I purchased the paid in full option version of the software in 2024. The program recently began to malfunction. Was unable to get any support. Then i was notified that an upgrade was available. When I clicked on the link to upgrade I was given 2 options to purchase paid in full version (again, I had already purchased the paid in full option in 2024) or purchase an annual subscription.
The software actually if it works is pretty good, but because you are going to have problems sooner or later I would avoid purchasing because of what you are likely to go through sometime down the road.

They changed the policy for the maintenance support starting from 2025 because, even if you have it, you can upgrade to the new version free.

They don't even offer a discount because they want you to pay the full license (again) at more than €250!!

Avoid!

This software isn't user friendly at all. In order to talk to anyone you need to use the online chat and even then, the staff can't answer a direct question. Just avoid. There are plenty of better options in the market.

I had to change my credit card because they keep charging me even If I had disabled autorenewal. I contacted their customer support and they do not answer. STAY AWAY FROM THIS SCAM!

I've been using it for years and I love this PDF software. I face many problems all the time with the way others make their PDFs and Foxit has always been able to compensate and solve problems well that other people cause. Anything you can think of they can do and not just kind of do it enough to work, they do it well. I just wish they had a perpetual license for mobile cause I would definitely buy it.

Horrible software. can’t use on most operating systems. It’s really an abomination - just go to Adobe. Also make sure you’re not signed up for renewing subscriptions and make sure you cancel your trials even if you call and speak with someone. they say they shut off the recurring payments but go to your dashboard and make sure. it’s hard getting there too, but it’s worth it because they will not give you a refund if they charge you despite the fact that your company is paying for a different subscription!

TERRIBLE onboarding journey. Needed pdf editor for new laptop, am very familiar with Acrobat. What went wrong? Unable to actually get in and use it. Signed up - set user name and password - downloaded desktop app for windows. logged in - rehjected, told to contact admin. Decided to reset, clear history, ask for new password. Same happened again - and it kept redicting to online. ChatPGT suggested finding the relevant exe which i di - magic! I could see the dashboard - covered by a login box. Entered the details with 10000% certainty both were correct. yes, you guessed it. login rejected again. did this several times. What a waste of 17 minutes. if it took this long to not even let me log in, can't imagine what it's like to use. a shame, as it does look good. but its portal is so skewed towards pushing a paid subscription it ruins what could be a simple journey. I've used and downloaded literally hundreds of apps and software, from Snaig, fireshot, acrobat to many others. this was the WORST "onboarding" journey I've ever experienced.

This morning my paid for version says it is no longer licensed, my license code no longer works, the chat bot is useless, I cannot email them and I refuse to fill out their ridiculous contact form (that you can only use if you have an order number).

I called them and got a recorded message saying my version isn't supported, buy a new one..... Unbelievable it was working perfectly last week.

I would talk with someone about this but Foxit are now impossible to talk to unless you have hours to spare, which I don't. You have just lost our companies business. AVOID!!! another once good company has become useless.

What a joke, I have had a licensed version of Foxit pdf editor for years and as a company we have spent thousands with Foxit, time to look for an alternative company that will support their customers.

Do not invest your money in this company or product. The interface is not user friendly on mobile, and the signature process is arduous. I had an even worst experience with their customer service trying to rectify this. They absolutely refuse to provide refunds so it's a sunk cost. It's been a while since I've been this disappointed in a product.

Scam it is. Cannot unsubscribe.

This company scams it's users. Once you subscribe there is no way to unsubscribe and they keep charging you monthly despite you contacting their support.

Dark UX pattern and straight up scam of a company. Frustrating to deal with, do not give them your credit card information. These guys are utter trash.

Paid for Foxit. Their updates don't work. You have to uninstall and reinstall when you do, there is no way to enter in your activation code. They've stolen your money. Unfortunately there's no alternative to Adobe (which you'll have to install anyway to use macros) Foxit is a freaking joke, if you compare it to other companies like LibreOffice.

Just renewed subscription, paid and after few days I am not able to use it.
The license process is not working, after renew the software is blocked.
Very complicate to get the fox it run without issues.

I did a trial, requested a refund, and never got it within the 15-day window they suggested. Then I was charged again for a subscription renewal while waiting for the first refund, which was odd. I added that refund request to the mix.

Overall, it took two and a half months to get my trial and erroneous renewal refunded. Thank you to Kiara for her clear communication and action on this. It took a long time, but I got the impression that there were some organizational deficiencies at play here, and she kept it positive and tried to help as best she could.

The product itself wasn't for me, but I'd recommend seriously vetting the company before any commitments, as it can really take a while to see results on seemingly simple things.

My company switched to Foxit and I HATE IT! The pdf commands are different, the graphics portion suck, and I can't for the life of me figure out how to do a hard dash. Used to be "shift, control, -", but that shrinks the font size. I want real pdf back!!!!!

I had purchased Foxit Phantom PDF in 2019. It was quite expensive at the time for what it did. But it turned out to be an indispensable piece of software. I never upgraded it. It did everything I needed it to do without any issues. Never crashed. I used it to convert PDF docs back to Excel or MS Word.

I then decided to upgrade my PC from Windows 10 Pro to Windows 11 Pro. This was basically a new computer. But I needed to remove the licence from the old system and move it over to the new one. I could not load the old version into Windows 11. I noticed that much of Foxit software is now sold as SaaS (Software as a Service) rather than permanent licence. I really wanted to reuse what I had. As a long shot I contacted Foxit Support and explained my dilemma and provided evidence of my licence. They responded overnight with a link to download the software, and removed the licence from my Windows 10 installation. I followed the link and downloaded and installed the software on my new Windows 11 PC without any issues. Excellent service, even though I was out of warranty. Thank you Foxit.com

a bug where it keeps asking to print every time I open, tried to trouble shoot the issue using their site, but they aren't very helpful. Just downloaded different software and now the issue is gone.

For anyone interested just swapped to SlimPDF 2.0 and it's great, it just works.

The product was great but the licencing was not. I signed up under the trial which allowed me to use one licence across multiple devices (Windows, Mac and mobile) which went great. I then paid the subscription and discovered that you can only use the license on one PC. Unbelievable! What software company these days allows a user licence on only 1 PC? I have a desktop and a laptop so would need 2 licenses. Anyway, I contacted support and after 'some' time they responded. They were good and understanding and were a bit surprised at the limitation. They processed my refund without any problems (after 14 days). Very disappointing to go through the process of selecting a PDF editor and then told you can only use it on one PC. I'm now using UPDF on multiple devices and find it similar and cheaper.

ZERO support. I paid twice, because my trial version ran out, and I was in a panic to fix a document. TWO DAYS have passed, and they don't answer the phone, have no live support, and don't answer emails.

'Free Trial' was a scam! entered my payment details to try the product for 7 days - it wasnt for me so I cancelled within a couple of hours of downloading it. They took my money anyway. I contacted them numerous times to politely request my money back with proof of my cancellation and got nowhere. eventually had to go through paypal to get them to get my refund which they duly did for me. Thank goodness I used Paypal to pay! Terrible treatment by a company that couldnt care less.
