The boxes are filled with the items shops struggle to sell. For £40 the value is terrible. And when you try cancel they continue to try get to out of cancellation, even once they confirmed cancellation they still tried charging me for a box I didn't want, plus sent multiple emails to me about trying to charge me again. Honestly just stay away. Such a headache

A complete con, avoid at all cost. Boxes are a complete waste of money and just a load of rubbish they put together. Please please don’t subscribe to this as you will have difficulty cancelling your subscription.

The contents of the boxes are just tat that nobody else wants, I would say max value is £5 in each, and £2 of that is from the sweets they include.

I thought maybe it would get better but the last crate they are promoting heavily "GB theme" was the worst so far.

The previous one "Monaco theme" had nothing to do with Monaco and was also just tat that I'll chuck or put in my car boot sale pile

I've been trying to cancel my subscription for two weeks and just keep getting a message to "check back later" so I've had to get my bank to put a stop on transactions to them.

DO NOT sign up unless you want some unwanted crap and pay ridiculous amounts for it.

Absolute scam artists

I enjoyed DriveCrate much more when the boxes were around the £20–25 price range, but at the current ~£35 cost, most boxes simply don’t feel worth the money anymore.

Occasionally, you get a genuinely strong box with something like an official team cap that would already cost close to the subscription price on its own, plus some extra fun items. The problem is that most months feel far more “trinket-heavy,” with things like socks, posters, bottle openers, pin badges, tea towels and sweets making up most of the box.

Some of those smaller items are genuinely cool — I especially liked some of the metal posters and bottle openers — but not enough to consistently justify a £35 monthly subscription. The socks are also a nice idea, but I’ve found most of mine developed holes fairly quickly compared to normal socks.

The value also feels very inconsistent between themes and boxes. For example, one themed month might include a desirable item like a Red Bull cap. In contrast, another team-themed box might include only an A4 poster or a reused water bottle design that had appeared a few years earlier. I’ve also seen people receiving different items within the same box, which makes the value feel even more uneven depending on what you happen to get.

My biggest issue, however, was the cancellation process. The website appeared to allow cancellation, but the option never actually became available because it constantly claimed the next month’s box was already being prepared.

When I emailed to cancel, I specifically stated that I did not want pauses or retention offers — I simply wanted the subscription cancelled. Despite that, I still received generic responses offering pauses and discounts before the cancellation was finally processed after repeated requests.

One thing I also noticed after my experience was the contrast between the overwhelmingly positive reviews shown on the DriveCrate website and the much more negative experiences discussed on independent review platforms, where many people seem to raise similar concerns about inconsistent value and difficulty cancelling subscriptions.

I was bought a subscription as a gift because I like F1.
Basically you get things like a fridge magnet (x2), a pair of socks (which had nothing to do with F1), horrible foreign sweets, post it notes, a small poster that looks like an advert for GTA5 and so on. Only decent thing was a Ferrari baseball cap (which costs less if you bought it direct from F1 Store etc).

This was over 3 months as trying to cancel is a nightmare. Emails back and forward until they tell you they take your money for the next months box before they've sent out the current month box, then tell you you have to cancel at least a week before they take payment. So they always get an extra month out of you as most will try cancel (as we did) straight after receiving a box of rubbish, but you've already paid for the next waste of money. I'm not sure how the score is more than 1 when everyone seems to be giving 1 star reviews.

This brand is really very poor quality.

I previously bought a gift subscription for me dad which he loved. I had a query and the customer services response was really quick and helpful.
I then subscribed ongoing for myself, yet when I’ve emailed to ask to cancel my subscription after a few boxes I’ve not had a response for 23 days. I can’t cancel online because anytime I go it’s either “still processing renewals” or boxes have shipped. I’ve sent another email but have no other way of getting in contact with them. Another box has just shipped and I no longer want the subscription.

Lures you in with a cheap "first month" price, then you cant cancel your subscription. Website doesn't work properly. Cant cancel because next payment is scheduled, then cant cancel because box on the way. Not responding to emails and still trying to take money out of my account.
