Good company, just a tad pricey

Had very little trouble with Gigahost, customer service also very good. I moved hosting because this is very expensive (about $1,500 per year, versus my new hosting at $540 per year), and because the servers are NOT USA based, I have difficulties with some vendors whose servers bounce out my emails.

Ryddig og svært prisgunstig for norske domener

Etter å ha prøvd mange norske og internasjonale selskap, må jeg si at Gigahost.no leverer en svært god pris på .no-domener. Jeg har nylig flyttet alle mine norske domener hit, og opplevelsen har vært utelukkende positiv.

In this case, the service you used was purchased through a third-party reseller, not directly from Gigahost. Because of this, both the commercial agreement and the support responsibility lie with that reseller. We are legally and contractually bound to handle communication, billing, and service continuity through our direct customer, and we’re unfortunately not able to bypass that relationship or disclose details related to it.

We also want to clarify that decisions like service termination are never taken lightly. When services are provided through a reseller, any extensions, migrations, or corrective actions must be coordinated and resolved by that reseller. While we fully understand how this outcome affects downstream customers, our ability to intervene directly is limited by confidentiality and contractual obligations.

We regret that this left you feeling unheard at a very difficult moment. That was never our intention, and we’re sorry for the impact this situation had on your business.

Gigahost is an absolute zero

Gigahost is an absolute zero. Never — and I mean never — deal with these people. Both in business and in morals, they’ve hit rock bottom.
Here’s what happened: I worked with them through a reseller and rented a server. Then one unlucky day, the servers got shut down — all of them, including mine. According to the reseller, the company just cut him off completely. But that’s not even the main problem. The server was down, my business was collapsing, and I reached out to them directly — asking for help, offering to work with them without the reseller, or at least to let me rescue my data. And what did I get in reply?
1. If you have purchased services through a third party or a reseller, you need to reach out to them for support.
2. No, we are not able to assist unfortunately.
That’s it. My whole business was falling apart — and not just mine — and they sent a cold copy-paste answer as if nothing happened. This company is pure, 100% unreliability and irresponsibility, mixed with moral decay.
If you want to lose your business — rent a server from Gigahost.

Meget flott! Høflig og profesjonell kundeservice. De glemte å nevne for meg at jeg måtte sørge for at serveren min ble levert helt til døra deres, men gjorde et unntak og hentet den på postkontoret likevel. Jeg har et godt inntrykk og store forhåpninger om at samarbeidet med dem fremover blir problemfritt, og mest sannsynlig vil denne forventningen oppfylles med glans. 10/10. Anbefales.

I was charged 800 Dollars for…

I was charged 800 Dollars for "bandwidth usage" out of nowhere, and support just said it was my responsability to monitor bandwidth usage. These are shady billing practices and should not have been deducted from my card.

Fantastisk hosting i Norge – Anbefales!

Jeg leier to dedikerte servere hos Gigahost.no og kunne ikke vært mer fornøyd. Jeg startet med å hoste spillservere, og har lenge hatt et ønske om å ha serverne fysisk plassert i Norge for lavere ping og bedre stabilitet. Etter å ha testet flere løsninger i utlandet, bestemte jeg meg for å gå for Gigahost – og det har vært en utrolig god opplevelse.

Serverne er raske, stabile og alltid tilgjengelige. Nettverket er solid, og jeg har merket stor forskjell både i respons og oppetid. Supporten er også veldig hjelpsom og rask til å svare dersom det skulle være noe.

Det føles trygt å vite at serverne står i Norge, med god fysisk sikkerhet og datasikkerhet i fokus. Jeg bruker dem nå ikke bare til spillservere, men også til andre prosjekter – og ytelsen leverer hver gang.

Hvis du vurderer norsk hosting og ønsker dedikert kraft og god oppfølging, anbefaler jeg Gigahost.no på det varmeste.

Hosting concerns regarding non-consensual adult content

My experience with Gigahost involves the persistent hosting of adult content published without the consent of the individuals concerned. This content is hosted on websites using their services through a third-party (Byteflare). Despite submitting GDPR-compliant removal requests, I received no cooperation they blocked me. Legal action has been initiated. This raises concerns about the company's approach to data protection and compliance with European privacy laws.

We take abuse reports and data protection regulations seriously. However, this individual is not a client of Gigahost, and no valid or properly submitted abuse reports have been received from them. Instead, they repeatedly used unofficial and inappropriate channels to communicate, which led to their being blocked.

Gigahost operates in this case as a transit provider, meaning we facilitate network connectivity for other entities. We are not the hosting provider, nor are we legally responsible for the content hosted by third-party networks. Under both European and international law, the legal responsibility for hosted content lies with the actual hosting provider, not with upstream transit providers.

Any allegations of non-consensual content must be directed to the hosting provider or domain owner in question. Sending abuse reports to unrelated infrastructure providers does not lead to resolution and undermines the correct escalation process.

We remain fully compliant with GDPR and applicable privacy regulations and encourage all individuals to use the appropriate legal channels when raising such concerns.

No support and bad DMCA policy

Someone sent a few fake DMCA complaints to Cloudflare within a 24-hour period. This was enough to get my server suspended without warning. Support seems to be nonexistent as I can't get a response from them. Thankfully I had backups and was able to move to a different server. I'd also like to add that everything on my website is legal
