For all of us who have gotten scammed out of our money because the card was “declined” or “fraudulent” — here’s my success story that I hope with help!
Backstory: 2 $50 cards declined at Target. I called customer service at mygiftcard (the number on the back of the card) and they said funds would go back after 7-10 days. Weeks later, nothing. Called back. They said they would issue e-gift card replacements. Still got nothing. Kept calling back, kept being told "oh it will take 24-48 hours" and "we need a picture of you and your ID" over and over. After a week of this, my (very assertive) husband stepped in and did this - here's the playbook.
Make sure you have a case number from previous calls.
1. When on the phone with customer service, give the case number, and INSIST they provide you the e-gift card replacement on this call. And if they cannot, ask that they transfer you to a supervisor.
2. If they say they can't transfer you, demand that they do.
Say that you'll wait, they can put you on hold, whatever - but the situation is unacceptable and you have to be put through to a supervisor.
3. Once on the phone with a "supervisor" or someone willing to help, insist you receive the replacements while on the phone. They will say "the best we can do is 4 hours" or "it takes 1-2 hours". IT DOES NOT. At this point, my husband said "ok fine, I have 2 hours - I'll stay on the phone until it arrives in my inbox and we can confirm it works" - this seemed to be a key phrase.
After this and a few 2 minute holds and a few more times insisting that the cards be sent while on the phone with this representative, the actually sent the dang replacement cards. I couldn't believe it.
4. Stay on the phone while you register the new cards. We immediately bought 2 $50 Amazon cards while still on the line to confirm the funds would go through.
I sincerely hope this helps anyone who is dealing with this can get your money back too. Best of luck!

Unable to register card. Tried to find out details over phone, but that went nowhere. The website on the back of the card no longer exists. No even sure I was using correct site. This company should be shut down.

I went to check the balance and register a pre-paid gift card using the link provided on the back of the card, within an hour or so my whole balance was drained and used for some vendor I've never heard of before. I tried calling the support number provided on the back and kept getting an automated service that would put me on hold and I never got a call back once it inevitably hung up on me.

The company did contact me and investigated my claim. I did get a response that they found that my card has been used fraudulently and they have since sent out a replacement card with a new balance. The email says it should take 3 days to a week for the card to arrive via mail. It's been a week so far and have not received it yet, however if I do receive a new card and am able to use the balance I will be happy to revise my review and leave a positive rating for the resolution of my problem!

I bought a gift card at the grocery store for my son. He registered the card and then tried to use it. He was told there isn't any money on the card. Total BS. I am being told that the card has been blocked. Every phone call, I have called over 4 times, is more frustrating than the last one. I sent an email with all the information they asked me for. It still wasn't enough. They said they needed to talk to my son in order to unblock the funds. AGAIN, TOTAL BS!!! They talked to my son, asked him a couple of questions, then told me they don't have the information that I emailed them. They are making me jump through hoops for NOTHING! DO NOT EVER BUY A GIFT CARD FROM THESE SCAMMERS.
UPDATE: They asked for more information, then said they are working on resolving this. STILL HAVEN'T HEARD ANYTHING FROM ANYONE.

Absolute scam. My daughter received a gift card from these fraudulent thieves. They refused to activate it online and told me on their phone system that I don't know my correct zip code. Absolute rubbish, never trust them with a single cent.

I had received a $250 Visa gift card on 12/25/25, and registration the following day through their website went smoothly. However, after my first purchase, I began to notice small issues popping up over the past 2 weeks; such as being unable to login to the site to view my funds, despite the correct card number being entered. The last time I had checked yesterday, I had $27; and was waiting on a $38 refund (which I should have received promptly, as it was a pending charge, not a true charge! Just another sign of suspicious activity from this scammy company. Even now, I do not have my refund). When I went to check my card balance today, the remaining $27 had been drained by a supposed PayPal issuer. I have NEVER connected this card to any PayPal accounts. When I called support, the security code was nearly impossible to pass (despite being entered correctly) and they would not accept my card details, despite them all being entered correctly. There is no human managing support, just an automated system. PLEASE protect your money and avoid these fraudulent cards.

Fraud charges on the gift cards, their system must have been hacked! I got two $50 gift cards as a Christmas gift and activated and used it the same day. Both cards worked once and after that they don't work anymore even though i know they still have balance. I looked online to review the charges and there are Google Apps and Games worth $1600+ charges. I tried calling the numbers, no one is answering. The website, there is an option to "Report" or Dispute which i did. And then i saw how many people are experiencing the same thing. I'm surprised has not done anything to update their security system. Looks like this has been happening for years!

Used card for online purchase, card never left house. Refunded for item back to card. Went to use card again, was declined even tho there was 90.05 on card as per the website. I tried to used the card at work, was declined for $1.25 the following my purchase a gambling website called Fanduelcasprimary instantly stole the 90.00 as per the gift card receipt online at their site. There is no customer service at all. No resolution to lost funds. Do not use these cards. My guess is that the Company that stole my money is a shell for the credit card gift card company so they can steal the funds if you go thru a credit card machine at a store. The really bad thing is once I was declined for the 1.25 sale they authorized a on line sale with no card present for the remaining 90.00. NEVER EVER USE any of these cards MCgift.giftcardmall.com is a fraud grifter who takes your money. Lesson learned.

Tried to activate a gift card that my friend gave me and the website doesn't work then I called the number and whoever answer didn't do a thing ! ,the only thing he said was your card has 0 balance and it was used on September !!!!!. Received a $100 mc gift card for Christmas. Went to register it for the first time and someone had already registered it and used the entire balance. No recourse available. The number is a little automated system with no access to a live representative. No help on the website, it basically tells you if you weren't the one to register it, f you. They just let Internet thieves take your money, because they get theirs regardless. Just give cash as presents.

Even after registration and waiting 3 days the card was declined by Amazon as was the similar card my daughter got as a gift.
When I checked the balance the money is there. It shows so attempt at a transaction at all and the "contact us" is not a link. Your only Choices are a phone call during business hours or postal mail.
It shouldn't be this hard to use. I have asked the giver to not give these anymore.
Update: trust pilot is saying I need to give this company my phone number or my review will be flagged as not genuine. I do not give my phone number. So apparently I can't give an honest review without giving my personal info. What the heck?

I was gifted a $200 virtual visa card for Christmas went to use it today on Amazon and it was declined. Went on the website to look up balance and low and behold there were 2 transactions made from Macy's that I did not make as I only did the Amazon. I'm a bit pissed to say the least and so is the person that gifted it to me for Christmas. What a scam!

I purchased $100 gift card. When my son tried to register it online, it indicated the funds had already been spent on (12/21/2025 with BETMGM) and the balance was zero. I spent over an hour trying to resolve it via phone and on-line but couldn’t even get to a person. Whoever hijacked the card created an account that we can’t access.

I saw a number posted by someone identifying themselves as a company representative on this platform. I used that number...nothing. Avoid giftcardmall.com at all cost! They took my money then prevent the recipient of the card from registering it for use via thier joke of a website with zero customer service! Beware they subtract a monthly service fee to bleed the account dry which you cannot access. I see a class action lawsuit in giftcardmall.com's near future!

I received a $200 GiftCard Mall card as a work bonus, and within five minutes of activating it, the entire balance was gone. I did not use the card or share the details with anyone.
I reported the issue immediately. It has now been 30 days, and I have received no resolution, no replacement, and no meaningful update. Customer service has been slow and unhelpful, offering no clear explanation or timeline.
This appears to be either fraud or a serious system failure, yet GiftCard Mall has shown no urgency in resolving it. For a company that handles prepaid cards, this level of security and customer support is unacceptable.
I would not recommend GiftCard Mall, especially for high-value cards. If something goes wrong, you may be left without your money and without answers.
