Publishing a book is a fraught experience especially if, like me, you are a technophobe, but FBP were a model of patience and understanding throughout. The finished book proved satisfactory in many ways, although (minor quibble) I would have liked a few complimentary copies!

The team did a wonderful job. There were a few minor delays and hiccups, but the end result was really worth it.

Working with Finest Book Publishers on my children’s book was outstanding from start to finish. Their team guided every step with care, creativity, and real expertise. The editors were attentive and supportive, helping my story shine while respecting my voice. The illustrators brought the characters to life with vibrant, engaging artwork that exceeded anything I imagined. I have sadly found the company to be very unprofessional e.g. agreeing to refund me the money I paid to them (after I explained my concerns to the “project manger”) but then not giving me the refund and holding my manuscript to ransom threatening to publish it under another author’s name unless I detracted the dispute I raised via Paypal and my bank!

The “Business Head’ a male, Anthony Hunter, called me and was verbally abusive, shouting and threatening me leaving me feeling very shaken indeed.

The company lacks transparency e.g. they do not give you written terms and conditions to read and sign before agreeing to use their services. If later you raise a complaint/concern as I did, they then will tell you that their terms and conditions are on their website (although these are not obvious to a website visitor).

In my opinion, this company preys on new first time authors (such as myself) using very misleading marketing tactics e.g. false, extravagant promises of success.

Finally, a naive, first time author can easily be caught out and as a result find themselves paying high costs for little value.

I suggest you do a Google search using the companies name and then the words, “scam” or “complaints”. Also read the Google AI Overview carefully before employing this company! I so wish I had done this.
You have been warned! Please take heed and learn from my mistake!

Re the reply below from Finest Book Publishers, I have still not yet received the refund that the project manager stated in writing on the 16th September via Basecamp, that I would receive. A refund would have been an "amicable" and "professional" resolution but as such this "matter" remains unresolved.
The company can still of course issue the refund and return my manuscript to me and should they do so then I would be happy to provide an updated and/or more positive review and score.
I am also more than happy to provide Trustpilot with evidence regarding the agreed refund and the ongoing threat from the company to hold my manuscript to ransom.

My bank has advised that the seller/retailer is perfectly entitled and able to make a direct refund to me which in turn would be shown in my bank account. I would then advise my bank of the transaction and make a request for my bank to close the dispute.
Furthermore, my manuscript has not yet been returned to me therefore the company is clearly continuing to hold it ransom.

UPDATE- 25/10/25 and 04/11/25-The project manager Jason Doss continues to state in writing via the “Basecamp” portal that they use to communicate to me through, that the company will make a refund but despite repeated requests they refuse to state in writing a) how much they will refund, b) the last 4 digits of the debit card I used to pay them the fee of £999 and c) a timescale for the refund.
I also continue to ask that the company returns my manuscript but this is still being held to ransom. Therefore I rest my case!

I will continue to update this review in order to protect anyone else falling prey to this company. If however, the company supply me with the information I have requested and/or refund me the amount I paid along with my manuscript, I will as agreed either upgrade and/or remove this review.

05/11/25-Trustpilot are "reviewing" my review as apparently the company Finest Publishing UK have "flagged" it to Trustpilot. I can assure Trustpilot and anyone else reading my review that it is an honest and accurate account.

I remain willing to resolve matters with FBP and have even made an offer of £100 from the £999 due for refund however, my offer has not been taken up so far.

23/01/26-Update, a full refund was awarded following an investigation by the Financial Ombudsman. Additionally, my book (“Change Your Story-Change Your Life”) was released Nov 2025 via a far more professional and honest publishing company (at a fraction of the cost compared with this company!) and is selling well i.e. over 70 copies in under 2 months! All is well that ends well!

Finest book publishers helped me at every stage of my book from my ideas right through to the finished article

Although marketing a book is not a simple chore, finest book publishers really present a plan with out come. They produced interesting material, help me establish a regular presence on social media, and directed me on how to rapidly expand my email list.
Their crew knew exactly what to do to bring my book in front of more readers, and I noticed a substantial increase in visibility and interaction. Over the process, they were proactive, inventive and easy to deal with. Definitely, I would work with them once more.
