I trusted Inspiration School of Luanda…

I trusted Inspiration School of Luanda with my son's safety. I collected him with a head injury no one told me about, and later in tears.

I am a mother and a mathematics teacher. I never imagined writing this.

Before enrolling my 11-year-old son, a child with special needs that affect his balance, at Inspiration School of Luanda (Talatona), we told the school everything in writing, including that he cannot stand steadily on one foot. The school asked for a classroom assistant. We hired her and paid her salary ourselves.

What happened:
• 28 September 2026: he struck his head on a steel protrusion in the playground. It was the first head injury of his life. Nobody told us; we found it ourselves at pick-up.
• 17:27: I emailed the school. At 17:37 his class teacher, Ms Kearabiloe Marapani, replied that they were "looking into" it. At 19:37 the Founder and Chairperson, Ms Geeta Singh, wrote: "Please allow Ms. Keara and me to come back to you with the details by tomorrow."
• 5 October: we met the school's leadership and calmly set out every contradiction. At their request, we sent him in the next day without his smartwatch.
• 6 October: after his assistant had been sent away, Ms Geeta Singh took him alone into a room near the library. I collected a child in tears, begging never to go back. We withdrew him that day.

What the school said vs. what happened:
1. The injury: Ms Kearabiloe Marapani stated that he arrived at school already injured that morning. His classroom assistant, whose presence the school itself had required, stated that she handed him over unharmed and that he had no injury until midday. Both cannot be true.
2. Telling the parents: the school did not inform us; we found the injury ourselves at pick-up. No first aid was shown to us and no incident report was given. At 19:37 Ms Geeta Singh wrote that they would come back to us "with the details by tomorrow". That written account never came.
3. The playground: Ms Kearabiloe Marapani suggested that he had no right to play where he was hurt. On 5 October the school's leadership confirmed that children may play in that area.
4. The blackboard: we were told that he had kicked a raised blackboard many times. The school knew in writing that he cannot stand steadily on one foot, and his assistant saw none of what was alleged. He denied it.
5. The questioning: on 6 October, after his assistant had been sent away, Ms Geeta Singh questioned him alone, without his assistant or a parent, and he was pressed to apologise to his teacher.
6. The emails: as the school required, we sent our questions by email (his subject teachers' names, access to the learning platforms, the assistant's role). They went unanswered until the evening of 6 October, after we had told the school that he would not return. That reply was incomplete and written as though all were well.
7. The cameras: the school stated that cameras cover the premises. We requested the recordings of the playground injury of 28 September and of our meetings.

Afterwards, the school refunded every cent we had paid.

My son and I have returned to our country. My husband remains in Angola because of his work. In Angola, they destroyed our faith and hope that our child could receive a safe education.

Parents, ask yourself: would you leave your child there?

My advice is simple: stay away from this school and the people who run it.
