MALICIOUS BUISNESS PRACTICES
I am appalled at this company's malicious business practices. I sought out Instant Hydration because I was pursuing a source of clean, high quality electrolytes. What I found was not only a company that wouldn't let you cancel your subscription without contacting their support but a company that LIES about the ingredients of their product on their website. As seen in the attached photos, the ingredients according to Instant Hydration's website for the "Sea Water" flavor are Salt, Magnesium, Potassium and Calcium. Much to my dismay when I received my electrolytes and checked the ingredients and found SEVERAL ingredients not listed on their website. In addition to the electrolytes I thought I was getting there were also Citric Acid, Lemon/Lime Flavoring, Stevia, Monk Fruit and Natural Coloring.

I ordered a stand alone order.
I was shocked by a shipment a month later and seeing I was enrolled in a subscription I DID NOT enroll in.
I promptly cancelled it and received a confirmation email.
30 days after my cancellation, I noticed a notification of shipment! I was livid.
I log in and see that I’m somehow still showing “30 day subscription”
I click CANCEL subscription (again,)
I get a confirmation email.
I write customer service and they tell me that they understand frustrating to be charged for something you “intended to cancel”. NO. I DID cancel.
Technically I never even signed up.
They claimed they canceled my subscription, but I had just canceled less than 24 hours before that.
They either have a major website glitch or this is purposeful fraud.
I despise the taste and got a headache trying it so I would not recommend it for that reason alone. Essentially stealing and charging us fraudulently is a bigger issue. Some apparently have had to cancel cards or put in bank stops. This is insane!

I purchased four boxes and wished I hadn't. The beverage tastes extremely salty, so much so, I couldn't finish the drink. One packet was used so now I'm in search of any opportunity to return any of this order. Way too salty for me, which is not emphasized and would be a problem for anyone with blood pressure or heart issues.

I ordered a box of instant hydration on 8-4-25. I never signed up for automatic 30 day subscription. I did not like the product and only used one packet for it is too salty. I got an email that they were going to ship another box. I immediately cancelled it. I thought that was done but I got an email 3 weeks later they shipped the product. I emailed them and they said they can't stop this shipped even though it shipped 3 weeks after cancellation. I tried to contact Customer Service but they only have email and they had a standard line. I tried to cancel off my cc but they billed it on 9-3-25 but did not ship it until 9-23-25. This is unbelievable. I can't believe Shawn Johnson could put her name on this product. Horrible.
Bad customer service!!
Bad customer service!!! I cancelled a subscription order and received confirmation that it had been cancelled. Received the item a week later. When I inquired about returning a non opened box I was sent a return shipping label and was told I would be charged $6.94 shipping for returning the product. Ridiculous! They received my return but never processed my refund after 30 days so I had to reach out again. I finally get an email that my refund will be processed, but they also deducted $4.99 it cost to ship to me even though order was confirmed cancelled.

I have enjoyed the packets although you do want to add just the right amount of water for your own preference. The lime was a little bitter, so I mixed it with raspberry and it was very delightful.
When I canceled my subscription, they did it immediately and they also offered a refund of my recent order which I appreciate. The representative who emailed me was Marc and he was doing a great job.

Unacceptable business practice
If you set up any subscription, they automatically upgrade you to some other subscription that is hundreds of dollars worth of product — absolutely unacceptable business practice!
BUYER BEWARE
The ONLY reason I tried Instant Hydration was because of influencer Laura Beverlin’s collab on the Cotton Candy flavor. And to be fair, the flavor is good. But that’s where the positives end.
On July 31, I was charged for a subscription order I never intended to sign up for. I immediately emailed customer service to cancel, and they confirmed in writing that my order was canceled and a refund would be issued. A few days later, the product showed up at my door anyway - and when I asked again about the refund, they told me I had to pay $6.64 in return shipping in order to get my money back.
It’s been over 3 weeks of back-and-forth emails, empty promises, and “checking with a supervisor” with no resolution. Customer support is unresponsive, copy-paste, and completely unhelpful. Meanwhile, on their Instagram they bragged about their company’s “first birthday” and said they were refunding 111 customers — yet they couldn’t even refund me, after admitting my order was canceled. Shady as heck.
The flavor may be good, but I will NEVER purchase from Instant Hydration again. Customer service is terrible, and the way they handle cancellations and refunds feels dishonest. Buyers beware.
Don't trust their return policy
Don't trust their return policy. The company is deceptive about returns. They have a "2-stick" return policy that if you've used more than 2 sticks of product - no returns taken. I purchased the "Variety Pack" which came with 4 flavors. I tried 1 stick from 3 of the 4 flavors and decided this just wasn't for me. I was not a granted a return because I used 3 sticks. I never even tried the 4th flavor. Didn't matter. Unfortunately, this policy made it impossible to fully evaluate the variety pack as it's intended. I will not purchase from this company again.
Bad customer experience
Bad customer experience with my subscription. I canceled right away when I got my “upcoming” email and got a confirmation that it canceled but they sent me a new box anyway saying I missed the shipping by 15 minute. I ended up returning when I received it because they said they couldn’t cancel it and they charged me $7.10 for the shipping back. Not a good look!
Deceptive subscription practices
Deceptive subscription practices. Delayed shipping. Difficult and next to impossible to cancel once you discover your initial purchase to try a new flavor Paloma is really an unwanted ongoing subscription for $55/month. The Paloma flavor has a chemical aftertaste. There is no notice or option of changing flavors. Just billing notices via email.

DON'T BUY! They have started forcing people into autosubscriptions that they dont want and then ghosting when you ask for a refund and confirmationof subscription cancelation. No one will respond to you. Really awful business ethics and ZERO customer support.
Ongoing Return Issues with Two Orders – Still No Full Resolution
I’ve now spent over a month trying to return two orders from Instant Hydration:
Order #351475 – This was my original order. Multiple items arrived wet, dented, and damaged (I’ve provided photos). The order was meant for a group event, and due to the condition and timing, none of the products could be used. I’ve requested to return this order repeatedly, but no return label has been sent.
Order #437458 – This was a replacement order sent without my consent. I clearly stated that I did not want a replacement, only a return/refund. Since it was sent anyway, I dropped it off at USPS on August 1, 2025, and provided proof of return. I am now waiting on the refund.
I’ve contacted them through email, social media, phone, and even previous Trustpilot reviews, yet their response has been slow, fragmented, and confusing. They only sent one return label for the subscription order I never wanted, while completely ignoring the actual damaged order (#351475). The delay has now pushed us past their 50-day return window, which I believe is intentional.
I’ve sent:
Photos of the damaged products
Proof of USPS drop-off for the returned order
Multiple written requests for clarification and refund
Unless this is resolved in full, I will continue escalating through formal consumer protection channels.
To Instant Hydration: please finalize this issue by providing a return label for order #351475 and confirming that both returns will be refunded in full. Your delay tactics and lack of accountability have created unnecessary stress and damaged trust.
It is gross
It is gross. I tried cherry limeade and mango pineapple and they are terrible. They just taste like salt.
Disappointing process and customer service experience
I signed up for a subscription months ago and did the classic move where I forgot about it. Instant Hydration sends zero reminder emails in advance about getting rebilled when the time comes. I reached out to support within 10 minutes of receiving the email requesting for the order to get cancelled and refunded because I didn't like their product's taste and didn't want another order of it. I also recently had my car broken into and don't have the funds to get a $150 order of hydration mix. The support system in general is clunky and has a horrible user experience. Three days later, I still hadn't heard back from support and I get a notification that the order is now shipping. THEN shortly after that I finally hear back from support and they tell me there's nothing that can be done until I get the shipment and then I can request a return label to send it back. Also, zero human empathy or acknowledgment about my car getting broken into. I didn't expect them to really care but it would've been nice. I then responded right away and asked if they could go ahead and provide me with that return label and was told they won't do that until I get the shipment. If I'm going to be asking for it anyway, why not just go ahead and do what you can to help a customer and make the process easier for me? I now have to wait for the product to arrive and then reach back out to support and maybe get a label sent to me so that I can ship back an order I didn't want to begin with. Such a frustrating experience with a company I no longer trust.
Scamming customers
When I ordered on May 25th, I specifically chose One-Time order because I wasn't sure I'd like the product. Which I did not and contacted them. They sent me a different flavor, I offered to send the cotton candy back, they declined. All of a sudden 2 months later a charge comes through this morning, they aren't answering their phones or responding to emails. Now I have the hassle of cancelling/replacing my card, because they have scammers cheating the system...
