I recently contacted HandyTax.io as I was concerned about the recent changes to Crypto in the UK by HMRC. There is more scrutiny being applied for disclosure and they are ramping up their efforts with regards to opening tax investigations. Whilst I do not condone tax avoidance, this was something that I wanted to get right as Crypto is a very complex subject, especially where tax is concerned.

I spoke with Yana who was so supportive and helped me along the way. I have used the Koinly software before but would always get errors and is would not map correctly.

I requested the last four tax years to be reviewed. Yana managed to turn it around within a day. The price was very reasonable and I managed to get a New Year discount applied on top of that. Initially I was concerned with what the price would be as a lot of quotes I received were in the thousands (a lot of accountants are taking advantage), so was over the moon with the quote Handytax.io provided.

I will definately be using these guys every year from here on in. Thank you again to Handytax.io I can sleep well at night!

I was struggling to find someone who could correctly calculate my taxes with a high number of transactions on Deribit - I tried with both Koinly and Blockpit - neither solution was remotely correct, even paying for custom / expert support they were unable to compute my taxes.

I also received some extremely high quotes for a custom solution.

They were professional and efficient, I'm really not sure how I would have unravelled the mess that was my transactions without Yana's help. She was also extremely patient with my sometimes taking weeks to respond to requests and questions. Om top of all of this, their services were very affordable.

All round a great experience and I would highly recommend them to anyone who isn't 100% confident about preparing their crypto taxes

If you are having any problems with Koinly, specifically on calculated capital gains and wallet balances, I’d really recommend Karim.

I traded on 12 different exchanges (including defunct FTX) over a period of 7 years, and needed to go back to resolve an old tax liability. Since I had traded using bot, there were a total of 42,000 transactions. It was a real nightmare and didn't know how to report the profits to HMRC (UK tax authority).

I passed on all CSV files of my wallets to Karin. He helped me to setup API connections with the exchanges. From there, Karin did the rest:

- Turns out that syncing your API and uploading CSV’s at the same time can cause duplicate transactions, resulting in your capital gains being much higher. Karin was able to fix the initial mess I had done and ensure the data input was accurate.

- I also had loads of issues with incorrect balances, where Koinly could not trace when the purchase was made, thus assuming I got the coins for free, and increasing my capital gains. Karim resolved this.

- Finally, there were fiat balances that I could see on Koinly but not on the exchanges, which Karim explained was one of the quirks with Koinly.

All of the above took 6 hours to resolve, at very competitive rates, I could have spent USD 2,000 - USD 4,000 doing it with a UK accountant.

Karim also took the time to have a call and explain the corrections he made and the UK tax rules applied (bed and breakfast, etc). He also helped me choose the right accountant who could then file my taxes.

Karim is an honest, hard-working and trustworthy individual. He is dedicated and gets the job done. I would highly recommend him for anyone looking to prepare their taxes on Koinly or resolve any Koinly-related issues.
