Formal Complaint Regarding Misrepresentation of Hotel Room Reservation


I made a reservation through ETS Tur for Blue Dream Hotel in Bodrum for the period of June 19–21. During the reservation process, I repeatedly and clearly informed the sales representative that I wanted a room with a sea view.

I also explained that I would be traveling with friends and that it was important for our rooms to be located close to each other and have similar features. For this reason, I provided the reservation numbers of my friends to the representative.

Despite these clear requests, a discounted “PromoClub” room was reserved for me, and my request for a sea-view room was completely ignored. Upon arrival at the hotel, I discovered that the room assigned to me had no view at all; in fact, there was a wall directly in front of the window. When I raised the issue with the hotel staff, I was informed that the hotel was fully booked and that they could not offer a room change or any other form of compensation.

When I later contacted ETS Tur, I was told that I had approved this room category during a phone call. However, throughout all of my conversations, I repeatedly stated that I wanted a sea-view room. Despite this, the sales representative sold me a lower-category PromoClub room that did not match my requirements, without providing clear and sufficient information about the room's features, and then claimed that I had approved it.

As customers, we cannot reasonably be expected to know what room names such as “PromoClub” mean in terms of view, location, or room characteristics. It is the responsibility of ETS Tur and its sales representatives to provide accurate information and ensure that the room being sold matches the customer's stated requirements.

Furthermore, the sales representative did not send me the reservation confirmation by email. I was only provided with a reservation number. Had the reservation confirmation and room details been sent to me in writing, I would have had the opportunity to identify the mistake before my trip and request a correction. This demonstrates a lack of proper communication and transparency during the reservation process.

In addition, all of my conversations with ETS Tur were recorded. Since there was a disagreement regarding what had been discussed during the booking process, I specifically requested copies or transcripts of the recorded phone calls in order to verify the facts. However, my request was refused.

Instead of reviewing the recordings with me or providing access to them, I was simply told that I was mistaken and that the error was my responsibility. I find this response unacceptable, particularly because the recordings would clearly demonstrate that I repeatedly requested a sea-view room throughout the reservation process. Refusing to share or review the recordings while simultaneously placing the blame entirely on me raises serious concerns regarding transparency and the fair handling of customer complaints.

As a result, instead of enjoying the sea-view room that I specifically requested, I was forced to spend my vacation in a lower-category room with no view. This situation significantly affected my comfort, satisfaction, and overall holiday experience. I believe I was misled during the booking process and was sold a discounted PromoClub room instead of the sea-view room that I had repeatedly requested.

I respectfully request that ETS Tur conduct a thorough investigation into this matter, review the recorded conversations, examine the errors made during the reservation process, and provide appropriate compensation for the inconvenience, disappointment, and financial loss I have suffered as a result of this experience.

I look forward to receiving your response and a fair resolution to this complaint.

Avoid!

Avoid!

We booked our excursions through Etstur as they were in our hotel and we thought they would be reliable. We paid via an online link and received our confirmation.

We were told to be at the front of our hotel for 9.05am for pick up of our jeep safari, We got there at 8.55am to be sure we wouldn’t miss our pick up. At 9.15am no one had arrived to pick us up, everyone else waiting to be collected for different tours had now been picked up.

We what’s app’d the representative who told us to ‘hold on’ then came back to say they where sorry and there had been an error and we where not booked on. Even though we had received email confirmation of the booking with the date! We had planned our week around our excursions, he said go to your dolphin show this afternoon and just do jeep safari tomorrow. This was not possible for us as we had made dinner arrangements near the dolphin show the following day.

We agreed to go the day after the dolphin show and rearrange our plans for that day. He said as compensation he would make sure we didn’t pay for anything whilst on the trip and that he would book us in for an extra a la carte meal at the hotel. None of this materialised. Empty promises.

I booked a holiday with Estur and it was an absolute disaster from start to finish. The customer service was awful—getting in touch with anyone for help was nearly impossible. When I finally got through, they were rude and unhelpful.

The accommodation was nothing like what was advertised. The room was dirty, outdated, and had a terrible smell. To make matters worse, the hotel staff didn’t seem to care at all. The food was barely edible, and we ended up eating out most of the time, even though we had paid for all-inclusive.

On top of that, our airport transfer never showed up, leaving us stranded and having to pay extra for a taxi. When I contacted the company for a refund, they completely ignored my request.

I regret booking with them and would strongly advise others to stay away. Save your money and book with a company that actually cares about its customers!

My spouse booked a hotel through Etsy…

My spouse booked a hotel through Etsy Tur, but when we arrived, it was an absolute disaster. The hotel was filthy and completely uninhabitable. When we requested to change the hotel, they refused to assist us. This level of poor service was truly disappointing. I would never recommend this company to anyone!

Tay away from vacationing with Ets Tur."

Due to the frequent fraud incidents we've heard about in Sapanca, to ensure our safety and avoid trouble, I booked a 2-night stay in Sapanca through Ets Tur. We set off, happily anticipating our vacation with my family. However, about an hour before arriving at the hotel in Sapanca, the hotel manager called to ask if we had made a reservation for today and tomorrow. I confirmed that we had. The hotel manager then informed me that the bungalow I had booked (a 80 square meter private pool, secluded, with a kitchen) for three days was full. I explained how this could be possible, noting that the Ets Tur representative had kept me on the phone for 20 minutes to confirm the reservation and that the hotel had confirmed availability at the time. I also mentioned that we were on our way to the hotel. The hotel manager said they had not been contacted by Ets Tur.

While we were discussing this, my daughter, who overheard the conversation, started crying on the way, upset about not being able to go on vacation. I then contacted Ets Tur representatives to resolve the situation. Thus began our vacation ordeal, dealing with Ets Tur and the hotel throughout our journey. On the first day of our vacation, instead of starting at 14:00 in our bungalow, we spent the time until 19:00 on the phone with Ets Tur at a café in Sapanca. After traveling so far, I was frustrated by the lack of resolution, my daughter was crying, and I was left feeling humiliated due to Ets Tur's negligence. I reported my experience to the general management via phone, but they only kept me waiting for hours with promises of a solution. Eventually, they offered a refund, but by then, I had already lost trust in Ets Tur. If I hadn't trusted Ets Tur, I would have been resting at home with my money still in my pocket. I’ve learned the hard way that relying on Ets Tur for travel is a mistake. From now on, I will avoid using Ets Tur entirely. I don’t recall experiencing such distress before. If you book a hotel through Ets Tur, think twice—you might end up stranded on the street with your luggage, waiting in vain for a resolution.
