had treatment for Guilliam Barre Syndrome and had received physiotherapy to help me walk again and needed time to improve before I went home. The Essex Cares Ltd staff could not have been more helpful, encouraging, friendly every day and efficient in organising the equipment I needed for home. A huge shout out and thanks to Rhonda, Lou, Livia the ECL ladies and Kudzayi the physiotherapist.

We got the absolute pleasure of working with Mark Sansom an Employment Consultant at ECL, what a breath of fresh air, he listened to the needs and abilities of the adult, took into consideration the kind of jobs they wanted to do and ones they did not. He worked so well with the employers and adults combined and even managed to get a free day at the cricket ground for everyone to attend.
If only ECL could clone Mark it would make the experience a lot more pleasurable for the adults.
Mark made the adults feel relaxed and spoke to them and not at them, he really is the best and we hope you keep up the good work.
I hope ECL realise how lucky they are to have someone like you on their team, I hope you get the recognition you so deserve for all of your hard work and dedication.

ECL have been providing carers for an elderly relative with dementia, after she had a long stay in hospital. The staff have been amazing, very patient and thoughtful. Victoria, in particular, has provided outstanding care.

We have been training the staff of Loughton on the Virtual Dementia tour. Cannot express how amazing the staff did. Everyone in the building was polite kind and considerate and made us trainers feel very welcome

A big thank you to Linda and Caroline at ECL for all the help they provide. They are friendly and professional and have a wealth of experience in finding employment for people with special needs. Their help is invaluable.
