I can strongly recomend Higher Himalaya if you want to enjoy the culture and nature of Ladakh. Chamba and his coworkers are fantastic people and they will make your trip unforgetable. I was there feb to march -26 for the Snowleopard and had several sighting of the magical creature. During the acclimatization in Leh we spend time with a guid for the culture of Leh. After 2 days we travel around to diffrent homestays, something I recomend strongly. You will meet very nice people and get to see their way of living. We had one car and a driver plus a very skilled spotter at our service the hole time, and they where very flexibel abot the plans. Most importan is that they have a huge network of spotters so if someone have a sighting of the Snowleopard or Lynx you will here about it and can go there.

Higher Himalaya are great choice to and I strongly recommend to book tour from them. I booked for 3 days.
Mr. Chamba & my friend driver Stanzen are polite, humble and informative. I took ride to Leh-Nubra-Pangong-Leh. Took time to explore sites, monastery etc.
Stanzen helped me to book a property.

I booked a tour with Higher Himalaya Travel Company, to Nubra Valley and Pangong Lake. They are very well organised, all accommodation arranged with a wonderful driver. Reasonable rates. Can highly recommend.

Higher Himalaya, led by Chamba, is a perfect tour operator for a snow leopard expedition in Ladakh, and I’m perfectly convinced that it was the best choice I could possibly make.

First, his honesty makes everything so easy. I paid for a full tour that Chamba setup for me, and let him set the details, which worked like a charm. He chose hotel in Leh, and it was excellent. He selected the guide and spotter, who was remarkable. He fixed home stays in Rumbak and Shan that were perfect. He helped me with domestic flights as I had some issues booking them from Sweden. He provided a domestic SIM card to use in Ladakh. He even gave me a wonderful surprise, a delicious birthday cake in remote Rumbak that he sent up from Leh with some friend’s tour.

So, with Himalayan Expedition, you’re in the best hands to get a successful snow leopard expedition to a good price. I think you can basically tell how many days you’ve got, ask for an itinerary proposal and let Chamba take care of all the details. Of course, it’s hard to know exactly what you want, and flexibility is needed, but that’s no problem. If you want to alter something, like me when I after six days in Rumbak changed my mind about staying there all the time and instead wanted to visit Shan for the final two nights, he made it work. He sent a driver and fixed a new home stay. So it can be flexible.

Ease of contact and the willingness to make everything perfect for me was such a great asset. With WhatsApp it was easy to get in touch. Setting a plan worked great, and updating it on the spot worked perfectly well too.

In terms of sighting, you never know. Some days it may snow, others it may be a bit too cloudy along the mountains, and then there may be crystal clear views. In twelve days, of which four were in Leh, I got to see a snow leopard five of those days. Sometimes very distant, sometimes in decent range, often just being lazy, sometimes walking along cliffs, one time hunting blue sheep down a snowy hill. Moreover, I saw wolves and lynx, and of course blue sheep, golden eagles, lammergeiers and partridges. On top of that the nature is spectacular!

So, to anyone who is up for the hardships and dream about seeing snow leopards in an amazing landscape, I absolutely recommend letting Higher Himalaya organise it for you. You’ll get an amazing return for the investment in money and time.

This was the second time I've organised a hike through Higher Himalaya. The 5-day hike and the guide (Tonyout) were both fantastic! We had a really lovely time; it was well organised; and excellent value.

I used the company to organize 2 trips to Lamayouro and Pangong Lake with overnight stay. The prices were very competitive, the car provided was very good as were our driver's skills (Sajad) and the overnight accommodation provided. Great attention to details and customers service. I will definitely use them again for a next trip to Ladakh.

Used this company for all our travel needs when staying in leh city. They didn’t falter.

I booked two trips with Higher Himalaya : 1) Indus Valley + Lamayuru en 2) Nubra Valley + Pangong + Tsomoriri lakes. The car was an A+ model, and was driven by Sayad. Roads outside Leh are very bad and especially Shayok road - it is important to have a very skilled driver given the many stones and rivers to cross. I was very pleased by the services offered through Higher Himalaya - I would definitely recommend !

Excellent services provided in exploring the place.

We were so happy to have found this agency while walking in Leh market.Excellent arrangement,very helpful team with good quality of service.The package was beyond I ever expected,all the places were covered within time, they offered beautiful cottage in Pangog lake.there was good coordination with car driver and hotel Manager, thanks to Mr Chamba Wangdus Sir didn't face any kind of difficulty while our journey.

We absolutely LOVED our trek through Higher Himalayas and with our guide m Sonam! He was so kind, knowledgable and a great guide. We felt very taken care of and he was so flexible and adapted to walk to suit our pace and how much we wanted to push ourselves. We used Higher Himalaya for every part of our trip aside from our first few nights accommodation in Leh. They organised our trip to the lake and to Nubia Valley and it was terrific. The accommodation recommendations were fine though I would take the time to work out whether all of the places are quite right for you as we stayed in two places which were a bit ropey. HH also organised our journey from Leh to Manali and again I think this was done with a high level of consciousness.

The 9 days trek was an amazing experience. I felt safe and confortable every step of the way as a solo female traveller. Thank you !
