Established in the 1870s, our creamery has a proud history of producing award-winning cheeses, including the renowned Blue Stilton. Christmas cheeses

Just received my 'cheeses for xmas'.
One of the cheeses was use by 31.11.2025 sand the other was use by 29.08.2025.
Disgusted, I've used them before but never again.

Great Company!

I ordered a gift hamper for a friend’s special birthday and it was a hit. Beautifully (and safely) packed, amazing variety, and the cheese tasted incredible. Delivery was super quick too, couldn’t be happier!

So happy you’ve brought back the Traditional Derby, it’s always been a favourite of mine. Really creamy and full of flavour, exactly how it should be!!

Hartington's Stilton is the best!

Hartington's Stilton is the best!! I found them through their PDO status and have not shopped for Stilton elsewhere since. I love trying all their cheeses, but the Stilton will always be my favourite. Perfect on a cheeseboard, with crackers, or just on its own. Honestly, if you love cheese, this is the place to go. Everything they make is top quality and always delicious, you can almost taste the care that goes into it😍

It's OK but was a little sore on the…

It's OK but was a little sore on the old backend afterwards perhaps the spicy variety of cheese i had cannot remember it's name.
May try it again at some point have been to Doctor Isla Vanel and she says it's not IBS.

Order Never Arrived - Don't Bother Wasting Your Time

Order Never Arrived and would never answer the phone or emails sent. Ended up having to go through the bank to get my money back. Terrible experience.

I should have read the reviews

I should have read the reviews, seems like I'm not the only one who didn't get what they paid for, some obviously didn't get anything.
I emailed about my order, enquiring where the Stilton was and why had I got the wrong smaller cheeses, I didn't get an answer until I chased them up yesterday, no answer, just a 33% refund, which I guess is more than a lot of people got but didn't even cover the price I paid for the Stilton.
My final email to them said,
"Well I know what I would do, and I ship mail order worldwide. The very least would be to send the 2 cheeses that you failed to supply.
I'll leave it there but you must do what you've gotta do. Customer care and service seem very poor."
I won't be back.

I ordered a gift for Christmas

I ordered a gift for Christmas. It has never arrived. I have emailed several times and rung every day since
Christmas. It is always answerphone. There seems to be no way of contacting them for a refund or explanation. Totally unsatisfactory

Total scam

Total scam. I can’t believe it. I depended upon a sage derby cheese for a really lovely Delia Smith vegetarian Christmas dinner. I ordered in the 8th of December. I ticked to deliver after the 16th. Fortunately I paid with PayPal and they have refunded my money. Who lives near them? Can you perhaps ask them why they are tainting your beautiful area with their lack of customer service and lack of refunds. This reputation is not what independent farmers need right now.

I too placed an order after seeing this…

Response received on 9th with an apology, cheeses arrived with confirmation they hadn't been sat around, discount given.

I too placed an order after seeing this company on BBC East Midlands news, along with a couple of other small businesses saying how important it was that they had a good Christmas order to survive. Made the order on the 17th Dec, got an update on 30th Dec with a tracking number, Royal mail haven't received the package yet. Do I really want to eat cheeses that haven't been in a fridge for 5 days now. Why haven't the company put their hands up to apologise if they have taken on too much. Maybe the BBC would like to update their pre Christmas, support local small businesses article, to say how well, or not, the company did over Christmas. I have emailed but no response yet like the rest of their customers on here. To be fair I wasn't expecting a delivery to arrive before Christmas due to their cut off point, just don't tell me it has been dispatched if it hasn't.

Took money and never despatched goods.

Have shopped here many times successfully in the past, but this Christmas they failed to despatch my order, then gave me a tracking number but never passed the parcel to Royal Mail. They didn't respond to emails or phone calls, so I have raised a dispute with American Express.

Terrible

Terrible . I paid for 4 cheese packs in November and received nothing even though I was notified of postage on 17th Dec. We phoned a number of times and emailed frequently too- no reply!

I am awaiting a full refund. This company can not be trusted please be warned.

Shameful customer service and unfulfilled order

Will I ever learn to read reviews before ordering.
Yes again, an unscrupulous business takes our money without any intention of fulfilling their obligations.
No answers and no delivery.
I’ll put a claim in with PayPal but that’s not really the point, it it?
Shame on you all.

The good news is, PayPal have refunded my money.
The bad news is rouge traders are able to take our money without any obligation to fulfil their commitment.

I’m really pleased I didn’t get my order as I’d hate to support such an ugly company.

Disappointed- no response!

Trying to get a response from Hartington Creamery is impossible! I’ve tried 3 different numbers, numerous emails, social media messages etc and just no response for a week.

I placed an order in November for a Christmas present, due to be delivered w/c 16th Dec, Royal Mail haven’t even received it! I’ve asked if I can go collect but again, no response. Incredibly disappointed as my family have been eating this cheese for generations, reputation has been ruined, as well as £100 worth of Christmas presents! 23rd dec and I’m now stuck.

Taken money but no order and no respone

Same as other reviews I order in November for delivery w/b 16th December got a tracking number but Royal Mail haven’t received them yet. Emailed Telephoned no response I have reported it to my credit card company
