Helpful Tutors! I am taking the course strictly online, the tutors I've worked with are always there to help clarify any questions.

Before I started the course, I had a great passion for interior design and decided to take up a course which would help me to gain professional insights into the industry. I decided on IDAI as I feel it provides the best level of certification. I found that the tutors were very helpful throughout the assignments. I found the course very interesting and informative. The biggest positive of the course was that it was delivered online and was very flexible as I could do it in my own time. Even though I found some assignments quite challenging since I was a novice to the industry, I still would highly recommend the course as the standard of the course is very high and the accreditation is highly recognised in Ireland.

The technical training is not sufficient for the lesson requirements.
There is no way to speak to a tutor if there are questions.
There are a handful of 2-minute videos available which barely scratch the surface of the knowledge required to complete an assignment.
The group training sessions are offered monthly, and sometimes not at all.
There is no way of securing additional support if the student needs extra help.
All of this amounts to so much wasted time for the student. It is not reasonable to succeed in this program with no previous experience as they irresponsibly advertise. There is simply not enough training or support and it makes the process extremely painful and frustrating.

Lots of support from tutors when doing the online course.

I started this course in 2019. It is now 2025 and I am on my 20th assignment. It has been a hard slog. I'm not going to lie. Every person that I started this course with pulled out throughout the years, I am the only one left of my group. I have struggled through each assignment on my own. I felt the support had been really lacking. The assignments are very vague and not much guidance was given. I was told they are subjective, This is a diploma course you need to work on your own. You should be independent etc... A few people asked me whether I would recommend the course and I said no.
I am a stubborn person and when I decide to do something I like to see it through and not give up easily. Were the assignments Are difficult. I worked hard and self-taught where it was needed. The classes do not coincide with the assignments as you are giving one class after another where the assignments could take 50 hours which let's face it, who has 50 hours in a week to give to an assignment if you are working full-time and a parent.
I decided to pay the extra to extend the course and I have started it again in September 2024, luckily I had two assignments which I had completed during the summer to submit, which gave me a chance to move on to the next assignment fairly quickly. It is now January 2025 and I am starting assignment 20. I received a new tutor in September which I have to say has had a very positive effect on my outlook. Her name is Catarina and her feedback is always positive and helpful. She is very prompt to reply which I am not used to at all because throughout the years I would have to wait days for an answer to an email and assignments would take weeks. I know the college have updated some of their policies and procedures and it seems to be for the better. My experience since I have returned in September has been positive. Catarina replies quite quickly thank god and her advice is always straight to the point which is what I need. So thank you to her, the new procedure of submitting for feedback and then submitting for grading is working much better. Saying all that I have learned a lot throughout the last 5 years but that's thanks to the hard work I've put into the assignments and research.

Originally, I did not enjoy the course I found you were left alone a lot of the time without help or guidance or due dates. I originally started in person classes and switched to online classes.
I feel the college has undergone some changes recently as there is many new features available to monitor and keep track. The tutors are also much more attentive.
From my personal experience up to this point I would not have recommended this course however if these positive changes keep occurring and are maintained my mind would be changed. As it is a lot of money to not feel completely satisfied in your education.

My experience completing the Higher National Certificate (HNC) so far has been positive and effective.

While the course is a lot more comprehensive and time consuming than I thought. The assignments are thorough, practical and relevant. I’ve already seen benefits in my professional development. The tutors’ quick response with concise guidance to queries makes studying remotely easier.

IDAI and the HNC’s professional reputation is consistent across the industry. From any conversation I’ve had with professional designers as I start to build my industry relationships. It increases my confidence to finish the course as soon as I can and start my new career.

Higher Diploma in Interior Design (Home study)- I have been doing this course for the last 3 months, full time. For the higher diploma there are 14 units to complete, which contains around 33 assignments. The course content is extremely clear and well laid out, and the assignments so far have been really enjoyable and interesting. As part of the course you are given a tutor who is contactable via email for any questions or problems, my tutor Rita is always very helpful and quick to reply, the feedback given after every assignment is always clear and concise. Although I am doing home study I have contact with the other students via WhatsApp and that is a great help. The reason I have given the course 4 not 5 stars is the fact that the units are locked until you have been given a final grade on a unit so you can't move on to the next unit (this wouldn't be a problem if you are doing the course PT), as I am doing the course FT I have found this frustrating but overall I would definitely reccomend the course.

Now, undertaking a B.A. in the same field, I find myself navigating through a more challenging terrain, especially given the online nature of the course at my age, which is beyond 50. Despite encountering difficulties, I'm fortunate to have incredibly supportive tutors who spare no effort in assisting us within the confines of their restrictions. Their dedication is palpable as they continually introduce new changes aimed at maximizing student benefits.

This comprehensive course leaves no stone unturned in covering the myriad facets of interior designing. However, it demands a disciplined approach to meet assignment deadlines. While I find the course enriching, it certainly presents its share of challenges.

Initially filled with apprehension, I sought a reliable avenue to acquire the necessary skills and knowledge to pursue my newfound passion. It was during this quest that I discovered the Online Certificate and Diploma Course in Interior Design, offered by the Interior Design Academy of Ireland.

My journey with the Online Interior Design Course has been nothing short of transformative. From navigating the intricacies of design principles to meaningful connections within the online community, every aspect of the course has contributed to my professional growth. As I reflect on my aspirations, I see this course not only as a means to cultivate my skills as an interior designer but also as a stepping stone towards realising my new dream of becoming an interior architect.

I like studying here, and how tutors help you go through assignments and the feedback that is very useful and detailed. The only thing that I am not satisfied with is the wait for the grade of an assignment. I wish that you hadn't had to wait almost a month for the feedback and also it would be very nice if you could send an assignment before doing the previous one. For example, I did the 6th one, but I couldn't send it cause I had to wait for the 5th feedback. Overall I am glad to study here and I am happy that I have this opportunity.

I really enjoy this course and have learnt a lot from it already. It is great because I can do all my coursework remotely. When doing this course you get a tutor assigned to you so you have constant support, as well as an online forum with other students. I am still working on this course but so far my experience has been very positive.
