Terrible avoid! Fixed the water leak in the first hour at the cost of £265, then wanted to go into the next hour to bleed the radiators at the cost of an extra £265. he wasn’t happy that I refused the second hour. Had no social skills what so ever. Obviously ripped me off on parts too, that was extra, plus vat. £400 in total.

Avoid at all costs! I was charged £1300 for work that should probably cost £200-300 at the most and job not complete. I've tried to complain to emergency plumber. Numerous phone calls emails, no response!!

We paid £264 for an emergency repair. The repair failed less than 24 hours later. Called the call centre and Whatsapped several times to be told that a manager would call me back. They haven’t. I am currently awaiting a callback ‘within half an hour.’ Avoid at all costs.

Awful. Extortionate. Spend hours walking about. Have to go and get rods not available from their van... etc.

Awful awful company. Nasty scammers who don’t stop calling after you choose not to go ahead with them. The plumber who was passed the job called before leaving Exeter (which is an hour away from us) to tell us the real price which would have been double what they quoted on the phone, so we said to him not to head over and we’d cancel the call out. They have a WhatsApp number with a person who replies to messages confirming they will pass on your complaint to a line manager and yet still the aggressive lady keeps calling and demanding a call out fee, for a job that was cancelled before it was even confirmed with the plumber. They operate under different names as well so beware! I’ve advised them if anyone turns up to my property the police will be called and I’ve recorded and logged all the aggressive phone calls I’ve had this evening.

Rung at 5pm and told I would have a 'technician' within1 hour maximum. Three hours went by with no update other than it with with the area manager. Eventually they sent me a WhatsApp message saying they were cancelling as they didn't have anyone available- not sure how they are able to advertise a service they cannot fulfil.

Luckily I was saved a very hefty call out fee probably avoided a cowboy but still a very frustrating few hours!

Shocked at the lack of ethical procedure. I called on Sunday and booked a contractor to replace a basin pedestal on Monday 4pm. I was told the call out and first hour would be £264. I agreed, not knowing that this was their emergency call out rate. Scheduled rate is £144! I was assured by their phone consultant the contractor will 'quickly' source the part I need and then fit it. I paid for an hour of his time to drive around and find the part. I have no idea what was actually happening in that hour. When he eventually returned, it took 10 minutes to install. I've emailed their customer help line. Hopefully there is a resolution.
Update - blame being shifted to me for accepting the only rate they provided - the emergency callout rate - instead of informing and amending to a scheduled call out rate.
Please avoid this company if you value your money and sanity.

Do not use even if you are desperate! I had a flooded house and a backed up internal drain meaning I couldn’t use the water at all and they claimed to have a qualified technician with me within 30-60 mins. This later turned into 9am the following morning, being assured on the phone they will definitely be here. A day later and I am ‘waiting for a call from the area manager’ - all this time wasted when I could have found someone to do the job. This company are total cowboys - do not touch!

If there was a option for zero stars I would give that. This service is a scam I called today to ask for a price then I was inform someone would message me via WhatsApp to discuss everything and I should respond to that. I didn’t confirm the booking I was calling to get a price and they trying to scam me and I called back after a few minutes to cancel it and the number was not going through but now they are threatening me to call the police on me if I didn’t pay them. They taking advantage of people in situations like this instead of trying to help them.

We discovered a leaking boiler in our kitchen at 6am, so called this company in desperation. I'd shut the water off, so we had no running water or heating and two children aged 1 and 3 to look after (one of them was really poorly and vomiting as well). They promised to send a plumber in 30-60 minutes. He arrived after 2+ hours. He was friendly and seemingly professional, found the leak and started repairs. 8 hours later he finished and gave us a bill for £3000+. We were shocked, but didn't have any choice so took it as a valuable lesson to avoid "24-hr emergency" companies like this in the future.

However, soon after the plumber left, the boiler started leaking from a new place, clearly as a result of his "repairs". When we finally got in touch with him by mobile and asked for help, he just said we needed to get a new boiler and was totally unhelpful. He basically abandoned us.

We also contacted the company customer service (we'd been in text contact throughout the day). I explained our situation, still with no water, no heating, and a sick child to care for. They promised the area manager would be in touch. An hour went by. Then two hours. Then 24 hours. I kept contacting them but this "area manager" never got back to us. Obviously all they cared about was getting the £3000+. Once we'd paid up, they couldn't care less.

Eventually we managed to find a local, reputable plumber who came round to fix the new leak. He was a PROPER professional. He described the first bill as an "absolute rip-off". He didn't know why the original plumber had taken 8 hours on the job, but could tell that he'd not done a good job. He also said the line about us needing a new boiler was rubbish - it was fine, it just needed some small parts replacing. This second plumber fixed the (new) leaks in under 3 hours, did a full service, and charged a tenth of what the first plumber had charged. It's worth mentioning that he also cancelled his Sunday lunch plans to come and help us out when he realised how desperate we were. A far cry from the appalling service we got from Emergency Plumber 24 Hour.

Verdict: don't touch this company even in an emergency. They charged us an absolute fortune for a botched job and then abandoned us, sick freezing child and all. Find a local plumber with a good reputation.

Do not use this company!! Called them to deal with a leak in which they sent someone within 30 minutes. He fixed the leak which was great however when it came to paying the £164 I paid by card. I put my pin in the machine and the plumber said it didn't work the first time, so i tried again and he said the payment was successful. The next thing I get 2 notifications from my bank that the payment has been taken out twice! In total £328! I've spent over a week calling this company to get £164 refunded back to my account just to either be ignored or fobbed off saying the manager will call me straight back. I'm not being unreasonable I just want my money back! An absolute disgrace of a company and just blatant thieves and con artists. AVOID!!!

Called for an emergency plumber due to a burst pipe and advised someone would be with us within the hour; an hour and a half later I chased to be told ‘a manager will call you back’ - which they promptly did, to advise that they had no plumbers available. Clearly a fake business.
