I have 3 dogs and have been with Figo via Costco for over a year. In order to register a pet, you must send in the last vet visit note including physical exam before they approve the pet insurance. I filed a claim last week and they put the claim on hold asking for the initial vet visit for this dog-WHICH THEY ALREADY HAVE! I had to call the vet and waste their time and also mine. Do NOT use this insurance. Try Lemonade instead as my family members use them and NEVER get hassled like this.

The first product or service I've purchased through Costco that I regretted. I'll be contacting Costco to let them know what a disappointment it is to be associated with this company. My claim was denied because of a "pre-existing" condition that I wasn't aware of. After years of paying for pet insurance, the first time I actually needed coverage it was denied. These companies are happy when you're paying your premiums but turn their backs on you when it's time for money to be paid back. The one time I actually tried to use this insurance they failed me. Avoid at all costs.

Took too many inquiries to reimburse claim. This was a simple yearly visit. Im not sure the cost of this insurance is advantageous for me to continue paying. Still deciding if I should continue coverage due to high montly premiums.

Get Figo! They were transparent, easy-to-reach, and they covered exactly what they said they would

I'm canceling my policy. I started a Figo pet insurance policy in May of 2023 and got a discount using my Costco membership. Very disappointed with the very poor coverage made even worse by the expensive and ever increasing monthly premiums. We have submitted a grand total of 6 claims in 3 years. The claims were for visits costing us $1,443. We got a total of $302 reimbursed which is about 21% of the $1,443. In one year the premium went up 21%, and the next year it went up a very reasonable 3%, but this year it's going up over 10%. A total increase of over 37% in 3 years is far too much for far too little coverage. I gave it 2 stars instead of one for the ease of submitting claims electronically.

I have had dogs & cats all my life and never had insurance before. I felt very comfortable going thru Costco to get Figo cause of their reputation. Figo has treated me and my pets amazing prompt and any questions immediately respond and payment in my account fast. Thank you!

We purchased Figo pet insurance using our Costco benefit and highly recommend them. Figo has had our back throughout our dog's life! They are super responsive and always helpful when I have questions regarding our policy! They honor their policies and are usually quick to process our claims. We have been very happy with them :)

This company is a complete scam. I submitted 3 claims that clearly show the itemized costs that I paid at the vet. They said that my claims didn’t show an itemized receipt so they denied my claim 3 times !!! The items are clearly stated so this is when I knew this business was a huge scam! Do not trust them! I will be telling everyone to avoid this insurance company at all costs !

We've been paying Figo for 4.5 years to insure our 2 dogs. No claims filed until one of our dogs needed to have 4 teeth extracted. Claim denied because of "pre-existing" even though the vet wrote a letter saying the condition started AFTER we signed up for coverage. Appealed to no avail. Why spend thousands on insuring your dogs to get peace of mind, and then find out you're denied and exposed when you need it most? It's like we just threw thousands of dollars at Figo for absolutely nothing – all claims denied, no peace of mind. We got zero value out of Figo. Really disappointed as I'd signed up through Costco, which supposedly vets vendors for quality. Check out their BBB reviews before buying Figo.

I have insured 2 dogs with Figo. It is really easy to submit claims. They are reasonable and esponsive. I will use them again when I get another pet

Filing claims has never been easier! This company has great customer support and fast efficient service, whether you are working with them online or on the phone. I’m really happy with my choice.

Customer service representatives have always been extremely helpful since the very beginning when they assisted me in selecting the best plan for our 2 dogs. Recently our 10yo had TPLO surgery and is currently receiving rehab. The process to submit a claim takes less than 5 minutes and the claims are reviewed, accepted and paid in a timely manner. No issues with the claims, all have been paid as outlined in our policy.

I sent the invoices to Figo the next day they were approved three days later I received my checks.

Most things that I needed were not covered. So by the time I paid the premium and the cost of the service I basically broke even which saved me $0 hence rendering the insurance useless.

Filing claims is extremely easy. At the beginning, it took FOREVER for claims to be closed. Now it is going a little quicker. They have denied items based on reading documents incorrectly causing me to have to file an appeal. I too signed up because they are associated with Costco. The one thing I can count on…..they definitely take their premiums on time!

Having had pet insurance on my 10 year old dog with another company with no issues I thought about insuring my new puppy with them to find out that the plan I had was no longer available. I decided to try Figo because of the relationship with Costco. Figo has very poor customer service and support. After submitting a claim they asked for additional information from the vet which the vet provided. Figo failed to update the claim or communicate with me as to the status of the claim. In the app it was just marked as "Done!" It took multiple phone calls (50+), emails and chats over the course of a month to finally get the claim addressed

I signed up for Figo because it was affiliated with Costco and I thought they would provide great service because of this. However, it takes a very long time for claims to be processed with no communication about the status of claims or if more information is needed to process a claim. You need to follow up on your own.
I was carrying another policy because most insurance companies have a 6 month waiting period on certain procedures. However, I did not know this would affect the coverage on eligible claims I submitted with Figo. When my pet passed away unexpectedly, Figo would not cover ANY of the expenses because I had another policy. I didn't expect the full amount to be covered twice, but they could have at least covered the difference so the entire amount of my pet's final care was covered. I am VERY disappointed and will not be recommending Figo to any of my friends with pets.

My experience with Figo has been consistently disappointing, mainly because their coverage is far more limited than what many other pet insurance companies include as standard. Important items that should be basic — like euthanasia coverage and after‑care/disposal fees — are not included unless you pay extra for multiple riders. It feels less like comprehensive insurance and more like a base plan with a long list of upsells.
Another major issue is how Figo handles emergency vet visits. They do not automatically cover emergency exams unless the veterinarian is willing to certify that the situation was “life‑threatening.” The problem is obvious: you don’t know whether something is life‑threatening until the vet actually evaluates your pet. This puts pet owners in an impossible position during stressful moments, and it’s not a requirement I’ve seen with other insurers.
Figo insists that all of this is “clearly explained,” but in reality, the only place these limitations are spelled out is deep inside the policy documents. Their coverage summaries and marketing materials are written to sell the policy, not to help you understand what’s actually included. You have to dig through pages of fine print to discover what’s not covered — and there’s a lot that isn’t.
Overall, Figo feels more like a sales funnel than a transparent insurance provider. If you’re looking for straightforward, comprehensive coverage without hidden exclusions or required riders for basic protections, I would strongly recommend looking at other companies first.

We have a high maintenance dog with a lot of vet bills and Figo has been a lifesaver for us.
