Few months ago, I was looking for a Windows Host that is based in Europe. I received a tip from my colleague and he advised me to check on hostforlife.eu. Initially, I was skeptical and this is due to their unbelievable low-cost hosting with abundant of features.

I sent them a few inquiries and particularly, I informed them that I am looking for a host that supports ASP.NET Core, SQL Server and SQL Server Reporting Service. Their support team is very responsive and I immediately received a nod that they can support my site and database.

I am happy to recommend their service to my business colleague too

Great .NET hosting. Their technical support level is exceptional and they do not mind in helping me in sorting out issue on my site. From price-point-of-view, their hosting price is value for money. Highly Recommended!

Scam company. Charge for cancelled service !

The hosting packages for HostForLife Windows hosting contain quite a bit of false and/or misleading advertising:
1. Database Space: The advertised total database space may be accurate, but in reality they divide the total space by the number of databases available on the plan and do not allow a single database to exceed this number. So, a plan with 4gb of MySQL space for 10 MySQL databases actually means that any single MySQL database may not exceed 400mb. The same applies to MSSQL databases.
2. Whilst they advertise “MySQL” database hosting, they actually use MariaDB, which may have compatibility issues with MySQL in the latest releases.
3. Whilst you may be able to receive emails perfectly fine most of the time, good luck with successful delivery of your emails sent. Out if the 4 different cloud and shared servers that I have used, only one was not blacklisted by Spamhaus or Microsoft. The answer from HostForLife support is simply “Sign up to our Business Email Plan”, which costs more than the hosting plan at best.
4. “Unlimited SSD Disk Space” is actually 5gb.
5. “Unlimited Bandwidth” is actually 10gb per month.
6. Whilst they advertise the latest versions of MSSQL, MySQL and .NET, in reality you may have to transfer to a different server to actually be on that version at your own cost, so beware to check before doing too much work on your site.
7. They advertise rates for a 3 month subscription, but if you actually sign up/renew, the minimum term offered is 6 months.

In addition, these are issues which are a downside to hosting with HostForLife:
1. Email storage is extremely limited (200mb for all accounts on the cheapest plan to 1000mb on the most expensive plan).
2. Watch out for hidden fees for signing up or changing plans.
3. Support staff are not able to help with anything but the simplest of issues (like the inability to answer the question on the correct connection string for the MariaDB database when your database is actually MySQL).
4. The cost of Website Domain Names and Privacy protection is extremely high.
5. There is no option for a month-to-month hosting plan, so you have to commit to 6 months or more from the outset.
6. When cancelling, you have to give a minimum of 10 days notice before your plan renews and they will terminate your hosting as soon as they process your request as per the terms of the agreement, leaving you out of pocket for up to 10 days of hosting.

On the plus side:
1. HostForLife prices are somewhat reasonable if you commit to a 3 year contract.
2. The use of cPanel makes managing your website simple.
3. HostForLife offers hosting on European based servers.

PS after response from HostForLife:
1. You refer to my disk usage in the present tense. I stopped hosting on your platform in September of 2022, almost 2 years ago.
2. If I look at my hosting plan on SmarterASP whom I moved to, my total current disk space usage is 825mb. I hardly consider this "Gigantic" or abusive.
3. You never suspended my service, I decided to move to a different host due to all of the points raised in my review.

If you need proof of any of this, please contact me.
I have the receipts, screen grabs, etc. to prove any of the points that I have made.

If you are going to respond to a review, might I suggest that you do so accurately and timely?

The fact that it took you 18 months to respond simply serves to reinforce my point about your customer service!

They keep finding new and new issues for which you have to pay extra money to be fixed.

Simple set up and effective at hosting your website. No frills, straightforward pricing, a great option if you are starting out and looking to just understand how to build and run a website without having to rack up big costs. The company always offers discounts when you first sign up so you will be able to get your website up and running very quickly. The hosting was also reliable, no issues with the site going down or loading speeds.

Great value for money

Excellent customer support. Fast, efficient, knowledgeable and helpful. Uses current versions of Asp.net, you can host Classic ASP and also newest Asp.net core. They offer free SSL certificate and automatic renewals. Offers free emails with all shared hosting plans. It is very good deal!!

Fully satisfied with their services!

I just had an extremely pleasant experience with support. The tech was friendly and kind, and also patient with me. He pointed me to online documentation. I had already read the online documentation, but he explained it to me and answered my questions. I now feel confident that I can tackle this problem from here on out. He also mentioned a couple times that if I had any more issues to come back and ask. I felt very well heard and very well received. Wonderful! Good job!

Excellent service

I had an issue changing my DNS records and reached out for help at Hostforlife.eu. Once I found the chat area, I was able to get immediate assistance and they helped me resolve the issue. They gave me easy step-by-step instructions and were very pleasant to converse with. Great service, happy customer!

Support is FANTASTIC

Two things: 1. The speed of the Hostforlife.eu platform is FAST. From the moment we migrated to Hostforlife.eu our site load time improved by 80 - 120% each time we tested it. But, a super fast host by itself isn't good enough because there will always be need for support. The Hostforlife.eu support is FANTASTIC. Though my needs for support have been primarily routine (all related to setup, migration, etc.) their support has always been there and been excellent and on point. And, they even follow up after the fact.

Overall the best hosting provider I know for the price and amazing customer service you get :). I really appreciated the way they always solved any problems thoroughly and quickly, never an issue with anything with them. High-quality support and service.

Hostforlife.eu have the best customer service I have ever interacted with of ANY company. Switching to use them as my webhost has been so easy, and any bumps were quickly and efficiently taken care of by the support team – someone is always readily available and problems are just fixed without any painful back-and-forth. Add to this the fact that my website is now clearly faster than before – I can’t recommend Hostforlife.eu enough!

Lots of hidden traps to cut money!!

Initial offers are very attractive but when you will renew any subscription or buy any mandatory services like SSL, they will start charging you a lot.

I had a very bad experience with this hosting. There was no trial period, so I had to pay 20 EUR for first 3 month. Fine, not a big deal. So I paid and wait few hours for email with hosting details. Then I started to setup my website on their hosting, and by the some reason PUT and DELETE HTTP methods didn't worked. I spent few hours to understand what I'm doing wrong. Then I wrote to support team, and it turns out that PUT and DELETE methods are disabled on web server! And I have to pay extra 15 EUR for setup this functionality on web server by support team! And there is no human readable text on their web site about this "extra" feature. So after such bad customer experience I found other hosting and decided to get my 20 EUR back. After my request to return my money, support team said that they can enable HTTP methods for free. So they just tried to scam 15 EUR, and when I refuse to pay and asked about withdraw my 20 EUR they agree to enable HTTP methods. Very bad customer experience. So I continued ask for withdraw my 20 EUR. On their web site I can see text like "30 Days Money Back Guarantee". And it turns out, that in their terms of use (which usually nobody read) said that there is non refundable 15 EUR for their "setup". So I managed to return only 5 EUR. If you don't want to pay extra money for basic web server functionality, I'm strongly don't recommend this hosting.

I have recently switched to Hostforlife for hosting all my websites and my clients' websites. I've been extremely satisfied with the experience. Support is AMAZING, always very quick and friendly. I haven't had any problems with my servers or websites, whereas on my previous host I had a terrible experience. Also, the plans are very affordable, especially for what you're getting in terms of performance and the support as well. I would definitely recommend Hostforlife to anyone looking for hosting. I love their Plesk control panel too, Very easy to use and it looks really cool as well. I hope and think that this will be my last hosting provider. Maybe I will try their dedicated server option in the future.

The worse provider I ever met! Try to avoid it! There are so many fake recommends on the internet about their high level evaluation.

Beware of their Shared Windows hosting. Looks cheap, but there are reasons why it is. Lot's of hidden limitations, software used is not what's told in the specification, until you argue with them etc. I've spent days of work to get my page up and working that shouldn't have been necessary. If I'd known what I'd get from host for life I'd have chosen another supplier.

hostforlife.eu ! Never go to this host!

It's a scam.

First scam:
I paid for a 12 month HFL Economic Plan x 8 EUR (= 96 EUR)
They charge me 132 EUR! (i have a company and i dont have to paid VAT)

Then, for this hosting: they announce
"Unlimited Bandwidth"

It is false, it's false ! another scam:
As soon as you reach a threshold defined at the will of the admin, your site is blocked without warning!

On their site, take a good look, they advertise this plan is UNLIMITED in data!

So why without warning, they stop my activity!

It's scandalous !
