Super convenient and user friendly!
I've used I.C.E. to complete con ed online for the past 10 years or so and was notified that Empire would be the new platform. I contacted Empire via chat to ask a few questions and the response was immediate and my questions were answered. Yesterday I completed the two courses I purchased and was very happy with the entire experience. I did like I.C.E but I must say this platform was even more user friendly and the best part was it offered the chance to save my progress and continue later. I will definitely continue using Empire.

do not use this, use first tuesday. on several occasions after loging off its taken me back to a previous sections. Very frustrating and waste of time. It also freezes up a lot

A few reasons
A few reasons: Too much emphasis on NAR even though at least half the US realtors are not members of NAR; the same for NYS where about half the realtors are not members of NAR. There were a number of glaring typos in the lessons, and at least one as a header to a section: it listed the word "Intact" as "In Tact". This should never happen. Further, the course on ethics felt as if it was directly quoted from the NAR code of ethics. As to the exam questions, there were too many "what' questions rather than "why". "What" doesn't test knowledge, nor did the few questions which asked for dates. If exam questions are properly written, the "why" can be solicited very simply. As a NYS instructor teaching the entire real estate sales course, and some continuing education as well, I use dates as a reference to the whats and whys, not as an end-all by themselves. I have two more years to determine whether I'll entrust Empire with my CE again.

Elementary Course, poorly written
This was very, very basic. Very little of the info used is helpful to a broker / loan officer on a day to day basis. No talk of TRID requirements, not talk of tolerances and how they really apply. Tolerances outside 10% are paid by the lender/broker at time of closing and pulled from commissions.
Lots of repetitive info. Way too much talk of the homestead exemption, scenarios used are not realistic, etc... You can clearly tell that whoever wrote these scenarios and questions, does not work daily as an MLO. This is about money, not about helping MLOs better and more efficient at their job.

Worst CE experience ever!!
Constant reverification requiring logging back in using an idiotic draw with your mouse feature that is extremely sensitive. Why can’t you use a verification code sent to a phone like everyone else?
Forced redo of chapters completed after a forced logout. No countdown to know when you can move ahead.
Forcing people to sit and wait before moving ahead is total incompetence. Only the government would come up with something so stupid. You either know the answers or you don’t.
Complete irrelevant material. Nothing new to learn and multiple spots where the same material, including test questions, is repeated over and over for no good reason.
Complete waste of time!

Our courses go through a rigorous NMLS approval process, and many of the items you mentioned—such as minimum time per section, minimum word counts, and overall timing requirements—are mandated by NMLS regulations and must be followed by all approved CE providers.
Regarding identity verification, BioSig-ID is a third-party authentication system required by the NMLS to verify student identity throughout the course. We understand it can be frustrating, but this requirement is enforced across all CE providers.
We always appreciate feedback from students and encourage you to reach out to the NMLS directly if you would like to share your concerns about these requirements.
Improvements Needed
Convenient. Could be more entertaining. Each lesson was 3 parts. Initial training, then a video review and then a written review. All three were virtually identical which made training more tedious. Also Bio sign in is very inconvenient when using a touchscreen. It never matches exactly and I had to reset my login 16 times. I probably spent an hour just trying to login. Another item that was inconvenient is I tried to do my training on lunch breaks and breaks. Don't put a save progress screen under every lesson if it really doesn't save your progress to start back on that page. I often had to repeat lessons I already covered. Another 1-2 hours I didn't need to spend, plus I had to go through the automated timing session over again when I already covered the lesson. Once the minimum overall time you need to spend on training has passed I don't believe you should have to have a minimum time frame for every page.

Empire's customer service is second to…
Empire's customer service is second to none!
However the course material repeated itself at the very end. The HELOC module & the video for that played through twice. There was no way to exit from it either. So it prolonged the course since, in order to complete the course and access the final exam, one had to sit through that material to the end

I thought it was really well put together, direct, and did not waste any of my time. Keep in mind I've been doing these for about 20 years and definitely have some opinions. The tests were helping memory for details, quick, and easy to understand. (no trick questions) I'll use them again next time!
