Took my blood at the screening 5 months…
Took my blood at the screening 5 months ago and never got back to me about taking further steps. Claimed they were still waiting on my results back in January but it’s now April and I’ve heard absolutely nothing. Such a waste of time, awful company, would not recommend.

Volunteering at FluCamp: Pleasant, Comfortable, and Rewarding
I had a wonderful experience at FluCamp, and I would happily recommend it to anyone interested in volunteering for trial programs. My stay at the new facilities in Canary Wharf was very pleasant. Although the room was small, it provided all the comforts— a large TV, PlayStation, kettle, remote-controlled bed, internet, private bathroom with instant hot water, air conditioning for warmth, and most importantly, a large window with a stunning view of the entire London skyline.
Each day, I could order delicious, well-prepared meals through an app, including vegan options. Additionally, there was a constant supply of snacks from the very kind and friendly kitchen manager. It's also worth mentioning that the entire staff, including the doctors, was extremely polite and exceptionally helpful. They were all friendly and pleasant, always eager to answer my questions and attentive to my needs.
Throughout the quarantine period, I never once felt confined, as I had daily conversations with someone, and time passed quickly and pleasantly. My stay felt more like a hotel experience than a clinical one, and I look forward to contributing to medical research again by repeating this pleasant experience

Great experience with FluCamp
I participated in a 2-week clinical trial with FluCamp a few months ago and had a great overall experience. The trial was ideal for me as I work remotely, which meant I didn’t need to take time off, and living in London made attending the screening hub for appointments very easy and affordable.
I’m comfortable spending time alone, so being in a room for this amount of time was not a problem. The room had floor-to-ceiling windows with an amazing view of Canary Wharf, with entertainment options like a TV and PlayStation. I spent most of my time working, so I stayed busy.
It's worth noting that female participants must be on birth control to qualify for the trial. Additionally, Flucamp checks your medical records to ensure you meet the eligibility criteria.
I would recommend the trial to anyone who is comfortable with needles. There are multiple tests every day, including a daily blood test for 14 days, which can sometimes be physically challenging - some staff were better and more gentle with drawing blood than others. You are not allowed any caffeine, which was also tough, but these were the only real difficulties I faced during the trial.
The food options were excellent, even for those who don’t eat meat, and the portions were generous.
If you're accepted into a trial, I recommend bringing an eye mask and earplugs. The lights outside the room stay on until midnight, and staff can be a little noisy at times.
Flucamp’s communication before the trial could be more organised, but once I got through to them, everything during the trial ran smoothly. If you encounter any issues, I’d suggest being persistent and chasing things up.
Overall, the compensation made the experience well worth it, and as a result, I’m now able to go on my dream holiday! I hope to participate in another trial in the future 😊

10/10 Experience - Thank you FluCamp!
Where to start?
My experience with FluCamp was exceptional! I went into it not knowing what to expect and ended up getting the best treatment from the most friendly and experienced people. The room had the best view over Canary Wharf, great facilities i.e a kettle, a PS5 with loads of free games to choose from, a comfortable bed and warm duvet, a FluCamp bath robe, a desk, WiFi (shoutout to the WiFi that allowed me to work remotely perfectly!!). The actual trial was good and quite simple, you get loads of free time, the staff is lovely and constantly ask you how you are doing and seem to genuinely care. The food was so much better than what I expected, the meals are freshly cooked and dinner is usually a cuisine from around the world which I thought was a lovely touch! A shoutout to Anna and Alexiu from the kitchen who quickly learned what my favourite snacks were and constantly brought them over. The food app was quite straightforward but one thing I wish could be implemented would be calories for every single meal, since we are unable to exercise it would be good to have some control over what we consume. The 14 days went quite quickly, I read a lot and would recommend people bring their own entertainment as well so it does not get boring. I thoroughly enjoy my own company so it was a great opportunity to self reflect. I have received £1000 shortly after the quarantine and will be receiving the remaining £3000 after the follow up appointment. In total I had done 2 visits from applying in July 2024 to the second screening in October 2024, I was initially invited to a trial in November 2024 but the dates coincided with travel plans I had already made so I had to turn it down. Then I had another screening appointment in late January 2025 and got invited to this screening that started on the 19th of February, finished it on the 5th of March and got the first payment on the 6th. Thank you FluCamp, I will most definitely be going again sometime soon.

Pros and cons
Pros
- Being able to do one of the screenings in Manchester was handy as I’m Northern based
- Staff were mostly friendly, polite and considerate.
- Room had a large window, was clean and had Smart TV and PS5, en-suite shower and snacks on tap.
- Food was quite varied and of a good standard.
- The process for each day was provided in advance and at very similar times so you could adapt.
- decent compensation for the quarantine.
Cons
- Second screening was London, a long way to go for approx 90 minutes of tests.
- provided expenses didn’t cover costs for second screening which ate into the compensation for my time.
- Only found out 7 days before the quarantine that I had been accepted, which doesn’t give a fair amount of time to organise personal things.
- No compensation for travel is provided for quarantine which puts people outside of London at a financial disadvantage.
- start time was 8-10am meaning in order to avoid potential public transport delays when travelling over 250 miles I had to pay for a hotel the night before, close to the location in Canary Wharf. Flucamp refused to cover the costs when I approached them, despite their policy being that quarantine compensation includes ‘reasonable’ travel expenses. I deemed these unreasonable.
- no finish time is provided either meaning you can’t book travel in advance so are at risk of very expensive train tickets. I got lucky but you could get caught out.
- No parking so you have to rely on public transport and again this comes out of your own pocket and pricing can be volatile.
- room are small so if you’re claustrophobic you may struggle.
- if you’re a light sleeper then you may struggle. The staff lights outside your door window go out around midnight and back on at 6am and some of the staff talk loudly so you get reduced sleep.
- beds are single, hospital beds so take some getting used to.

I spent almost 2 weeks at the Canary wharf site. All staff was very helpful and friendly. Room was great. Food choice was great however it was not calorie controlled. Its important to me as i am struggling with extra weight. Apart from that i would definately recommend to whoever is thinking about taking part of the trial.

Thank You - FluCamp
Thank you to all (nurses, doctors, operation staff, and kitchen staff) for making my stay at Flucamp as smoothly as possible.
I will always remember that you made me smile every-time you entered the room with your suites/helmets, as by the way, you were looking like “BLUE MINIONS” or “inside astronauts/aliens suites” wanted to gather my blood. I still have some blood left with it now but I hope you achieve what you are looking for in your jobs/research/prospective future.
I am glad that I participated in one of the Flucamp clinical trials and I would highly recommend it to any others prospective volunteers. My review is based on my experience as I did a clinical trial to a different research company six years ago. There is a huge difference between the both in many aspects. Flucamp exceed more than what I was expecting from a research clinical trial.
The first screening was very fast regarding the procedures and it was never been delayed, I literally finished it in less than five minutes (Fact). It just blood sample to see if you will be preliminary suitable to any of the clinical trials. This due to the nature of the majority trials dealing with viruses. Your immune system must be checked of the suitability to specific trials.
I did the second screening two months after the first one and finished it in approximately two hours without any delays or waiting at the reception desk at all. The second screening is full health check including everything in your health history to ensure that your health condition will not be negatively impacted by the viruses injection. This is normal procedure to any clinical trial at any research facility as the doctors / researcher want to ensure validity of the research results and data which expected from health volunteers without external unexpected factors.
The Flucamp Quarantine facility at Canary Wharf is spotless without any negative points at all. I was very lucky, The room had a perfect panorama view to Canary Wharf as photo attached below (The view alone is priceless). The room is en-suite with its own bathroom. The room had TV and PlayStation. It was well cleaned and kept in prefect condition as the site is still new there with very new equipment and facilities. I stayed in 5 stars hotels before, if it was in my hand, I would give the facility’ rooms five star hotel room and especially the room service too.
The staff went above and beyond my expectations, and I am including all the staff who I dealt with from doctors, nurses, operation team, screening staff, kitchen staff and admissions staff during my initial screening, second screening, and the trail quarantine itself. The staff were very helpful and considerate, all of them come always with a smile on their face trying to do their jobs and making us comfortable as much as they can.
Regarding the meals at Flucamp Quarantine facility at Canary Wharf, there is a kitchen and staff preparing fresh meals everyday. The volunteers can order the food via App and there are several options to select from it of whatever you like (Chicken, Vegetarian, Vegan,..). I would like to add my sincere compliments to the chef and all the kitchen staff who prepared this food. Thank you for all your hard work and the delicious food that you prepared which kept me well fed. In addition, the rescue supplies of the snacks which they provided during all my stay; were more than enough. Thanks to all the staff member who explained and bring all of this to me.
The financial compensation is more than enough from my point of view for staying few days and doing noting. Normally, you will got the flu every year and got nothing in-return but with Flucamp, you will got the flu with extra cash (well compensated).
In regards of the trial itself,I can’t disclose any of it as NDA signed before starting the trail and I can’t disclose any details of it,let me say just enjoy the few days before the virus injection and the last few days too.
Thank you for all your hard work and hope you all the best.

Superb experience in every capacity
Great quarantine stay (TV, window view of Canary Wharf, PS5, en-suite, food delivered to door).
The wifi was superb. Kettle and lots of (decaf) coffee and tea. Couldn't recommend more and very good money.

Highly Recommend - Great Staff, Food and Views of London
I had a fantastic experience during my two-week stay at FluCamp. The staff were incredibly friendly, always to happy to answer my questions and kept me well-informed throughout the trial. Their professionalism and warmth made the stay comfortable and stress-free. The catering was excellent, with a great variety of tasty meals that exceeded my expectations. My room was comfortable, and I was lucky to have a great view of London, which made the experience even more enjoyable. Overall, I felt well cared for, and I would highly recommend FluCamp to anyone considering taking part in any future trials.

Great Experience
Flu Camp had been something I was considering for a while and now that I have completed the experience I can say without a doubt, that any reservations I had previously have been completely dispelled. The accomodation has everything you could need, was clean, spacious, and I was lucky enough to have a great view. The food was above the standard I had expected and the options were broad and well chosen. All staff were friendly, knowledgeable, and more than happy to match the energy you gave. If you were busy with work, they'd be respectful, and if you wanted a chat and to pass the time they were more than happy to do so. The compensation for the amount of time you spend there is more than adequte in my opinion and payments are rapid. Start to finish,it was a great experience!

Worth it for the view
Having participated in perhaps eight or nine trials over the last decade in a variety of facilities and with different companies, I have to say my experience at Flu Camp in Canary Wharf was easily the most comfortable I have experienced, from both physical and mental health perspectives – despite it being a 16-night stay. Food was top notch, room was ace (individual rooms due to the testing of an illness rather than simply a drug, as in most trials) and it flew by. The view from the huge window over South East London from the 25th-floor rooms is spectacular, and boosted my stay from palatable to actively enjoyable. Be warned though: some of the rooms on the building’s interior do not have a window! – a risk that is realistically the only reason I can’t give it five stars. That said, Flu Camp/hVIVO do seem to put a lot of effort into improving volunteer experience which does show, and maybe they’ll offer the option of added compensation for those with no window, in future. Screening process long but worth mentioning they now have a second screening hub in Manchester, too, so realistically it is worth the effort.

Unprofessional and Disrespectful Process – A Complete Gamble
I am writing to express my deep dissatisfaction with the handling of my clinical trial application, which has been entirely disorganised, unprofessional, and lacking any semblance of a logical or structured process.
After waiting an entire year following my initial rejection due to minor health reasons, I was suddenly deemed suitable under the same conditions. This inconsistency highlights a complete lack of clear guidelines or standards. I then attended two screenings, during which I was informed that I was deemed suitable for participation and was simply waiting for confirmation of a trial placement. Despite these assurances, I was kept in limbo for months, believing that a trial opportunity was forthcoming.
Only a week ago, I was informed that a place was being held for me, pending feedback from physicians. Yet today, I received contradictory information that there is no place available. This stark inconsistency not only demonstrates the chaotic nature of your process but also reflects a lack of respect for participants’ time and commitments.
Participants such as myself invest significant time, effort, and financial resources to attend screenings, yet there appears to be no structured system in place to ensure we are treated with dignity or professionalism. While I could understand being declined for genuine health or suitability reasons, wasting over a year of my time only to reach a dead end is entirely unacceptable.
The most egregious failure is in your communication—or lack thereof. Despite my repeated attempts to seek clarity and updates, I was informed just two days before the trial date that there was no place for me. Such late notice is inconsiderate and unprofessional. Information of this importance should have been communicated far earlier, allowing participants to make alternative arrangements.
This process feels less like a structured system and more like a gamble. Whilst some participants may ultimately have a positive experience, the journey to get there is unnecessarily chaotic and deeply frustrating. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this process to anyone.
Although the trial itself may be well-conducted, the manner in which participants are handled leading up to it is appalling. For those of us who rearrange our schedules and incur expenses in good faith, this treatment is unacceptable and reflects poorly on the organisation.

Shameful overbooking practice
I was booked for a 10.30am assessment, following a lengthy telephone interview and 2 follow up call.
On arrival at the centre (at 10.35) I was told that the quota for that session had been met and no further applicants would be allowed in?!?
Nowhere in their communication it was explained that it was a 'first come-first served' arrangement, and that caused no little inconvenience to people (like me) who had travelled for over 1 hour to attend.
In the 15 minutes I waited for a proper explanation the reception room quickly filled with angry volunteers in my same situation; with the receptionists trying to explain that they had to do it in case somebody didn't turn up in order to be absolutely sure the assessment room was filled to the max?!?
By the time I left (10.50) the assessment had not started yet, and the only solution proposed was to rescheduled the assessment for the next session in the afternoon.
I left quite disgusted by the lack of consideration, and I sincerely hope this nonchalant approach doesn't apply to the actual medical procedures - but in my opinion if an organization doesn't care in the small (and easy to solve things) it will keep not caring even in other more important situations

Second trial completed and still recommend
This is the second time I have completed a trial with Flucamp. The first one I completed was several years ago but I was looking forward to my second time. I knew the location had changed and I can confirm it is a much better building, the room overall was clean tidy and has everything you need. The food is a massive improvement and having your own kettle in your room was perfect. There is food to cater for everyone, the baked potatoes were a personal favourite and an option everyday for lunch! There is also a supply of snacks that you can get refilled often so you never go hungry!
Unfortunately both studies I have completed I didn't have a window room, which is sad but they do prepare you for this possibility prior to the quarantine period so I didn't mind much.
Obviously, the money is a bonus, especially when in your account in just a few days after each appointment (depending on your payment breakdown). Overall, the stay is very relaxing, as long as you are happy with your own company. I always have a list of programmes I aim to get through, bring lots of books and activities you can keep yourself busy with, if you get bored of watching tv. I also bring face masks and hair masks just to have a little bit of self care (although I would check what you are allowed as you are not allowed all). I did bring a vitamin C cleanser which I wasn't allowed but they kept it safe until after my quarantine and made sure to return it on my departure day.
I recommend doing this and have told plenty of friends to give it a go! If you work from home, you can work whilst you are there, obviously every trial is slightly different in terms of when the medical staff need to see you but they are always considerate and try to disrupt you as little as possible.

Very bad company
Very bad experience from the start. I attended the building in Whitechapel but my booking for screening was changed twice with little notice and the staff was horrible. They tried to change studies and offered me an Amazon voucher, but I wasn't happy with the new study because of the dates so I declined and they didn't like this much. When I was in screening, I had to wait like two hours to be seen and nobody even apologised. I then overheard the guy who booked me arguing loudly with one of the doctors because of not enrolling a patient apparently. When I was admitted to the Unit later on, things did not get any better. There were a lot of different people running up and down the corridors and more shouting from a lady who seemed to be a boss. Later on, they asked me to change rooms to one with no windows because there was another volunteer who wanted my room, and the lady who injected the virus in my nose could barely speak English. The payment for the study was very good and I managed to make it to the end, but I cannot recommend this place to anybody. I never felt safe or being cared, and some staff were very unpolite. There are many other places with better conditions and professionals, so look around first.

Friendly Staff, Good Food, and Overall Positive Experience
I had a really good experience at Flu Camp. The staff were incredibly polite and kind, always checking in and making sure I was comfortable. The food was actually better than I expected especially the jacket potato and burgers. I did end up in a room without a window but they made it clear from the start that room allocation was random, so I was ready for that. The only small things I would have liked are a full length mirror in the room and a hair dryer. I did bring my own hairdryer but wasn’t allowed to use it. Other than that, everything else was spot on

Highly recommended
What a brilliant experience from start to finish. I undertook one of the longer stays of 16 days and unfortunately had no window but you know what...I'd do it again in a heartbeat.
The rooms are clean and contain everything you need for the duration of your stay (kettle, en-suite, ps5, TV, study desk, storage) and fresh towels and bedding can be delivered when requested.
All of the staff were on hand day and night and always turned up with a smile and respectful demeanor.
From answering questions, ensuring that I had everything I needed to be as comfortable as possible or just for a little chat they really made the stay a wonderful experience.
The food was excellent and was varied day to day. There are also many options for vegan/vegetarian meals which suited me well.
As long as you're okay with being by yourself for most of the time then I can't recommend it enough. Give it a shot!

Start to finish a wonderful process
Start to finish a wonderful process, I was worried about the quarantine originally as you never know what to expect but after recently finishing my stay I was very happy with making the decision to attend. The rooms are clean and spacious, I was lucky to get a room with a view but then for some reason I had to swap to one without a view, this is the only negative as the view was mega and defo eased the passing of time.
The food ordering process is really easy and the food itself is very good, the meals was fresh and big portions, the highlights being the breakfast options, the peanut butter overnight oats and the sausage egg cheese muffin was class, I never got bored of the food and the tea time always always changed everynight and there was plenty of options to choose from for lunch, chicken pesto cheese wraps being the standout. Shoutout Anna who was lovely and always helped with any food enquires.
Staff was very clear and very nice and always made sure you knew what the to expect throughout the day. I was lucky enough to not feel any symptoms so apart from 2 sleepless nights for when I had to have my bloods taken hourly, it was pretty much like a holiday. Really would recommend, as for the money it’s a no brainer, I was attending one of the longer trials but it never really felt to draining and I never got that bored.
Would defo recommend if you are currently on the fence, cash was paid within a week following my release from the trial.
I will be looking to attend a trial again in the future.

Most restful holiday ever
Most restful holiday ever!
Just sat by my large floor to ceiling windows up high away from everyone with my favourite books for a couple of weeks.
Yea I got poked and prodded from time to time, and had a bit of a sniffle, but my boss also prods me mentally and physically and I get illnesses from inhaling strangers projectile sneezes on the tram, so really it wasn't a bother.
I was lucky enough to have windows, some don't although they do have windows looking out onto the corridor and they could see my windows from their room if you angled yourself right. So it's not like you're in solitary confinement. Although you are confined and on your own.
Food was great, staff are very friendly and chatty, and then you get big sterlings sent to your bank account after your done.
If you need a break from the world and enjoy being on your own, then I highly recommend.
I genuinely had a great time and I'm looking forward to applying again next year.
