Hutchinson Publishers UK Reviews 

My whole experience of using Hutchinson’s was marred by having to complain about multiple silly errors and having my novel’s incomplete cover abandoned by them. I then had to complete the cover myself.
I originally paid for Hutchinson’s top Silver Marketing plan, which then consisted of zero effective marketing. After complaints I was then offered an extra two free months publicity for a Facebook professional marketing campaign. I agreed and the extra campaign started promptly. The first month was then only publicised in the USA despite me being a UK based author with a solely UK based novel – a completely wasted opportunity with zero sales.
I complained yet again and one advert was placed on the UK part of Facebook at the beginning of the second month. I then had a better response with the equivalent of nine sales, including pages read on the Amazon app – and that was it, the end of my marketing campaign!
To sum up; do not use Hutchinsons if you are based outside the United States, as they appear at first, to be a UK company, and then when you sign up and pay for the contract you find out your novel is mainly dealt with by people in the USA. They are completely biased toward treating the book as an American product and not the country you live in. Be especially careful if you go for the Silver Marketing package – in my experience it’s a waste of money. I ought to be given a full refund for this element in particular.

I have been in contact with several publishers for a new book idea. Having spoken to them today, I decided not to go with them for many reasons. Thank goodness I didn’t as a text thread after making my decision, asking me why I’d decided not to go with them, was utterly unprofessional, confrontational and argumentative. I’m glad I trusted my gut with my decision, as if this is how they talk to potential authors, I’d be worried about where my money was going. They warned me about other scam publishing houses and then when signing off said, I quote: “best of luck with your “trusted publisher.”
Avoid avoid avoid. Perhaps this was a rogue employee, but my goodness, I have never encountered such horrendous correspondence.

Exceptional support from start to finish

As it was my first experience with a book project, I had absolutly no idea about publishing process with Hutchinson Publishers or someone else.

In my mind a publishing company works from 9 to 5 like in the film with the same title and Dolly Parton in the role as working woman. It was late this evening, and I was surprised to have Michael on the line. I was pleasantly surprised too by his kindness and
availability. Hutchinson publishers is a lucky company to have dedicated people doing their best.

Later I could appreciate too, the professionalism of Michael, Sam and the others. All the team was attentive, willing to answer my questions. I had no precise expectations, but they took time to understand, and guide me knowing very well that computers and moblie phones are nigthmares for me. But the process and the communication worked fine.

During the correction of my french version, I saw also the attention given to my manuscript, and the efforts they make to help me with the project.

Based on my experience with Michael, Sam and the team, I will gladly recommande them and the company to anyone who needs their services.

My book arrived yesterday and was absolutely amazing !! . The quality of the books are incredible , !! The print looks clean and classy in both Paperback and Hardback. Far better than I had anticipated. So if you want to Self Publish look no further than Hutchinson Books.

Excellent and Affordable Book Publishing Service

I had a great experience publishing my book through this company. The team was professional, responsive, and guided me through every step of the process. Second Experience – Refund Demand and Fraud Report Pending

This review relates to my ongoing experience seeking a refund from Hutchinson’s Publishers after months of missed deadlines, false assurances, and undelivered contracted services.

Despite repeated requests, they have failed to provide publication confirmation or marketing deliverables. Their “UK-based” claim is misleading — every staff member uses an American accent and they refuse to provide a verifiable UK registration or bank account.

I have now issued a formal refund demand and will be reporting the company to UK Trading Standards for fraudulent misrepresentation if payment is not returned immediately.

Authors should avoid this company at all costs — they are not a legitimate UK publisher.
