If I had two words to describe a stellar teacher, I would say one name: Vinay Narang. When I first met Vinay, I was overwhelmed with the GMAT journey ahead of me. Vinay helped me get centered - we were able to focus deeply on creating a strong, structured path forward. He is understanding, supportive, and truly cares about the students that he works with. It was clear from the first session we had together that he wanted to see me succeed; having a mentor and teacher that truly believes in you is refreshing and game-changing. Vinay was patient, caring, and very understanding throughout our time together. I had worked with a previous tutor and, after taking the GMAT three times, I realized I had hit a wall with my score. I was landing at the very low end of my target range and just could not get over the hump.

Before my fourth and final attempt, I worked with Vinay. He not only helped me break through that barrier, he helped me exceed my expectations in a way I honestly did not think was possible. Working with Vinay was a great experience. In addition to having an extreme mastery of the content, being great to work with, and being a great instructor, Vinay had other qualities that I felt set him far above the rest! The first thing that comes to mind was his preparedness. Each session Vinay would come extremely prepared, with packets he created himself + an incredibly detailed review of my last practice test to set the trajectory of our session. Second, he was always accessible and very responsive to any random questions you might have throughout the week, and would talk on the phone even outside of paid hours! Finally, his understanding of the test is so strong that he and I worked to completely shift the way I think in order to improve my scores on this exam. He's not just a master of the content, but a master of the strategies that can boost your scores immensely! If your GMAT scores aren't where you were hoping they'd be, you will probably benefit greatly by having Vinay to teach you the content and the strategy to succeed on this exam. Overall, it was excellent, and I highly recommend it!

After spending several months and multiple test attempts on my own, I started working with Vinay from GMAT Genius. I only wish I could have started with him sooner! In terms of material, Vinay knows the test inside and out. He has a deep understanding of the exam, how it ticks, and how to use that knowledge to your advantage. After trying several other resources and private tutors, I can wholeheartedly say that the methods and techniques Vinay uses were incredibly unique and I do not think they exist anywhere else on the internet. They are highly effective. As an instructor, I appreciated Vinay’s no nonsense, to the point, and direct approach. He was always very flexible and understanding to other events going on. In the end, I was able to exceed my target score by a good margin.

I worked with Vinay mostly on the Quant section, but it’s clear his expertise extends to all three sections. Of course, it was not easy, and you still need to put in a lot of work, but I can’t recommend working with Vinay enough if you’re serious about getting your score up. I do not think that there is another tutor around who can make as big of a difference to your end results.

I initially prepared for the GMAT on my own and took the test twice, but couldn’t break past a score of 595. Feeling frustrated and in need of a new approach, especially since the deadline for my scholarship application was near, I came across Vinay. After our first meeting, I decided to have 6 sessions with him (with more focus on Quant and Data Insights). I took the test again in just 3 weeks after my previous attempt. This time I scored 615. My only regret is not finding him sooner.

Vinay was incredibly patient, even when I was slow to grasp certain concepts. He showed passion about teaching and commitment to helping me. His explanations were clear and memorable because he broke down each concept from the ground up, helping me truly understand the root of every problem. What stood out most to me was how he trained me to think more logically, which saved me a lot of time on each question. He also taught me efficient strategies that gave me the confidence to nail the questions within my ability and make the most educated guesses on tougher ones. Thanks to Vinay, I not only improved my score in just 3 weeks but also gained a more structured approach to problem solving.

I'm now preparing my journey for London Business School (with a sizable amount of scholarship granted). I highly recommend Vinay to anyone who wants a smarter and more efficient way to tackle the GMAT.

I reached out to Vinay after having taken the GRE twice by studying independently. Vinay is extremely thorough with the test material- and arms his students with strategies and insights across the syllabus. He is also a great listener- he picked up from exactly where I needed help. What really stood out to me is the personal care that goes into working with Vinay- even after we finished our sessions, he constantly followed up with me to check on my progress with the test. I began studying for the GMAT in 2023 and initially sought help from several other tutors/prep programs. However, despite the time and effort I was putting in, things just weren’t clicking. It wasn’t until I started working with Vinay in 2024 that everything began to fall into place. Despite working with three other tutors, no one came close to Vinay. He is truly in a league of his own and simply knows the GMAT inside and out.

What set Vinay apart to me is the level of personalization he brought to every session. Unlike the other tutors I worked with, who stuck to their preferred/standard method of instruction, Vinay adapted his way of teaching to my learning style. In my case, he quickly identified that my fundamental understanding of certain core concepts was weak and, rather than gloss over this and stick to a set curriculum, he adapted and took the time to drill down and properly build my foundation. That kind of tailored attention made all the difference as Vinay showed me exactly the obstacles that were holding me back and how to overcome them, instead of passively taking me through different GMAT topics.

Beyond the fundamentals, Vinay’s clarity in explaining difficult topics, combined with his patience and genuine commitment, enabled me to grasp high-level concepts and tackle difficult questions with ease. Unlike other tutors, who simply went through the material tested by the GMAT, Vinay actively provided me with frameworks for almost all question types. This enabled me to work the best way to answer a question within seconds of seeing the stem. He also had for the vast majority of question types a “backdoor”. These savvy shortcuts significantly cut down solving time and were ESSENTIAL to scoring high.

Beyond our regular sessions, Vinay has been an incredible mentor. He genuinely cares about my progress and success - something that’s rare to find. Throughout the course, he was consistently supportive, often staying past our scheduled time to ensure that I truly understood the material and even sometimes scheduling sessions during holidays when my schedule demanded it. He was also always open to answering questions over email long after the course had ended when I was mainly reviewing our recorded classes. That level of continued investment and patience kept me motivated and focused.

Another GMAT Genius differentiator was the online platform. The ability to revisit recorded sessions was one of the most valuable parts of the experience - something I wasn’t expecting and certainly didn’t get from any other tutor. The recordings allowed me to reinforce what I learned at my own pace and solidify/revisit difficult concepts over time.

With Vinay, I went from a diagnostic test score of 435 to a final test score of 665. On the two sections I focused the most on with Vinay, Verbal and Quant, I made only two mistakes in Verbal (earned 99th % score) and three mistakes in Quant.

While self-studying, it's tough to know if you're actually practicing skills that will translate to the exam. I started with Vinay after 1.5 years of self study through target test prep and a disappointing official gmat score.
