First of all, Illinois Movers was hired by the broker (New Start Relocation). Illinois movers hired a subcontractor to do our move. They arrived in a large unmarked moving van covered with graffiti. (VERY UNPROFFESSIONAL) We were originally quoted a price but when they arrived, they increased it by almost double. They didnt bring all the necessary moving materials as quoted so they just haphazardly threw everything in what boxes they had with them and used alot of our boxes and packing material as well. We never got reimbursement for any of it. All our clothing was crammed and thrown into boxes. The few boxes that they did have were designed to hang the clothes in but instead they just threw them in along with other items. They were not careful with our furniture and as a result most of it got dented or scratched. Many other items got broken. They stacked everything up in the large moving van very haphazardly, so our items got smashed and damaged. When it came time to unload at our new home, they scratched some of the flooring by dragging items. They also put some nicks and scrapes in the walls. They had hired some local labor in the area to help unload. We were hoping to get reimbursement for all of the damage done but instead we got a check for $89 which didnt even cover the cost of our large dresser mirror, smashed tool box, broken picture frames, broken glassware, dented refrigerator, damaged flooring, and many many unrepairable dents and scratches in everything else etc. etc. DO NOT USE THIS MOVING COMPANY! They will highly overcharge you, break and damage your items, and not reimburse you for it. They will pay you only $0.60 per lb of damaged items which basically amounts to nothing. If you want more insurance than that, you must pay alot more ahead of time. ITS ALL IN THE SMALL PRINT!
The workers were inexperienced with packing and were careless. Most of them could not speak English so you could not even communicate with them. The lead man spent 1/2 of the day sleeping in the cab of the moving truck. He had driven all night to get to our house so consequently the workers had no leadership and were left alone to figure everything out. As you can tell this was a very frustrating, expensive, and disappointing move. . I would recommend using a more reputable company thats not going to overcharge you at the last minute and have more qualified workers and leadership. We are still trying to recover from the expense and frustrations of this move. WE COULD NOT BE ANY MORE DISPLEASED WITH ILLINOIS MOVERS!

I would never recommend Illinois Movers, Inc. to anyone.

On May 31, I spoke with the company about my move. They assured me they could handle it and told me my belongings would arrive at my new home in about two days. Based on that promise, I paid the required deposit.

When they picked up my belongings, I had to make another payment as agreed, packed up, and drove to my new home expecting everything to arrive shortly afterward.

A week went by, and I hadn’t heard a single word. I called, texted, and emailed repeatedly. Their voicemail was always full, so I couldn’t even leave a message. At that point, I honestly thought I had been scammed.

After two weeks, I finally received an email saying they would deliver my belongings whenever they had enough shipments going near my destination. That was never mentioned when I hired them. I explained that I needed my belongings as soon as possible. Their response was that they would contact me when they were ready and specifically told me not to contact them again.

Another two weeks passed before they emailed saying they might deliver on Monday or Tuesday and would call 24 hours beforehand. Instead, they called Tuesday afternoon and said they would be there in three hours. Since I couldn’t be there on such short notice, I had to ask a neighbor to meet them and let them put everything in my garage.

To make matters worse, several of my belongings arrived heavily damaged. On top of that, the delivery driver was demanding a tip, even though my items were weeks late and damaged. Asking for a tip after providing such poor service was unbelievable.

This entire experience was stressful from start to finish. They made promises they didn’t keep, were nearly impossible to communicate with, provided almost no updates, delivered weeks later than promised, damaged my belongings, and then expected a tip.

Save yourself the frustration and use a different moving company. I truly wish I could give them less than one star.

My experience with Illinois Movers was a complete disaster, and Ryan was the biggest part of the problem. I paid for packing services, trusted this company with my personal belongings, and ended up with damaged items and a stolen authentic Chicago Bears jersey.

Then the movers showed up and blindsided me with a ridiculous $1,000 charge for thirty boxes — because they knew I was relocating out of state and had no choice. That alone was predatory.

But Ryan’s behavior took everything from bad to outrageous. When I reported the theft and damages, he didn’t investigate, didn’t ask questions, didn’t show an ounce of professionalism. Instead, he accused me of lying. He sent me a claim form and then closed the claim before I could even submit it. That’s not a mistake — that’s Ryan deliberately shutting down a customer to avoid accountability.

My furniture sat in their storage for a month, and the condition it arrived in proves exactly how careless and dishonest this company is. Illinois Movers is a mess, but Ryan’s attitude, denial, and refusal to handle a legitimate claim make the entire operation look even worse.

If you value your belongings or your sanity, stay far away from this company — especially from Ryan.

Still waiting on a settlement which I'm confident will never happen. This company screwed me over with the date of the move, significant damage to my furniture and charging me $500.00 at delivery for a "shuttle" charge which was never disclosed during the negotiations. My furniture was put on 4 different trucks from Indiana to Florida, took 2 weeks which was never agreed upon and several thousand dollars worth of damage was done to my furniture due to incorrect packing according to the delivery men. I filed several reports for damages and still have no response after 2 months of trying to get a settlement. This company is terrible and takes no responsibility for anything. Customer service is non existent! NEVER USE ILLINOIS MOVERS!

I recently used the services of IllinoisMoversInc.com for my move, and I must say I'm sincerely impressed!

I was particularly concerned about some antique pieces and a large mirror, but to my relief, everything reached the destination intact.

In conclusion, IllinoisMoversInc.com took the stress out of my moving process. I couldn't have asked for a better experience. The sales process was great, until they get your money. Then it goes downhill from there. The day of the move, I was told my move was going to be $2,000 MORE than the quote. During the transistion, while I was waiting on my shipment, not one person, including my salesman Richard Zubek called me back after I left messages. When my things finally arrived, my tv was smashed and the driver charged me ANOTHER $500 to put together a desk THEY took apart. This move was a nightmare!! I’ve been calling all day to put in a claim for damages, but again NO ANSWER. During the sales process they took every call, now it’s just crickets. Use anyone but Illinois Movers for your next move. This was painful!

They came early - they did everything quick. Super personable super easy to work with. Moved it in light speed - no damages - helped unpacking, asked if we needed anything else, and were very kind and professional throughout the whole process. I only hire this company for moving and recommend them to everyone. 10/10 stars and would hire every single time. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!

I booked a long-distance move with Illinois Movers Inc. under a binding estimate (Job No: R7171028) that included a confirmed pickup window of April 6–7 and delivery between April 18–19. The initial coordination with Randy was smooth — he was polite and helpful.

However, what followed was one of the most disrespectful and unprofessional moving experiences I’ve ever encountered.

On April 6, I was told they would arrive the next morning (April 7). Then on the morning of April 7, I received a call saying “the truck broke down.” Later, they said they would still come on the same day (April 7) — but they only showed up around 7:00 PM, after keeping me waiting all day.

When the crew arrived, one mover rudely claimed I had exceeded my inventory by 100 cubic feet — without measuring anything — and demanded $1,500 more on the spot. When I asked for a breakdown of the charges, he refused and instead called me a “bastard” in front of my wife and walked off without completing the move.

They later tried to cover the situation by falsely stating that I canceled the move, which is completely untrue. I was ready to proceed, but I wasn’t going to tolerate verbal abuse or hidden charges.

They have since processed my refund — but the experience, stress, and disrespect were unacceptable. I’ve attached a photo of the individual who treated us this way so others can be aware.

If you’re considering this company, document everything — emails, call times, inventory, photos. You should not have to go through this kind of treatment during an already stressful life event.

I coordinated with Illinois Movers to move me back into my apartment following a year away. They were able to meet with a friend of mine and get everything back in place at home while I was still away. They were timely and respectful of my items. I will use their services in the future. Can't recommend them enough!

Illinois Movers made my move from Chicago to NYC a piece of cake. They were super communicative and organized, all of my items were safely packed, everything arrived just as it had left, and the workers were friendly and efficient. I will most definitely be hiring them again and highly recommend!

the Illinois Movers could not have been more friendly and intentional in making time and space, asking me what exactly I needed to be moved and giving me different options of ways certain items could be packed if they were not already. They were friendly and clean! They laid down walking mats in my apartment to avoid tracking in any dirt, and we also had a great conversation. I would 10/10 recommend them to anyone!

We hired some bad movers early in the day that messed everything up and Mike and John fixed everything turned the whole day around! I called them Sunday evening last minute and they came through with a smile and amazing work ethic. Highly reliable and highly recommend.

Best moving experience that I've ever had! They were so efficient and so friendly! We had prepared as much as possible but even so we had run out of tape for 1 or 2 boxes, and the movers provided a little extra tape. They even helped me back the truck in for our new home. Seriously, Mike and the crew are awesome!!

Very qualified movers. They Were very communicative, on time, efficient, and very professional. They assembled everything correctly and everything was well protected. I would highly recommend.

Im so pleased! Ramil and his team were AMAZING! It was my first time using movers and I didn’t know what to expect but they were nothing but great. They were fast, tidy and careful with all my belongings! I would highly recommend them!

I can’t say enough good things about Illinois Movers. I posted a review earlier but I want to emphasize how pleasant, hard working and gracious they are. I saw them in action at a storage facility and liked their attitude and work ethic. I sought them out and di’m glad I did.

We had a great experience with Illinois Movers. Alex and his team were very fast and efficient moving our things. We had them unload our PODs, drive it to our new apartment and unload. Everything went great. I would definitely call them again on our next move.

The movers were polite and worked efficiently. Everything was packed properly, and I was happy with how smooth the process was.
