Not what was advertised — misled by “private/dedicated” claims, with serious security concerns
I signed up for the VPS-LITESPEED plan from Hostera Webhosting, attracted by promises of “versatile hosting for all,” with allocated resources, private and dedicated hosting, unlimited websites, and Litespeed Enterprise. The reality fell far short of those claims.
What I expected
A true VPS with isolated resources (CPU, memory, disk) dedicated to my account.
Private, dedicated hosting rather than a shared environment.
The ability to host multiple sites with predictable performance under a single, secure setup.
Strong security measures and properly protected administration interfaces.
What I actually got
It’s not a dedicated VPS. It’s a standard shared Plesk server running on CloudLinux, with hundreds of websites sharing the same IP. The advertised idea of isolated resources and true dedication to my account isn’t reflected in the service.
Resource isolation is unclear or not truly implemented. The “allocated resources” claim didn’t translate into the level of independence I expected from a private/dedicated plan.
Security concerns: I discovered publicly accessible admin panels (Plesk and Litespeed) exposed over an unsecured port (port 80). This is a serious risk and something that should be addressed before new customers sign up.
The website and marketing materials could be clearer about what “private/dedicated” means in practice, and what actually gets allocated to a customer in this plan.
The refund and support experience
On the positive side, the provider honored their “satisfied or refunded” guarantee and issued a refund. It’s good to see a company back up its policy in practice.
If you’re considering this vendor, I’d still recommend asking for current, explicit documentation on virtualization type, resource isolation, IP sharing, and security practices before purchase.
What to ask or verify before buying
Confirm the exact virtualization type (KVM/OpenVZ/CloudLinux-based container, etc.) and whether resources are truly isolated per customer.
Ask how many sites can run per IP and whether multiple customers share the same IP in the plan.
Request a copy of the current product sheet and terms that specify what “private” and “dedicated” mean in this context.
Inquire about security practices: admin portal exposure, port restrictions, two-factor authentication, and recommendations for securing Plesk/Litespeed.
If possible, request a trial period or a live demonstration of the management panel and performance benchmarks.
Bottom line
If you need truly private or dedicated VPS resources with strict isolation and strong security by design, this plan may not meet those expectations. For me, the gap between marketing promises and on-platform reality was too large. The refund was appreciated, but the experience raises important questions about what “private/dedicated” means in this offering.
TL;DR
advertised as private/dedicated with allocated resources, but it’s actually a shared Plesk environment with hundreds of sites on one IP and exposed admin interfaces. Security concerns are real. Refund process was smooth, but I wouldn’t rely on this plan if you need genuine VPS isolation.
Yes, I run Webnestify, but that doesn’t change the facts in this review as a customer, unfortunately. Just be honest with your customers, nothing else.
And I don’t consider shared hosting companies as competitors.
Also give you one more star for stick to refund guarantee policy.
