Very pleased with the quality of material used to make this costume. Much better than expected.

The color is beautiful and it looks nice, but it is a thin cotton that should be $35. It is going to be comfortable to wear in the heat which will be nice. The feel of the cotton is soft and smooth. Size feels true to size. The under garment I got has a nice shape to the sleeves, It feels a bit large for the size. If you are worried that the undergarment won't be large enough for you, don't worry. Plenty of room. The overdress, you might want to order larger if you are between sizes.

I chose this site beacouse everything I wanted this site said was in stock. The day after I paid for my order I was told an item was on back order and could not be sent for weeks. So I was forced to order from another site to get that peace and had to pay for two different shipping to get what I needed in time for an event.

I've had several opportunities to purchase items from HCR. Each order was handled professionally, web ordering was seamless and merchandise arrived in a timely manner. Prices are very competitive or somewhat less expensive for certain same items shown at other sites. 100% reliable.

If you truly look back at the Medieval age, the clothing was made of either cotton or wool at that time. The majority of "Renaissance Era" sites are offering "Period" clothing made of rayon or cotton/rayon mix. When I first received a natural cotton shirt size XXL, it was two sizes too small, felt closer to a Large/XL over an XXL. As natural cotton, the minute it was washed it would have shrunk at least another two sizes. Rayon or polyester did not exist at that time. Didn't realize it was so hard to find accurate Medieval attire without having to make it yourself.

I purchased a WWI German helmet to use as a prop for the cover of a book I'm writing, titled, "Donkeys Leading Lions", which is about my uncle's experiences with the 91st Infantry Division while participating in the Muese-Argone and 4th Ypres offenses with the American Expeditionary Forces. The helmet is authentic and very well constructed. It will be a shame to put a bullet hole through it, but necessary, and I'm sure my uncle would approve.
