I had an old Olympus OM10 film camera which I wanted to sell. I contacted several companies for quotes and Film Camera Store came back the highest offer. I was a little apprehensive after reading some of the reviews, but sent the camera off anyway. Within a day, Eilidh came back saying the camera was accepted and the agreed amount was in my bank account the next day. From my experince, you can sell your old kit to this company with confidence.

The camera never arrived. To ask how it went seems like a joke.

Camera arrived on time well packaged and in great condition

This is a one person company hence why there is delay in communication and delivery. The custom service isn’t the same as a big company but the product I received work fine. My order wasn’t complete and I had to email again but did get it a week later.

Avoid at all costs.
I purchased a camera just before Christmas with 24‑hour delivery promised. Despite this, it took nearly a week just to be dispatched.
When the camera finally arrived, it was in no condition to be used. I sent several emails to customer support, all of which were ignored until I hinted at taking legal action. Only then did I receive a response.
I was instructed to return the camera at my own expense, which I did immediately. After they received it, there was no communication for over two weeks. Despite having the camera back, they failed to process a refund in a reasonable timeframe.
I eventually received my refund more than a month after the original purchase.
The most concerning part of this experience was being told that they do not guarantee that certain parts of the camera will work — which is completely unacceptable for a product sold as functional.
You have been warned. Do not trade with this company, and pay close attention to the one‑star reviews — they reflect my experience exactly.

Ordered a small item well in time for Christmas 2025 on the 17th, paying £8.00 for express courier and was told on the 19th that my item (a present for my daughter) was on its way.
The tracking information via The Shop was ambiguous so I sent two e-mails asking for clarification that went unanswered.
Eventually the item arrived on December 29th via Evri. Their tracking showed that Evri received the parcel at 17.41 on the 22nd at a ParcelShop.
Read the reviews on TrustPilot, there's plenty of 1 stars, whereas the 5 stars don't look genuine to me.

They have a secret extended returns policy over Christmas which they only honour if you’ve enquired about it, a difficult feat with no knowledge of its existence. They refuse to accept a return despite it being within 14 days of receiving the item as a gift. Slow, unhelpful and accusatory customer services. There are far better camera stores out there who actually care about their customers and cameras and not just getting and keeping money. I'm also pretty sure they have biased moderation on their onsite reviews so I'd take them with a pinch of salt and trust what's here instead.

Unbelievable. The camera arrived broken, and when I tried to contact them, they haven’t responded to any of my emails, knowing I needed it to travel to Brazil. With a broken camera! It also doesn’t come with lens cap, failed to mention that. I work in the photographic industry, and I would never recommend that careless sloppy service.

I would avoid using this company. I ordered a near mint condition K1000 which was premium priced. When the camera arrived the condition was absolutely not as described. Returning the item at my own cost, and then having to chase repetitively for my refund, was not the best experience.

Olympus trip camera arrived as described in near mint condition.

I am very happy with the camera I bought! It is in extremely good condition and is exactly what I wanted. The customer service was also quick and very helpful. An excellent source of film camera’s which I will promote to others and definitely use again.

I’m not one to leave reviews but my experience with the film camera store was just absolutely amazing! Yes the camera was in great condition and packaged incredibly, but the communication and help from the team went above and beyond! Thank you so much, I couldn’t recommend enough.

The Film Camera Store offers a good selection of cameras, and I was pleased to find the model I was looking for listed as in stock. I opted for premium shipping and placed my order with confidence.
However, the experience fell short in terms of communication and customer service. Despite the item showing as in stock and payment being processed, I received no updates on shipping. I had to reach out myself to find out why the camera hadn’t been dispatched. Only then was I informed that the item wasn’t actually in stock, although it was shipped later that same day following my inquiry.
While I appreciated the refund of the premium shipping cost, the store's response to feedback about the lack of communication felt dismissive. Delays can happen — that’s understandable — but keeping customers informed is key to building trust.
Overall, my experience was mixed. I wouldn’t go out of my way to recommend Film Camera Store, but I wouldn’t warn people off either. If they improve their customer engagement, particularly around order updates and stock accuracy, they could offer a much stronger buying experience.

The item ordered was a Pentax flashgun, and its in good condition and in full working order.
