This company is running a con. Buyers please be aware. I purchased a carving some 8-10 weeks ago at a cost of over £1000. It’s was a special carving I wanted in memory of my mother who passed away in the summer. She was a devout Hindu and this was a very special item. Exotic India took my money and have not delivered the item. I have contacted them many many times politely and they can’t be bothered to reply in any form. I can only assume they are not legitimate and taking people’s money since I can’t get hold of anybody at the company or any replies. I’ve reported them to the relevant UK authorities and commenced a fraud case with my card issuer. Buyers be aware and purchase with your eyes wide open that you may never recieve your item!

Ordered a large hardback book from them. They had a very good price and they shipped promptly from India to US. Was well packed and arrived in excellent condition.
Also, they have good customer service- both phone and text.

I am based in Australia and was interested in buying a sterling silver pendant for A$87. I reached out to the team via Whatsapp and asked for a real photo. At first Rahul responded and Heena promised to share it but didnt send any for 2 hours. When I followed up, the said they are sending it now but then came back after a few minutes and said its out of stock when the item shows in stock in their website. Then they blocked me. I asked for a real photo as the online one was edited and looked unrealistic. Please stay away from them. 0 customer service. Thank God I checked before ordering.

I mostly buy books from Exotic India, as they have some rare titles in their collection. Bit pricy but you get it when a book is not available in the library around you. Many a time they have to source a book for you, to fulfill your order , that takes time but they do stick to their commitment.
Generally happy with their service. However the app needs work. My orders never display accurate data.

They have rare books, and books are in good condition. However one always needs to call customer support and follow up a few times personally for the order to be shipped. The shipping time is very long. They may even take 10-15 days to ship, and shipping charge is also inordinately high, even though they send by normal India post. However the most frustrating thing is they keep out of stock items in the inventory on the website, and allow customers to place orders for out of stock items. Then you have to keep chasing them for weeks, no one will have any information. Or they will just keep assuring you that yes it will be shipped in another 2 days. Finally after 2 weeks of chasing, someone will be honest enough to inform that it was indeed an out of stock item and cannot be shipped. This happened to me twice on this website. Usually if the book is available on any other site I will avoid buying from Exotic. . But overall a pathetic experience as no one will proactively inform you that it is an out of stock item. Firstly out of stock items should not even be listed for purchse. You have to keep chasing them to have an update.

FAKE people.. Scamsters .. Dont buy anything on there app or the website....
I had ordered a book from their website,prepaid on 25 th August 2025 and still not received.. Number is not reachable or switched off .But message they are recieving on Whats app but no response..
If number gets connected they do not puck up..A big scam...I have messaged them to refund but no response...

Beware! Please do not shop with them unless you want to loose your money and end up frustrated . 7 days have passed since I placed my order and it hasn’t shipped yet . Customer service is hopeless and stay silent if you ask for an update on when it will ship . I asked for the order to be cancelled and my money to be refunded they are again silent. Extremely untrustworthy lot! They expect you to wait indefinitely with no clarity given on what is actually happening.

Ordered a singing bowl for a birthday gift. 4 days pass with no dispatch notice.

Messaged customer service, they sold me a bowl that was out of stock. No information on when it would be in stock.

I asked if I changed the order would it arrive on time. No response
I asked to cancel my order. No response

I'm going to have to go through visa and chargeback the transaction on my card. They just won't respond to any of my messages.

What a waste of time...

After submitting this review they contacted me to process a refund, asking me to take down this review once I have my money back. Sorry guys, you didn't do me a favour by refunding me my money. The review stays up.

Rahul was very understanding of the situation and he was happy to help me out. Everything was resolved in a timely manner.
I have been shopping for years and will continue in the future.
